Sorry, don't care for this pattern. IMHO, its way over dressed (enough material to tie 3 flies) and there is no silhouette - it looks more like a ball of fluff than a caddis.

It is so sad when people like you complain and spreds negativ critic over others art work. If you don´t have any nice comments, why bother write at all? I don´t now for sure, but I´m guessing that you don´t have a lot of experiences in fly fishing ore fly tying based on your comment. The amount of material is to catch so much air as possible, and the silhouette must work, and here is why!
Stefan is one of the most experienced trout and Grayling fly fisherman in Sweden, and has worked as a guide in many years as well as he drives one of the more popular fishing camp and river in Sweden. A man with his knowledge and experience would newer choose a pattern that doesn´t work! So please man,,, show a little f,,,,ing respect for thous who shear there knowledge and put them selves out there one youtube!
By the way, I could not find any videos where you tie your flies on your channel,, if you are so good, where is your work? Su,,,er!

@@k.flydesign498 I stated (politely) that I don't like this pattern and explained why as feedback to the tier. I could have just put a thumbs-down and left the tier and anybody else wondering why it was disliked (as several others did). This is my opinion and that is what public comments are for. I will comment with constructive criticism (positively or negatively) as I always appreciate the same opportunity to be criticized so I can improve my skills and/or reassess my perspective.
BTW, you are guessing incorrectly - I am a multi-species angler and have been tying flies for bass, trout, salmon and pike for over 50 years. I didn't say that the fly wouldn't work, it might be fine in turbulent water but in slow clear water where the trout have time to inspect the fly I have found that sparsely tied flies are taken where heavily dressed flies are refused. I fish the prime trout waters in upper New York state alot and the trout there are very finicky.
You sound a little stressed - too much coffee? Just because I have a different opinion doesn't mean that I don't respect the man and his skills. As far as a RUclips channel I think that there are more than enough people doing fly tying videos. I was a Designer and a Machinist (retired now) and I make a lot of my own tools and equipment. I've been asked to do videos to show people how, might do a couple of those. Sorry if I ruffled your feathers - that was not my intent. Please give Stefan my regards. Cheers, Hank

@@hankvana2149 calling Stefans Pattern a ball of Fluff is not being polite.
and i believe that you can tie fine flies, you have hade all thous years to practices.
But here is the thing that I find so relaxing and beautiful.
There are now laws ore rules, how to tie a fly. If there was, you would not be tying Bass flies, and we would not have all the different materials on the market to day.
And I find it arrogant wen people must tell every one how they diss like this and that, and saying that they do it so they can get better? You wont get better with negative comments, not you ore the tier.
When you get creative and com up with a pattern that works fore your favorit river , put it out on youtube, how would you feel when people that you don´t now, people that don´t now you or were you fish, are writing negativ comments about your creation? Not so fun is it?
When I´m surfing on youtube and I see som thing I don´t like, I move forward, if I see som one on the street that has got funny cloths that i don´t like or i simply find ugly, I don´t confront him ore here,, and tell them that "you should change your style" ore the parents and say " your kid is ugly, it looks like a Crocodile, a goat and a kangaroo had threesome,,,,
This is the same man, its just on the net, were it´s easy to hide!
And yes I like my coffee strong and black,,

@@k.flydesign498 Sorry that my (poor) choice of words caused an offence - that was not my intent. I tank test all my fly patterns (view them from underwater) and use the term "ball of fluff" as a description of a fly whose features (body, legs, wing etc) are masked/hidden/obscured from view. I agree that there are no "rules" and we are free to create our own "art" as beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. If our most important critics (the fish) approve then all is good! Tight lines! Hank
