      Huge part. China was trying to stir India up with their territorial disputes. Also, back then, US would strongly support India, Japan, and Australia’s moves against China under Trump. Russia even supported this move since China was also messing around with Central Asia which is clearly under Putin’s sphere of influence. But with Biden’s clear conflict of interest, the Quad might be greatly compromised.

As for India, pessimistic approach: We lose the assumed war badly then how will the Chinese look to govern India? Or say oppression even then the world would be incredibly boring without Indians. Optimistic approach: they don't declare war on India and we are able to exploit Pakistans weak states, then we have a better position.
      Look at Chinese media mainly State controlled media's I heard they show India as a developing nation.

ROKN's projected light aircraft carriers is their answer to JMSDF's upgraded and F-35B capable Izumo class "destroyers", ROKN's new diesel-electric subs is their answer to JMSDF's Soryu class subs, etc.

      @@humanbeing2730 We are not currently engaging in cultural genocide via internment camps rife with abuse and rape. The fact that the US committed similar things in the past in some of its territorial holdings and with its displaced Native American populations does not give China the moral ground to be doing it today. What the US did was wrong and most Americans recognize it and pretty much none would be ok with it happening today.
      China may not be Nazi Germany levels of evil, but the world was not aware of how horrible they were until the Nazis were defeated. Reports of the Holocaust were shrugged off and seen as a secondary concern to containing Germany’s territorial ambitions. Only later after soldiers saw the horrors that were caused by the Holocaust and the desire of the average person for wars to be for an implicit moral reason was the war framed as being primarily to stop Nazi Germany’s plan to take over the world and commit genocide against the “undesirable” races of the world.
      We have the reports today of human rights abuses in China. China is led by an authoritarian government who is even now finding ways to influence and interfere in the rights of individuals across the world. Mildly for now, but liable to increase in the future. I am not advocating for war, and if it comes to war it is far from guaranteed that the US and its allies would come out on top. Yet if we want to live in a world where we are not at the mercy of our overlords as to how much of our human rights we can enjoy, whether a change in the political situation must come at the expense of death or a peaceful election, is something that unfortunately is quite likely to lead much of the West against much of the East. The world is too big and too interconnected for two major ideologically opposed groups whose existence threatens the other, to coexist peacefully.

    From my point of view as a Vietnamese, I don't think we have any problem with China rising as a superpower. Any nation in the world has the undisputed, intrinsic rights to growth. The problem, however, is that China is not rising peacefully. It starts to expanding across the local regions, seeking to take control. China has already established a firm economical and military influence over SEA countries, so the 2nd tier of containment seems far-fetched.
    Vietnam, though with a certain degree of success in terms of keeping itself from being crippled by China, still greatly depends on it. And, being one of the closest to China, plus having a corrupted single-party government, Vietnam can't do much to restrain China, so don't count on it.
    BESIDE, there is more to it. The biggest question is, why is China growing aggressively? I believe a large part of it is due to the America's unipolar doctrine. It does not allow any other to become a powerhouse except for itself. That is why it always gathers allies to choke a potential threat to its permanent dominance. Believe me, if you cut off all necessities from a man, he will come at you violently. That's just the nature of things.
    Now I understand why China creates a so-called "9-dash line" in South China Sea. It is not just simply to illegally claim the sea resources in the water, but to create a buffer zone to counter the containment (6:55).
    This will either end with one side yielding, or with a catastrophic war in a distance future.

      @@shorewall It's called "trading". Everybody is feeding everyone. Your saying that China has been "being fed and watered" is just vague. In fact, during the Colonialism era of the 19th, China was sliced and diced by many empires. After WW2 and the establishment of the CCP, China already stood on their own. All they had to do (and still do) was to create the cheapest labor market of the world, the one thing that all empires love. The rest is easy.
      As all things should be, enough time has passed, and China is now rich and strong enough to be recognized as a Super Power. And as my initial comment says, the US and the West do not like it.
      Again, China was not fed and watered. It has just... developed to the point where the West feels being threatened.

    • @smitmahajani7663
      @smitmahajani7663 3 года назад +2

      Definitely. That's why Quad countries have already built relations with key ASEAN countries like Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia and Phillipines. Also, all countries in South Asia will also be important. This Quad grouping is looking to control the Indo-Pacific, so it'll extend from the coasts of USA and Canada, to the coasts of Israel. Especially since China is also looking to expand its sphere of influence in Middle East and Africa. Japan and India have already begun investing in Africa and Seychelles. France and Germany are showing more interest in this region, and I expect Canada to join later too. Middle eastern and African nations will play a key secondary role in this new "Cold War", similar to how Latin America and some countries of Asia did in the first Cold War. Right now however, the focus remains South Asia, East Asia and Southeast Asia.
