- After watching a 2FM RC video today about swapping the ESC on the scx24 and the wpl-c24 I had to try it! He was right, it is a great and cheap alternative for getting way more slow control. Im very happy with the results
This esc is great with this series. It even works with the 370 motor with 2 speed transmission. Thanks for put this out there.
I see you were using the original WPL card.
I wasn't happy about it either, then I bought the WPL RES-V3 card, a more advanced card that also allows you to control the lights, many lights.
With that everything went smoothly and the scan control is very good, nice slow.
Maybe you've never tried it, I recommend it.
This way you avoid swapping the brains of the poor SCX24.

Yeah!! I ordered the furitek too 👍👍. I can't wait until it gets here. I didnt get a brushless motor but I do have the rgt 050 motor sitting here. I put that in when the furitek gets here
Did you order the 3s mainboard or the lizard?
Bro I love both my WPL crawlers I got the kit models and went ahead and got the all metal versions. There really not bad. But the rtr versions need so much to be in the same league as the little 24's. By the time you sink the money into the 24's to upgrade them to all metal you could buy a remote and all the electronics needed to run one of the kit model WPL's. I really wish someone would do a dollar of dollar comparison. In stead of a $130 rtr against a $65 rtr. Really doesn't seem quite realistic. Love your content.
Have you tried using the stock battery plug from the C24-1 in the axial esc ? I wanna order this but just need some answers lol
Hey, new rc guy here, in fact my Wpl is in the mail. Looking to price out THIS upgrade or maybe something similar? Having trouble finding it all.. don't want to waste money! Any help would be appreciated. I know this is a old video!!
If you use a good remote and a 40amp ESC you will get the same ressult but the 2 speed gearbox will change everything to another level

I'm sitting here with 2 scx24 and a brand new cr24 thinking about fitting the body on a custom chassis and using scx24 axles and components 😅

Would the WPL electronics work in the scx24? Like i mean take the receiver/esc out of it and then replace with a WPL board and run it.
I am not sure, I don’t have that wpl anymore otherwise I would test it out for you
@@UpperLeftRC I mean the plugs are all the same so Im pretty positive it would work. Just curious cuz I have both and my scx24 needs new electronics and I have the spare electriconics from the c24-1, could be a fix for the time being
I ordered a transmitter because I had an extra esc but it came with one too. I found a better price on eBay by searching the part # vs the scx24 listing

Would the stock wpl battery work with it also?
The stock wpl battery won’t work with an scx24 ESC, unless you have all the tools and supplies to change the plugs etc.
Help me under stand do I need to buy a new remote scx24 remote to make this work
No so that ESC/receiver combo in the scx24 the box you plug the battery into can be removed and installed into a different RC car and the stock scx24 remote will control whatever car you plug that ESC box into

can wpl use the scx24 shocks? whats the screws like
No, they are 2 different scales of vehicle and the shocks on the wpl’s are way bigger than the scx24’s

I was wondering how did you take the shocks apart to change the springs if you could let me know that would be great thanks
Once you take the shocks off the top of the shock has two small tabs holding a cap on, if you twist and pull that cap off the internal spring can slide out

Just did this to mine and fried the esc after about 45 seconds of driving. Have you had any issues?
Oh dang! No I have not had the issue or heard about that happening :/ sorry man, that sucks
I guess I just have bad luck with the esc! I just picked up a couple for the Injora 10amp esc's. Hopefully I have better luck with them.

Could you swap the scx24 receiver/esc with a WPL esc/receiver? Take the WPL 2 in 1 receiver and put it into the scx24 and run it. Basically what youre doing but vice versa. Swap the scx24 receiver/esc with the wpl receiver/esc and use the wpl battery as well

It should but the motor is not strong enough to hold it on super steep hills
