This is probably a far catch, but in my opinion this is the most beautiful example of a luxury aftermarket modification I've seen to this date. The car just looks soo good! Very great aesthetics. Thanks Tim for the impressions 👍
The MC20 was launched during the hight of the Covid pandemic, which obviously didn’t help giving the car the attention (of the online car reviewers) it deserved. Thanks for giving some love Shmee!
Literally as soon as I saw the title, I KNEW it was about the MC20! Glad to see you're revisiting it, and I can't wait until you inevitably get to try out the future track focused varients
The Evo car of the year was voted on by many different great drivers and journalists. They drove them for 3 days and in all conditions and roads. You don't have to agree with their vote, but you have to respect it. They gave their reasons why if you watch their video, but it really is an awesome car and also a lot cheaper than the 296 GTB or GT3 RS.
I liked your previous video with the MC20, but in this spec it's absolutely amazing. The colorscheme is right in my alley. I cannot judge the driving experience ofcourse, but by the looks of it I think I could live with it.
Also, 100% agree on the 4200 Gransport MC Victory being one of Maserati's all-time greats. It was a bit late to the market in 2006 compared to the C5 Z06 and 996 GT3, but they are amazing cars--on road or on track.
Personally, I prefer the elegance of the standard MC20, but I can understand why people like this. Also, Tim, do you remember if the MC20 you drove had the E-diff or the mechanical diff? I've heard it makes a load of difference in the demeanor of the car. I forget which of the two is which, but one tends to produce a planted rear end that steps out predictably while the other has a very snappy rear that is always trying to oversteer (on or off throttle). So, that might have been a factor as well, especially on winter tires. 🤷♂️
Maserati really makes the most beautiful cars around, the Quattroporte 5 was the most beautiful sedan, the GranTurismo was the most beautiful car in the world for many years, the MC 12 astonishing, and now the MC20 and the new GranTurismo (not mentioning the outstanding Alfieri, that unfortunately never went to production). I think no other car manufacturer defines the Italian design better than Maserati
"Which was actually named after the founders pet dog who sadly passed away just before. Little bit of a fun story behind that!" I understand the point but was a bit funny wording haha
I think the car itself is absolutely beautiful with all the curves and lines, but they should've but in a twin turbo v8 from the pista or something similar to give it that extra little bit, as always shmee great video :)
For me its one of the more beautiful designs of recent years, compared to the McLaren's, Lamborghini's and even the Ferrari's it competes with, its simple no fuss but beautifully sculped body shape is definitely something i prefer. Love the MC20.
I think they didnt want offer another Ferrari, I mean Maserati is part of Ferrari's family/group and they want to keep the DNA of Maserati's GT.. so nothing extremly racing but a piece of beauty, comfy, fast elegant supercar
Shmee if you see this, we have a primaserie spec mc20 cielo in Michigan when your picking up the dark horse you should definitely review it. I think you would be surprised how nice the cielo is.
I saw one of the regular ones outside my local Tescos Express yesterday. Got chatting to the owner who was very happy to chat about his car 😅 Stunning looking thing in the flesh.
I've not been impressed with anything Maserati save maybe the GT in a really long time. But this car changes that. The Aria kit with the blue carbon is gorg5
With the 7 design kit I would take this over any new ferrari, they should put front fender louvers and a fin down the middle like the amg 1 would look even better
I remember the porsche carrera gt video here. Nice to see you back at this insane place to see what other toys are in that sweet shop. What the mods are insane on this mc20. Very cool
Good Evening Shmee150 hope you’re doing well. Really enjoyed yesterday’s video with the legend Chris fix. Looking forward to this one love the blue carbon
As the owner of a Maserati MC20, I can say that this car is designed for everyday use. I personally use it for attending my business meetings. One of its advantages is that it doesn't need to be overly flashy, neither in engine sound nor in paint or additional decorations. I chose it because it adds style and makes a good impression. Inside, it stands out for its simplicity, with a clean and orderly design. I believe if someone is looking for a louder and more ostentatious vehicle, the MC20 wouldn't be the most suitable choice.
I really like the MC20 and the direction Maserati is going with their new models, but, to be honest, I feel like I can get 98% of the experience at 1/3 the price with a Lotus Emira.
I think overall you never really pushed the car and appeared spent little if no time in Corsa mode. The car absolutely comes alive and my favorite setting is Corsa with the suspension dialed back to Sport. Speaking as an owner your comments about "firm and heavy steering, mirrors vibrate, and wind noise I have not experienced any of. Appears your time with the car was once again more of a "Sunday Drive" than an actual road test.
The steering is ANYTHING but heavy. Light, like Alfa Romeo. Not an amazing feedback, but super responsive, plenty of feel. Addictive to throw into curves.
I've driven 2 cars, and both of them had vibrating mirrors and excessive wind noise; could be bad luck but even still it's important to note that for other future customers to be aware.

Hi Tim - I took my black 2014 AUDI V10 R8 Spyder S-Tronic (sounds familiar?) for a ride to cars & coffee held by Formula DK in Denmark this weekend. There was the MC20 Cielo in all its glory (The convertible version of the car) It was spectacular! And it had good company in the form of a red 296 GTS. Its the two cars on top of my list - but I think the Ferrari comes out winning. Ride on! Peter
The Cielo is absolutely STUNNING . No other car has made my pulse raise (perhaps with the exception of the Huayra) like the MC20 Cielo in the past two decades of being around supercars.
Hey Tim beautiful car the mc12 was a sister to the Ferrari Enzo and now this the MC20 beautiful car beautiful spec as well thanks Tim for the walkaround and drive great vid as always Tim
On paper: 29.0 psi of boost for each of two turbos, high RPM power scavenging design of 12 spark plugs, 12 combustion chambers, 12 injection pathways, 6 cylinder crankshaft with no counter-rotating balance shafts, 8000 RPM red line, close ratio steering (at speed), stiff forged carbon fiber/composite vibration absorbing tub with massive aluminum members bolted (including double wish bone suspension) onto it's hefty extrusions, dual clutch tuned for quick acceleration up-shifts paired with slower deceleration speed scrubbing downshifts working in unison with race style brakes requiring Herculean effort, (no worries as follow-ups make up for lost time with explosive low RPM acceleration), and very low center of gravity. My experience: I have an MC 20 (4000 miles driven) and to compare, a last generation (2021)Turbo S (2000 miles driven). I Drive the MC20 when I want a dramatic experience without effort. Keeping it in Corsa mode, it is the fast crazy horse at the public horse riding stables. Has fun scaring me, drives hard and fast without my trying to convince it, but somehow saves itself despite the precariousness fraught pace. Fast into a lane, curve or turn, It likes to first terrorize with a brief frenetic uncertainty as it plants itself. Then it firmly hunkers down imparting a whimsical feeling of accomplishment. I believe this car will attain legendary status, when this quality alone is discovered and celebrated by more drivers. To date (10/05/23), one cannot order a performance oriented coupe version like mine any more. This anticipated limited production status will not give voice to the car's true credentials until a decade plus from now. Not a dainty and polished Ferrari or Porsche but way better than a Radical RXC Coup 650 R (which I also have). To me, it is a keeper. I drive the Turbo S for commutes and when I feel like applying more deliberate energy in transforming it into a street apex predator.
Shmee tends to be "sold" on a car after everyone has begun to rave about it and when values start to climb. Initially, when the La Ferrari was released, he wasnt sold on it, now he loves it, when the LFA wasnt talked about all that much a few years back, no interest, now he loves them too lol. End of the day, I wish I was in his position but its just funny how his interest in a car increases once the values start to rise lol
Shmee150 Awesome Review I'm glad you got a chance to drive see and drive that Absolutely Gorgeous Maserati MC20 Aria and I definitely agree it sounds way better than stock and I definitely understand why you wouldn't own one
Liking this right away since you are in New Jersey. Came at the right time too, since most or the potholes are paved. I only went through 4 tires this winter
I wish they'd make one... Or a limited production run... With the signature Maserati, cross plane crank, Ferrari derived V8. Possibly the best sounding V8 of all time. Even if it's a little slower around a track, it would be glorious to see it done, while they still can.
Kudos to 7 design team crazy work by them honestly the car looks damn good from every angle😮 that Italian pull is lacking for sure maybe a tuned engine from the factory and electric motor can make this car bonkers fast😍❤️🔥

That kit really accents the car nicely. It needed the extra bits to really make it pop. The exhaust note from the V6 is quite surprising but beautiful

I love how the vents on the Bonnet (hood) represent the trident emblem of Maserati.
