    Today we are taking a trip on Polands flag-ship train the EIP Express Intercity Premium which is operated by the Alstom New Pendolino trains capable of 250 km/h (However not possible to reach these speeds in Poland currently)
    Come along as we check out what its like to travel on PKP Intercity's premier train in first class along the route from Gdansk to Warsaw Central railway station

    Poland is amazing !! Thanks to RUclips, now I know so many more things about Poland 🇵🇱 I've always been wanting to visit Poland, but I didn't know this much of Poland ,or how really beautiful Poland was/ is !!! How Poland progressed / advanced within the last decades is really intriguing/ incredible !!! 👏 👏👏👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🚄🇵🇱💕💞

    Actually, pkp does ticket pricing a little differently. The price is not dependent on days till departure, but on how full the trains are. There is a base price and an empty train has a 45% discount. The fuller the train gets, the smaller the discount becomes (30%, 15%, 0%), until it reaches the base price.

    Took this service once between Warsaw and Krakow. Excellent train. Something that should be replicated throughout the country to all major destinations in the country and beyound.

      @@Simon-Andersen There will be high speed line shortly between Warsaw, Wrocaław and Poznań, through my city, Łódź (including tunnel under the city). First stage should be U/C next year. Also, line between Warsaw and Kraków should have parts at 250km/h in 2 years time.

      ​@@Simon-Andersen This line has an operational speed of 200 kph on some sections, so it's a pretty good standard. The fastest EIP go 2h 32min from Warsaw to Gdańsk (327 km = 125 kph on average)

      I'd say we need to make it more reliable (less delays), and re-open many lines/stations closed in 2000s. But higher speed is always nice 😀

    I was comparing it to the equivalent Bucharest to Constanta line (also linking the capital with the largest sea port and also the "best line in the country"). Quite different. There there are only 2 tracks, not 3 like here. Trains go max 160km/h, not 250km/h. But the biggest difference I guess is that the actual stations are not as renovated as the polish ones. Good job Poland.

      Romania could really use some infrastructure upgrades on it railways, even bringing them up to around 160-200 km/h for long stretches would do wonders

      @@Simon-Andersen I think bringing them over 160km/h requires a large investment as you have to completely re-think your signalling. You can no longer assume that the train driver sees any indication on the side of the track.

      The trains go 160. That's already pretty good - please don't always negatively look at your country, we didn't always have what we have in 2023.

    The tracks are prefectly fine for speeds of 250km/h the only limiter to this is the signalling which is not good enough to manage those speeds.

    Since 2021 speed limit on about a third of this line is 200km/h.

    1:28 these are SKM ticket machines, pkp ticket offices were shown on the sign when you was entering the tunnel

    2:46 the tilting technology in this train is what Fiat (edit: Fiat Ferroviara) bought from the never to be completed British APT, the follower of InterCity 125

      Take a closer look. The conductor is standing in the door making sure that noone is chasing the leaving train.

      @@Simon-Andersen There are constant trackworks on that line. Sometimes it's 2:20h warsaw-gdynia sometimes it's 3h you just never know.

      @@ncard00 I mean possible expected investment on the line to make it speedier. Barely more than 100 kmh on average is too slow.

      ​@@etbadaboum we have stupid railways and stupid chiefa of PKP trainlines. There is still community inside. The channel called KURACYJA is making movies avout all tragic catastrophies and accidents with Polish Trains. And always is the same thing. PKP dont took any lesson of the accidents.

      Our railways are old and not modern. Its not prepared for hogh speed. So polish the fastest and modern train called: Husarz (Means winged hussair) are sell abroad

      The most important thing is electricity - Krakow-Warsaw line is ready for 250 km/h but the electricity has to be renewed to get higher speed than 200 km/h. We will be able to do it in about 3 years

    Where did you find information that Gdańsk is 4th largest city in Poland? Gdańsk is 6th....

Really sorry to break it down to you, but it is also not 4th metropolitan area. I could bring you here some docs, but those would be in Polish. However by size it goes like WARSZAWA 2702mln; KONURBACJA ŚLĄSKA(SILESIA) 1990mln; ŁÓDŹ 0,760mln; KRAKÓW 0,756mln; TRÓJMIASTO(GDAŃSK) 0,748mln; WROCŁAW 0,690mln; POZNAŃ 0,565mln

    Queues to the ticket machine is normal. PKP is know for its horrible attitude towards passangers.
    There will not be more machines or enough of cashiers after renovation

      The PKP onboard staff is usually great, but i ussualy buy my tickets online so i dont know much about the station staff :-)

      @@Simon-Andersen it is mostly about management. With main station renovation there is no attitude towards the better passanger service.
      That is why you could see only 2 machines. And there is planty of space to install more but not a chance to do it.
      I.e. please visit Sopot all 1st floor Might by used for the lounge with tickets machines. For few year it is empty and people have very little space to wait for their train

    Jak już robisz film o Polsce, to dobrze by były, gdybyś postarał się o polskie napisy. Oglądam ale nie rozumiem, co mówisz. A tak na marginesie co takiego ciekawego widzisz w tym pociągu? Czy tam gdzie mieszkasz, nie ma pociągów?
