Footage from NASA renderings and actual in-cabin-re-entry footage and landing near the end.
I was just bored and wanted to make a vid for this tune. It isnt perfect, but was the best I could do portraying the story with the footage I had that was useable.

i see this song as a beautiful continuation of the original, i love both of them, and i thiink this one is a true honor to the first. in the first you never know if tom survives, in this one, its a beautiful return home, i find that very fitting.
I like STG and this is a great cover but I definitely prefer the original. I grew up with the original and I can still remember hearing the "Earth below us" coming from the radio speakers back in 1983. Loved it ever since!

Good cover...I'll always love the Peter Schilling original best, but this is certainly a good cover in it's own right.

You need to learn to respect others, as well as music in general. If you did, you would see that nobody is disrespecting anybody's music here, rather, they are doing just the opposite. This version is done very well & respectfully from the classic.... This comes from someone who still remembers when the original was first released....
My interpretation was that he died at the end... and the "I'm coming home." was a reference to a deeper metaphysical/2001 Space Odyssey-like realization he is making as a unique person experiencing space while in the process of dying/disappearing from a crash or some unexplained weird phenomena (like a vortex or something crazy).
I used to listen to Peter Schillings Major Tom over and over again when I was a kid. This is an excellent tribute to the original. Thanks!
