- In this video I will show you the upgrades I preformed on my Dell Inspiron 15 laptop computer. I installed a Silicone power 120gb Solid State Drive, 8gb of RAM, and a fresh install of Windows 10. We will see if these really made any difference using the windows experience index and testing out some programs. The upgrades were definitely worth it! The boot time is incredible and programs open in just a few seconds.

Why would anyone want to attack your videos with dislikes? That's what I'm confused about. Your videos are quite entertaining.
My father have same this laptop and he consider it as a trash. Most of the time he want to punch the laptop.
I took it and upgrade HDD to kingstone SSD and upgrade RAM 2GB to 8GB DDR3 + putting a secondary HDD.
Now I run windows 10 pro + Kali Linux.
it's become a very powerful laptop, booting in 6 seconds!!
I'm very satisfied and highly recommend to run SSD in your PC.
If your PC support NVMe SSD it's will be better than regular SSD and go for it.
I dug one of those out of the garbage. 3rdGen i3, 4gb/ram, no HDD, broken keyboard. Now it has SanDisk Ultra II 256gb SSD, 8gb/RAM, and new keyboard. Quick and snappy!
Hey can you please share your processor Speed. My processor Speed is 1.9 ghz . Adding ssd is preferable?

Loved the video quality! 60FPS!!! But the lighting was not that great, As for the Dell laptop you have really increased the performance! an SSD really improves the system speed. Id love to do this with my laptop!
+PC First Yeah, haha did you see my comment about it, every time i do a video at night it ends up like this. Sooner or later I am going to replace the lighting in the room and buy some spot lights. I LOVE THE 60FPS TOO, it is so smooth!

My Lenovo uses 32GB SSD and 1TB HDD. That boots up fast. I was thinking upgrading mine and using the 32GB SSD as boot drive for the Dell.

Some comments about the Dell Inspiron 15 series. I got a 15 with 8 gigs of ram and a 1TB mechanical drive, which i want to update to 16 gig and go down to a 565 SSD. It is not a speed demon now, before the upgrades, and Intel HD graphics are poor, especially running SL in either Win 10 or Ubuntu, which is even worse. Things rezz slow for me right now, before this challenge.
I got the Microsoft Community Edition of Visual Studio 2015, which is one of the most intensive bloatware programs out there. I could not run anything but 2011. They updated the heck out of it to where 2015 will not run. Its a great idea to have 5 different languages under a studio, they made a mess out of it, could barely compile simple labs in Win10. The system barely runs Windows 10 and I dont even have office loaded. I use Open Office on both sides of my dual boot. The system is a knuckle dragger.
Your video on your face was great, very near HD quality, but showing screens, it was hard to read. If you could copy the performance program command line in show more, that would help. I called Dell to build a machine with AMD and a GPU and they are stuck were the web page fails to build. I have had 3 Dells and generally like them, run Norton, but the Laptop is a dog if anyone is considering buying one. Its better to get something better. I did programming for a living, this machine is nothing to write home about, so either I spend the $320 to do the updates or buy another desktop. If anyone knows how to improve the inbred Intel HD 1500 graphics system. let me know. thanks.

I've had this laptop since 2013 which means 10 years now, lately it started to feel so laggy, I updated it to windows 10 but nothing changed, hopefully this will work!

I switched mine same model to Linux pop and yes the ssd and ram should make it fly
I am thinking of doing this to my wife's Dell which is the exact same thing. It does work better since, putting windows 10 on. Is it possible to use a SSD drive for boot only and use the original for storage?
I imagine 8GB is probably the max Ram for that laptop.

@@BladezzWoW you have to replace the whole mother board. But you can up grade to a mother board with an i5

I have the same laptop with i3-3217U CPU.I will instal ssd & Windows 10 because it lags.4GB of ram is not problem(i use chrome and spotify and have a lag in my system from the seagate hdd into this machine.

I despise this laptop. I had one, and randomly it would freeze. Now the hard drive is fried. Which means when i go to start it up, its stuck in a boot loop.

ive got to the part when choosing fresh install, however my SSD (SanDisk Ultra 3D SSD 512GB) doesn't show in the drive selection menu (laptop), apparently it isnt showing in bios either, only the Win/10 install media usb shows.
nvm, SSD was thinner than HDD, so when screwed down, it dislodges itself unless user makes sure the screws catch the SDD

I read in a DELL Inspiron 15 3521 forum about a ssd upgrade, the moderator said that unfortunately, the system will not support an SSD drive. But I guess he was wrong? Or are there differences between the same model?

I use same laptop..and very sluggish really. I upgraded to Windows 10 also. But not a good with softwares. Pls can you recommend software to increase the 4gm ram to 8 or 12? Also what is the essence of the 120 silicon card. What is it called actually so I can purchase it also
You don't download software to add more ram. You have to buy and physically install the memory. That involves ripping your laptop apart. Not recommended to do if you've never done such a thing. You run the dishwasher of breaking something. These laptops are very brittle if you don't know how to snap off and remove the plastic trim.

Yes, you can. But dell support will tell you that it supports only 8gb which is not true.The max ram is 8gb per slot turns out to be 16 in total.

You can and can not do that. Its not recommended, but that involves voiding a warranty and removing a processor that wasn't intended to be removed from a machine/case that may not work well with a different CPU of your choosing. Be better off just buying a better laptop.
because for inspiron 15 3521, processor can't be replaced. If you wish, then only option is to change motherboard.
