⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 For 'Mischief of the Metal Gods': 1st solo Leda Cygnus (guitar) 2nd solo Takayoshi Ohmura (guitar) 3rd solo BOH (bass) 4th solo Hideki Aoyama (drums) By coincidence, they are the same Kami Band members who performed the Live in Japan version of 'Road of Resistance'. You haven't reacted to any videos with the late great Mikio Fujioka (RIP), or ISAO in the Kami Band lineup yet. I've often said that Su-metal has a unique penetrating clarity to her voice that makes it perfect for metal. Without having to boost her volume she can still be heard through heavy drums, bass and guitars. I don't believe that she has a bad solo song. Some are heavier than others though. 'No Rain, Rainbow' is a straight up ballad. 'Amore' is power metal. With a very nice bass solo in the Wembley Arena version. 'Akatsuki' is pure fire.
The loss of Mikio is still to painful. For me he was the "best" guitar player in Kami band. The style he had complimented Ohmura and Leda like Yin to Yang. Leda and Ohmura sounds to much like each other to get the same dynamic as with Mikio. This is just my opinion. I love and respect the sh*t out of Leda and Ohmura.
@@prs149 I´m not saying that Mikio is a better guitar player than Ohmura or Leda. What i mean is that Ohmura and Leda are, basically, shredders and Mikio was more "jazz like". So my point is that O and L sounds alike and Mikio complimented that sound wonderfully. Mikios sound/style was, for me, essenceal. Sorry for grammar, english is not my first language. Mikio was, i believe, a teacher for Ohmura.
Excellent reaction. I believe it was Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar in this one) who said the time changes for 'Rondo of Nightmare' are so technical and difficult - and that it is even harder for the vocalist than for the band. Then consider Su-metal was not long past her 16th birthday for this performance (BABYMETAL became the youngest average age female band ever to headline at the Budokan and they sold out two nights running). So many people say they can't get into the singing with BABYMETAL and I really can't understand why that is. OK, some people maybe just don't like female vocalists, for others it isn't metal if it doesn't have some bloke sounding like he's regurgitating his last three meals. For me it was the vocals that first drew me in, the unique juxtaposition of what is usually brutal instrumentals with the double bass drum hammering away against the clarity of Su's voice cutting through the mayhem (she really is an exceptional vocalist) and with Yui and Moa leading the audience and getting them involved. Obviously, and as you noticed, this is one of Su's solos and those are much more like traditional metal songs with a vocalist fronting the band, but again being able to mix things up and to do different things other bands just can't do is one of the things that makes BABYMETAL stand out. They have the songs with all three girls and their choreography, they have Su's solos, you have yet to see 'Black BABYMETAL' - that is Yui and Moa as a duo with their more child-like voices, but they often get the heaviest instrumental backing from the Kami Band and the contrast is even more marked. I would recommend 'Megitsune' for your next reaction (all 3 girls again), then perhaps 'Akatsuki' or 'Amore' (Su solos) and 'Sis Anger' or 'Onedairi Daisekusan' (two of the Black BABYMETAL songs).
when you think about it, the entire chorus of Rondo of Nightmare is a waltz, in 3/4 time. A lot of this is in 4/4 time, with the beginning splitting between 7/8 and 8/8 time. It isn't that hard if you count it out. Now, Tales of the Destinies, on the otherhand.. that one got props on the Prog from Dream Theater, and left all the mathcore bands scratching their heads!
of course the title suggests an alternate interpretation. as you probably know, they're the kami band, and one possible translation of "kami" is "god". while the girls are away, the gods will play -- thus, the "mischief of the gods". of course, once su shows up, they have to get back to business.
Yeah every song from BABYMETAL is different from each other ... that's why it's always fun to see the reaction of people who try BABYMETAL songs one by one
"The waning moon shines bright, but there's a gloom of rampant madness. I hear laughing all around. It bares its fangs and its eyes gleam. There's no escape. It flickers, appearing and disappearing in my mind. A nightmarish rondo keeps repeating. The light of dawn is so far away, I have no choice but to run through the darkness." Hi Detrucci, awesome reaction again! The Kami Band are absolute metal masters, in this video in order of solos: Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), Bassist BOH (bass), and Hideki Aoyama (drums). There's a pool of Kamis that rotate in and out depending on availability because they all have their own bands and projects. This year, for the first time ever, they had US Kamis touring with them during their US tour. They've teased at their upcoming "Legend - Metal Galaxy" shows in January that the Kamis from the east and the Kamis from the west will play on the same stage. I wish I could go, that sounds like it would be amazing!
Great reaction and you've hit on the reason for their success; excellent composing (no songs are the same), some of the best musicians in Japan, a singer with the power and control to break through the heavy music, high energy and spotless execution. There is literally no other band like them. And they've been doing this from 2010 when the girls was only 11 and 12 at the time (Su is now 22 and Moa is 20). As you've probably guessed by now, Babymetal is a traveling musical extravaganza best viewed live.
That‘s one of the great things about BABYMETAL - no matter how many songs you have heard, they are still potentially going to surprise you with the next one. For BABYMETAL standards, this song has an unusual dark atmosphere. It‘s about a person being trapped in a nightmare. Through the darkness she (?) can sense a dark presence coming towards her, and finally she gives in and asks the presence to at least reveal themselves to her before she dies. I think the music does a fantastic job of supporting this atmosphere. Even without understanding the lyrics, you can sense that there‘s something haunting and sinister going on. And the melody must be one of the most beautiful ones I have ever heard, and Su delivers it perfectly. If you are ever looking for BABYMETAL lyrics, check out Du-metal‘s site: du-metal.blogspot.com/2014/03/akumu-no-rondo.html . It does not only have the translations as such, but also some interesting and helpful annotations for non-Japanese speakers.

Another nice reaction. To answer your question re the other girls, Su has a couple of solos during a show to give Yui and Moa a rest, and they in return perform songs as a pair under the name Black Babymetal to give Su a break.
When Babymetal was a "group of three" (now two... maybe three, not really sure now) in the beginning the other two girls were very young. Sukuza is only a year older but thing about put three little girls in concerts of about an hour singing, dancing, running... even now they do a really serious training and it´s no easy. No maybe one solution who comes to the producer mind, was to put some themes as Suzuka solos, and others with the others two girls alone like "Black Babymetal", there are some themes for this (now only performed a few times and by Moa solo). With this solution you can let them rest for a minutes between songs. And yes, the band can perform almost anything. All of them are highly trained professionals, some of them with their own groups and some of them very successful in Japan. Leda Cygnus, one of the guitars ass also the bass of the band Galneryus (this band is great, they do a really great metal) and also as vocalist of Deluhi. In the "kami band" are really big names in the Japan´s music. A lot of them with profesional training or even trainers for others, even another one: Mikio Fujioka was also instructor for professional musicians and writer of a lot of books of music theory. When Babymetal success starts, the record label behind them go to find the best musicians who can find. Not "some good musicians" but "the best, no excuses here, go and find the best". Hi, how about reacting to bridear - ignite, or her name in blood - last days, or to Gyze - Julius, or Onmyouza - Aoki dokugan. They are all japanese bands good as well.
I'm still trying to figure out his accent. It's slight, and I just can't place it.
I wonder if you will figure it out :D

But I have been in Canada for 4 years so you are very much spot on. Well done!
@@Detrucci I have a good ear, as proven by my love for this track ;)

React to some more Band Maid. They’ve released two videos this month for their songs Blooming and Reincarnation and they’re both incredible.

Do you think it is better to do the new songs next?
Detrucci I would say yes. Normally I would recommend some of the older live videos that are really popular but both these new songs, in my opining, are probably the best they’ve ever done and they have a lot good songs.
thank you for the great reaction. Watch Yui and Moa only with Sis Anger as a follow up ruclips.net/video/BZLZcoWZKN0/видео.html
I do miss Mikio though. The band is mega talented but little god is irreplaceable.
