Supposedly, while that ball was in the air, Larry yelled out "MONEY!" and it still went in. THAT'S why the guys on the bench start laughing and throwing up their arms. They shoved him and it still didn't throw him off.

1986, I was 20 My dad was 42.... we loved NBA late 70s and 80s. My dad loved Larry in the clutch. He used to say if your life depended on a basket... he'd pull Larry to take the shot.
Don’t forget that Bird came into the league as a rookie and was a playmaker, a passer, a clutch shooter, and a trash talker. James did not. It took him years to develop these skills especially taking the clutch shot. He would rather pass it off to someone else.

What I love about Byron’s story and similar ones is how it’s mind games as well..players will think is he actually gonna do that or is he messing with us?
