Beautiful apartment! 😍☀️Just a plant parenting tip, your maidenhair will crisp up in direct sunlight, it needs to be inside in the shade 😉 Silvia on your desk might benefit from bottled water and less sunlight as well 😘 good luck!
They are the most beautiful prints ever! And I'm planning on buying a boat load more when I go back haha 😊 You will adore the Ghibli Museum when you get to go 💛💛
Love your spacious new apartment with all those floor to ceiling windows. (Heavy curtains during the hot daylight hours will help that heating problem.) As you showed your Sakuma Drops on a shelf and paper cranes hanging from the ceiling I couldn’t help but look up at mine! It must be “as common to bring a bit of Japan home as it is to leave a bit of myself there” type of thing. You look so happy.
Love your home. Your bedroom/kitchen/living room windows would make me so nervous because its so low to the ground. I live in Queens New York and our windows don’t go that low. Thanks for sharing.
When I visited Australia I went to Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Spending most of my waking time in San Francisco, I appreciated Adelaide the most out of those three cities. I’m sure if I had a chance to visit the country side/Victor Harbor area, I would’ve been convinced to move there!
That much glass is 100% house goals for me haha - ALL THE NATURAL LIGHT YASSSSS! So right about it getting too hot in summer though - I have a sunroom (which is my craft room/study), and at least most of the windows open so I can let some air through in summer. Looks like an absolutely gorgeous little apartment, and that view is absolutely beautiful! I miss Adelaide :(
A suggestion for getting the aircon into the bedroom in summer - we have a huge metal floor plan (affectionately called "The Cyclone" in our house), and we use it to pump the aircon from our bedrooms into the living area in summer. We've got aircon in the bedrooms but not in the living areas - sooooo annoying in humid QLD summers!
I love your apartment so much!!! I adore those windows... I love natural lighting. And aww your plants name is silvia too 🥰 so cute. I love the decor, so simple but magical. Another great video!!
It is! Unfortunately, the plant doesn't have your spelling (because I named it after Sylvia Plath) but still. Yay hahah. Thank you. I'm glad you liked it 😊💛
Yaaas, thank you for uploading the tour this Sunday! 😍💛 It's so cute to see some little details that accompanied you through the years. ✨ I love your apartment - it's so bright with all the windows, though I can imagine how hot it can get in there. You two found a nice way to live together, to share some spaces, but still separate from each other. And your book shelf looks a bit like a Tetris game, hehe. ^^ I can understand your thoughts that the kitchen is big. To me it seems huge as well. :D And you can be so lucky that you don't hear your neighbors... I've had so much stress because of this fact here in Germany. Thank you for uploading the apartment tour Christy, it was really worth the waiting. 💛
Thank you for waiting so patiently!! I wanted it to feel *finished* first but then I realised ... I should probably just get it filmed hahah Omg you're not wrong--it does look like a Tetris game. Let's blame Tyler for that one hahah I used to hear our neighbours all the time in Japan. And often got told off by them just for making the slightest sound. It was super alienating. I'm sorry you're in that situation now! I hope you one day have an apartment or home with super dooper thick walls. You're so, so welcome. All the love 💛😊💛😊
@@christy-anne-jones ah, I think no one is to blame for the Tetris look, I actually like that look. 😄 Yeah, I'm already looking forward to a new apartment - even though I don't know when I could move. But I'll be positive about that! 😊 So far, good luck for your soon to happen surgery and take your time to recover afterwards! 💛
I've only recently come across your writing videos and saw this one. I also live in Adelaide and wondered initially if the title was referring to another Adelaide! Love the way you've decorated, especially all the Ghibli stuff. Though I am surprised that apartment buildings don't have ducted aircon as a construction standard due to the nature of Australian weather and essentially being heat traps.
getting so much natural light in there is a blessing, yes the heat is a byproduct - but natural light is soooo important!! I'm lucky in my place i have decent natural light in it. Lack of light is just plain depressing. Nice apartment :) Does it not have blinds over those large windows? that would help with the heat a bit
Hi Christy! Your appartment is sooo sunny and cozy - I love it! Do you have a dining table? I haven't seen it in the video... where do you and Tyler have your dinner/breakfast?
I looove this apartment ! The living room is gorgeous😍 it's soo bright and sunny and the view is amazing thank's to the biig windows !❤ Also your balcony is so beautiful ! and the kitchen is great too ! ❤
Hello Christy, I'm Sofia. I'm just using my father's youtube acct. I am so inspired by you to read more books and to write ☺ Moreover, I am so glad that you are a big fun of One Piece also! hihihi may super fave anime.
hey. just watched the video. really loved it. if it is possible, could you share the name of the apartment. i'm going to adelaide soon and starting to hunt my apartment there. thanks in advance ❤
Hi. I do love this sunny place. It's cute and cosy. My eyes falled in love with this cute apartment. I have just discovered your channel. My native language is not English. I am learning this language. I really love your accent!!!! Your voice is very relaxing. I do hope to find more interesting Australian channels like yours.
おとしだま袋 on the wall (笑) Talking about the thin wall of Japanese apartment, if you live in so called ''マンション'' in Japan, they have a much thicker walls like the one you live in Australia.
Got some questions. Are you renting this apartment? I notice you don't have any window blinds at all, even in your bedroom. How do you remain asleep after the sun rises in the morning? During your apartment hunt, have you managed to find any relatively new apartments without any carpets?
This is so nice. However, i get headaches if its so bright. That why i only have i window in my room and most of the time it covered with black-out curtains.
As always a great video! What an amazing place, it looks really comfortable. Do you need the air conditioning now in the winter too or just during the summer?
Mostly just the summer 😊 But, even if it's cold outside, if it's a sunny day we have once or twice actually used the air con hahah. On the plus side, we hardly use the heater!
It is a rental! It's $400 Australian dollars per week :) But (just to justify that because it feels like a lot) I live here with my partner, we both work good full time jobs, and we don't have to pay for public transport bc we're near our work 😊
@@christy-anne-jones wow that's a little expensive. I'm looking for a rental near my workplace too. Saving on transport and using that amount on rental seems like a good idea. Saves time too.
@@SoGoN We did a lot of research and took ages to find a place; $400, actually, is cheaper than so many of the other apartments so when this came up, we jumped on it. But, yeah, that's what we figured! Why not put the transport budget into the rent budget instead and get a better location and better quality of life 😊
@@christy-anne-jones If it's 400 AUD per week for working couple, it is really affordable for a fully furnished apartment. I mistook it as 400 AUD per week for each person. Do you have any links or tips on how to find a place like this?
@@SoGoN We found it on Realestate (dot) com (dot) au I'm sorry I don't have any tips or tricks--keep an eye out and hopefully more around this price pop up 😊
We have!! Not for ages and ages, but Tyler and I have made it before. He bought the sushi cookbook mostly because it was really cheap and it looked good hahah 😊
We've considered this but because of the bend in walls and lack of insulation we'd have to set up an elaborate system of fans just to get it to work hahah. That's a great suggestion though! I wish we had an easy solution but, at least, the heat is only a problem for a couple months per year 😊
I've been wanting to move to adelaide for awhile. Can anyone give me any advice on affordable areas and things i should know before making a decision (Im from america)
I ADORE how sunny this is!! Can I move in?
Yess! We'll drink lots of tea and black coffee and talk about books all the time ~

I’m glad discovered your videos. I’m an international student studying in Adelaide, and I like the city from your eyes. Cheers!
Omg recently I went for a house inspection in this building. The apartment layout was the same! I loved the view 😍
The picture windows and sunlight make it very homely.
I think so too! It's a really pretty place 😊
I just saw your vlog and I have this strong gut feeling we're in the same apartment complex.
Beautiful! I like how the inside connects with the outside. Just like how the Japanese does it.
Love your spacious new apartment with all those floor to ceiling windows. (Heavy curtains during the hot daylight hours will help that heating problem.)

Thank you, Jim! I am pretty happy 😊 And I wish we could change the curtains, but we're renting so we're not allowed to 😭

a couple of basic Kyrre stools from ikea would work as minimal bedside tables and could be brought through for extra seating if needed

The cutest apartment omg!! I live in Adelaide too but not in anything this cute, I love it so much!

How is sleeping in a bedroom without an air conditioner? (Especially during summers/heat waves in Adelaide)
Is the fan enough to keep it bearable?
