Miyoko ....I'm SO inspired! I've spent the afternoon watching all of your videos & am excited to head to the market for ingredients for EVERYTHING I've seen! Thank you! Will be buying your book straight away.
Found you only two days ago. You are such elegant professional & full of humor. Many call themselves Chefs. I admire your down to earth attitude while given such wealth & culinary wisdom & sharing it with others. Both my husband & myself do appreciate you very much so 🦋
Miyoko you are just too cute for words!! I love your positive energy. I can't wait to try some of your dishes, so glad I found you and I put your books on my wish list too..but I need a suggestion for a blender. Blendtec or the SUPER expensive vitamix??
thats awesome, In my area we see a lot of voodoo chickens and even live ducks that are raised in downtown boston for the local BBQ industry.. its quite terrible. and one block away is the most delightful vegan restaurant with delicious vegan bubble teas!
Dee, the only kind of tofu that has isolated soy protein is the kind in aseptic containers. The kind in the plastic tubs are generally made with just soy beans and magnesium chloride or calcium sulfate, natural mineral coagulants, the way tofu has been made for centuries. So, if it's refrigerated, it's fine - if it's shelf-stable, then it probably has isolated soy protein.
can you please give the name of one tofu brand you do use since the ones with the isolated proteins you do not recommend..reading the packages but I can't find the word isolate and I am just not sure, not an endorsement, simply an enlightment would truly be appreciated..by the way I ordered both books because I couldnt decide...coming this week, so excited..
Hi all. I tested Miyoko's un-Turkey yesterday. The look and yuba skin were glorious! However, the seitan's texture was too dense and chewy for my taste. I'm thinking of modifying the mix by adding some chickpea flour or rolled oats to the vital wheat gluten. Anyone have a similar issue? Didn't knead. Didn't boil, just simmered. So, would love to hear others' experiences - before I take another crack at this. Thanks!
the crepes, Terry the neighbor are fantastic ! the old ladies could of been more grateful esp to the gracious hosts, folks say anything these days... the lady did not even remove her hat. "McGovern who invited you???" see what i mean....
Gluten is one reason I will not go vegan, the other is all of the beans and legumes. I love them but they don't love me! I do way better eating vegetables, meat, fish, seafood and some fruit.
I'm so happy I bought 2 of Miyoko's books. She is a great chef!
I love how you get the V message out there! Your videos are so amusing, they make me smile! :-)

Various places such as Animal Place, Harvest Home Sanctuary, Farm Sanctuary, etc.
what did you use to make the crepes?

Wow! You're the neatest chef. I'd be covered in food by 10 minutes in. Will have to make these recipes. Thank you for sharing this again.
What do you do with your eggs? Just throw them out?
Just curious :)
The chicken themselves eat them because laying eggs is so taxing on their bodies, containing a lot of important nutrients that she needs.
Do you ever make any gluten free crepes?
where are they all rescued from?
2:27 Miyoko!!! 😲😅
Animal Place, the local humane society, people who had to move and get rid of their chickens.

Have you tried the recipe with the modifications yet? I'm excited to hear the results.
Catherine Katin-Grazzini did you do the prebake before you simmered?

So you'll rather kill animals than switch some plants?
I like Blendtec, although I have Vitamix as well. Thanks for your comments!
No, it's a hen. We don't have any roosters. All hens, all rescued.
It's just a little dark chocolate melted with a little non-dairy milk.
