Extraordinary era indeed. And this is an historic final.because no final in the history of international ballroom has ever spawned 5 world champions which these 5 couples became. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Massimo Georgianni and Alessia Manfredini was the 6th couple here and if that's correct then all 6 of them wore the crown. Probably more chance of flying to the moon on a kite than that ever happening again. Thank you Szymon for posting this historical Gem

Dennis Trembley and Adele Preston Tanaka (Trembley at the time) were the last couple. Also, when were Massimi and Alessia professional Blackpool champions?

Indeed, these five couples are Blackpool professional champions. As far as I know, Massimo became a professional later and also fully deserved to be a champion, but reached only the second place in tango, nonetheless, he was the European Champion and was truly a remarkable and unique dancer

Massimo couldn't be in this final. Because he was still Amateur at this time. They became Pro in '96.

Studio Margalima. Yes you and others are correct . M&A came a little latter and the were champions in show dance, so I stand corrected. It doesn't change the fact that this was an epic final for the ages and the level of talent across this entire field here for its time imo has never been equaled and not likely to be. One has to feel for those adjudicators trying to come up with an eventual winner. What a task.

Yes, not against development at all, thoroughly enjoy todays dancing. But i started comps at this time of the great champions and it was very impressive to see al those charismatic couples on television. It was almost an heroic age. They each and all had such a specific style. And what is revealing is that the crowd seem to be a lot louder and cheering in those days. For instance, look up the American Dance festival in 2016 with Segatori. The crowd seemed quite dead... Could be that anyone is quite impressed. But the atmosphere feels quite boring from looking at it on RUclips. How different was that in the mid 90's.
Btw. A year later the Hiltons won, with Barrichi respectively coming in 2nd and 3rd.

@@StudioMargalima I.m not against development either and the quality of movement is incomparible. My grievance is that important things have been and are being sacrificed in the pursuit of those physical skills. My thought is that it's all feeling a bit overcooked and if the line between good movement and good dancing hasn't been crossed already it soon will be if it keeps on this path.
