It’s a shame to learn that the one that saw combat was scrapped. The design and history is very interesting and would definitely be suited to serve in a museum after leaving Europe. With that said the in game version can go toe to toe with a tiger ll given the right circumstances. Thank you for this video, I definitely learned something new today and hope to call carry this knowledge over to War Thunder where the tank resides.
Very interesting video indeed! I've heard about the Super Pershing (the up-armored one, that is) but didn't know about the two-stage ammo cannon version, nor the fact that this was a one-of-a-kind tank. Very nice video, I enjoyed it greatly!
I think the Super-Pershing and what they did with it in Europe illustrates the frustration that tankers felt being under-equipped through most of the war vs. German over-kill.
"we will deck ourselves in the armor of fallen enemies, turn their own weapons against them, vanquish them from within as well as from without, death to the emperor" -Almost works as well "now" as during the 30 year war.
The thermal armor was a polish invention not Sweden but yeah it would be cool but u should research the armor for Sweden and it’s been doing bad for them
3 went to Europe as far as I know , one made it back , one broke down and got scrapped and one got knocked out by a Jagdtiger in a city or town . Anyways this cannon was way to big for that tank or that turret . At the back there was a counter wheight installed , to balance it out .
“Get there first with the most men.“ - Nathan Bedford Forrest It is ashamed that the U.S. did not have this fine tank in great numbers before D-day. Patton would have looked great riding into Berlin on one of these tanks.
The tank wasn’t scrapped the tank survived the war with ship back to the US right now sits I know this for a fact because I’ve seen it I grew up playing in it the tank is alive and well and has all its original weapon systems up and running
3:50 According to my sources, the 90mm T41 APCBC can only penetrate the Panther’s 85mm upper glacis @ 55° (equivalent to 213mm RHA vs APCBC) up to 250 meters; the T43 APBC can penetrate it up to 750 meters, (Panther’s armor is now equivalent to 174mm vs APBC) while the T44 HVAP can only penetrate at 700 meters, (Panther’s armor is now equivalent to 293mm - slope multiplier vs HVAP at 55° is x3.45!). In other words, you are repeating Hinnicutt’s mistaken claim, (page 140) that the Panther’s upper glacis was penetrable by the 90mm T15E1 gun up to the range of 2,600 yards. Also, it cannot penetrate the Tiger II’s upper glacis of 150mm @ 50°, not even if at point blank range with any type of round! Note also that people out there do not appreciate the fact that the 88mm KwK 43’s sheer penetrating power was exceeded by the T15E1, only if the latter is using the rare T44 HVAP (which was not available by the war's end). Using the more common and readily available APCBC, the 88mm KwK 43 remained supreme in WWII only beaten by its cousin, the 128mm KwK44.

@@joegatt2306 True I just didn't like how sneery this post was, but hey at least we reached somewhat of a neutral zone. Btw What is your top 3 tanks of the war (WW2) ?
I love how the second I saw the grass when the Super Pershing was shown, I knew that was War Thunder. I forgot the map name, but that map can be quite enjoyable to play on.
They do, mostly since german players don't have ears or eyes, it's an adaption they develop after holding W for several days at a time, their fingers are stronger than a normal person's due to the incessant arguments in chat and their vehement defence of german vehicles.
It's great listening to a guy with Asperger's frantically telling us all about nothing of any importance. This entire lecture was also delivered to his extended family on Xmas day at dinner and is also the spiel he uses to chat up women. Youcan imagine the flying spit and the entreaties:oh please don't go there is so much more for you to learn!

Great video bud. The pictures you found are awesome.
one of my favorite vehicles in WT.. I just love those extra armors especially the one with "ears"..
Too bad it’s repair cost is 18k SL
Wow, simply outstanding video. Thank you.
The footage for the video is awesome

could you do history video on the lorraine 40t? Or any other french veichles or roughly that time period?
The tank that kill its prey and ripped its parts to use them as armor, epic
A7V Would be interesting.
Like the super Pershing tanks
One of the most brutal looking tanks ever built. It's a shame it costs way too much to repair in WT
If you need to scrap a panther everytime xD sure it costs much :P
That's 27 vehicles built. 2 pilots plus 25 "production" models.
They should have added space armor on the side too.
Tankenstain Can you please talk about the cv90 family and the newest model the cv90120 ghost with its futuristic anti thermal armor?

Ironically the lack of combat seen by this Tank and the Pershings kinda says the Armored force was right.
I know its gotten a ton of hate over the years but would love to learn more about the RU 251. Love my little killer.
Imagine if you did a video on add on armour for tanks

please mention kilometers too in your videos, please
Man , they should have gotten the Pershing in action faster. Could have should have I guess
How abot a look at the romanian IAR 80/81

Why is no one talking about how absolutely dope it is that it uses Panther armor as it’s spaced armor?
