LMS Stanier Jubilees

  • We take a look a the four preserved Sir William Stanier 4-6-0 Jubilee class. Classified 5XP by the LMS (later classified as 6P and 6P5F by British Railways).
    45690 Leander (1936, Crewe), owned by Chris Beet and based out of Carnforth
    45699 Galatea, seen running as 45562 Alberta, a locomotive which Galatea now carries many parts of (1936, Crewe), part of the West Coast Railway Company, based out of Carnforth
    45596 Bahamas (1935, North British Locomotive Company), owned by the Bahamas Locomotive Society and based on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway
    5593 Kolhaphur (1934, North British Locomotive Company), based at Tyseley Locomotive Works and currently awaiting overhaul

    Hi my name is Phil i did 50yrs on the footplate 8yrs on steam i started at edgeley shed in 1961i fired a number of these locomotive as well as other i finished my time out at longsight as a driver on the 19th of February I fired the flying Scotsmen from Manchester to derby works and on the 25th of August 1973 I fired lender from derby to Manchester it was red then I finished in 2011 Regards Phil.

    Si hay algo que me encanta es ver como se desplazan los ferrocarriles Ingleses y sobre todo las locomotoras a vapor ya que sólo la máquina hace ruido y los vagones son una seda , me encanta su sonido ,gracias.

    I don’t know why but 1:58 with that fairly sharp bend and the speed it’s going makes it look like it’s a Hornby train set
