- Like playing games? why not have your own arcade?! That's what this collector thought as he spent 15 years amassing hundreds of rare and vintage arcade games and built himself his OWN arcade at his house!
Another insanely cool collectors tour! Развлечения
Instantly loved Mathew, just his demeanor! Nerds Unite!
What a sweet guy!
Not a surprise since your photo is a computer space .............. :)
okay
Unite! :)
Well done dude. That's one hell of a man cave.
These collectors are so incredible. Thanks for bringing us their stories.
I'm glad you enjoyed my collection. :)
@@mathewrs77 I noticed you have Karate Champ, I wonder if people remember that game was in the movie Blood Sport with Jean Claude Van Damme when he first met Jackson. Do you have Chase HQ, or have you played it? That was one of my favourite driving games. Once the lock downs end I may have to take a trip out to Alberta just to visit your arcade.
@@D33Lux I do have a working Chase HQ. It's a fun game. Many of the games were in movies or tv shows back in the day.
Just that sound of loads of machines running... so evocative. Takes me back to my teens. Amazing.
Awesome Guy , memories triggered , I'm 62 now but good God almighty when I think about the money I spent at arcades and the entertainment it provided . Thanks for this Trip down memory lane
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed my collection.
"Just another outing with Dad!" Stephen looks to have really enjoyed this adventure! Childhood memories being made. People and their "hobbies" are so c👀l....!
I was born in 79 and watching this caused so many awesome memories to flood back in. Arcades were a BIG part of my life in the early years. Him talking about his public arcade and paying $20.00 to play till closing time reminded me of going to Super Saturday at Putt-Putt Golf & Games back in the early 90’s where we would pay a fee to play from open to 2pm. Most popular game when I started going there was Street Fighter 2, then Mortal Kombat came along and everyone played that, then the Tekken series took off. I played in a lot of tournaments for Tekken 2 and 3. It got so addictive that I’d skip school just to go to the arcade to practice. I miss the arcades so much. Having a console just isn’t the same. I applaud 👏 this man for what he does and for bringing all those game cabinets back to life. Props to you 🤜🤛!
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed my collection.
I was born in 79 too. I remember being like 10 or so and one of my friends had his birthday party at a place called Aladdin's Castle (arcade). It was in our mall and we had the place all to ourselves. The mall closed early on Sundays and we got to go there after mall hours. A ton of these games were in that arcade. Definitely a nostalgic trip here with this video.
I turned 13 in 1982 and this would have been my ultimate fantasy. Soooo cool!
My friend has a second floor in his garage thats a full 90s arcade probably 40 arcade machines, air hockey, crazy carpet, shuffle board, pin pong, pin ball
What an amazing collection! I can't believe he collected all those in just 15 years. Wow! Thank you for sharing this with us Alex. 👍
It's been quite the ride. And most of the games were acquired locally.
Pure joy on Mathew’s face when Steven was playing the game!
The main reason I'm restoring these games is to see the joys on people's faces. Joys on the older ones like me that used to play the games. Then the joy of people playing and enjoying them with their kids that didn't have this experience.
"Matthew"
@@homersimpson5280 "Mathew"
also surprised pinball LEDs made it better
He comes off as a really nice guy. Thanks for doing the video on him.
That joint is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Speaking as a kid who used to religiously hang out in arcades in the late 70s, 80s, and 90s.
I do think that's quite a brilliant business idea for a collector. Very hard to steal and what's more, this isn't just a 'go have fun with your wife and kids' situation. Mathew should/could pitch it to ALL AGES of any family/friendship group and he wouldn't be telling any lie at all. What a great episode and thanks to Mathew for sharing.
I have a commercial arcade that is open to public. We have many families coming in and many bookings for birthday parties and sports teams. Check out Arkadium Retro Arcade. :)
Cool channel will have to come back a watch more of your videos.
Thanks Alex and Stephen!
The guy who played Willow is Warwick Davis. Love that movie! Remember Time Bandits also?
Have a FABULOUS Valentines Day❤ Archibald Family. Nice video🥰
Fun!! Back in the late 70's early 80's our family and friends ate at a pizza parlor every Sunday for and us kids would get $2 in quarters and be set free in the arcade. I remember so many of those games!! Good memories and a great collection!!
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed my collection.
What a great guy to share his one of a kind collection with such enthusiasm.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed. :)
@@mathewrs77 I did and thank you and Alex.
I love you showing off other's cool collections. Thanks!!
What a sweet, smart and talented guy! Really enjoyed seeing his collection.
Thank you for the kind words. :)
I've never been more jealous of a human being than at this moment. Wow, what a collection and experience.
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed my collection.
I grew up as a small kid with a vector arcade game called Battlezone in the house. It was incredibly cool and i have very fond memories of the 80s arcades. I'm glad to see it come back into fashion. i HIGHLY recommend getting a few games for your new basement, i think the whole family can enjoy them and even the grandkids in the far future!
That sounds so fun.
Loved Battlezone!
Omg! This is paradise for me! So many awesome games I used to play!! Mathew big blessings for you and keep up the good work!!😄👍👍🕹🎮
I'm glad you enjoyed! Thank you.
Just when I ask myself, “on what adventure will Alex take us next?” Matthew, a very super nice guy invites you to look his collection.

Great game for sure. I'm glad you liked the collection.
was stoked to see sini-star in there biggest arcade cab collection in a house on youtube maybe only last gamer has more
Wow how fantastic!! All them pinball machines awesome !! Reminded me of the good old days in the arcades 70's and 80's. Thanks for sharing this us Alex brings back lots of good memories ❤ love from across the pond 🇬🇧 xx
I'm glad you enjoyed my collection. It's been a labor of love.
The host is so polite and happy, is energy is so welcoming.
thought it was metal jesus for a second
Lots of fun at the arcade collection. Alex, you should ask the electronic engineer if he could set up an arcade game you want to put in your basement with optional hookup for wireless earbuds for two players (or just a volume control on the machine might work too). That way your son and a friend could play the arcade game without annoying anyone else in your new house.
Hearing those all turn on had nostalgia all over it. I got chills.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed.
Wow. Bubble bobble my all time favorite. Matthew is awesome.
Love our field trip today, what a neat collection. Kinda takes me back, to a pinball place we used to hang out as teenagers (Pinball Pete's in Michigan. The one in East Lansing opened in 1976, still open to this day. They got another location in Ann Arbor. Both are near college towns).
Enjoyed. The collector has an amazing building and collection, Very nice!
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed.
7:20 OMG I LOVED THIS MINI MARIO PINBALL MACHINE!! Wow!! So much nostalgia. Absolutely incredible.
Awesome, and I’m a 70 year old Grandma. Haven’t seen this many working machines since the early 80’s. My 8 year old grandson would love this!🤗. $20, are you kidding…..too bad you’re in Alberta.🥺
Thanks for taking us on the tour though!👍🏻💙💜💚
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed.
This video really brought back some memories. My first apartment after getting out of the Navy was right across the street from a pinball arcade, and I spent a looooot of time there. Later on, I spent probably hours and way too many quarters playing some of those arcade style video games, both in arcades and in bars.
Thanks. I'm glad you liked my collection.
What a great place!. I grew up with those "old" arcade games. I want to play some of them so bad! My sister had that black light carpet in her Livingroom for a while .. it was amazing! Her little ones loved it. 💖
Thanks. I'm glad you liked my collection.
Alexander. so appreciate you sharing your family adventures with us(me) ☮️
Whoa! What memories! My memory, Pac Man, Centipede, Mario Bros., Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, the driving ones, shooting ones, 😍😍😍😍
I've got all those and more.
I'm so glad there are people like this in the world.

What a lovey gentlemen…he just oozed pride and rightly so..awesome collection and a great hobby that so many people can enjoy …o loved that you had to remove your shoes ….that carpet was special gave such a real arcade experience ❤️👏🏻🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧💕jane
It will never be the same again, that experience to be a kid in the 80's and stepping into an arcade establishment was like going an amusement park, the people and culture was way more engaging and active, everyone had alot of fun and we talked alot, if it wasn't an arcade we went to roller rings, ice hockey, camping, we did alot of fun things, todays culture can just imagine what it was like but for us 4 quarters was like having gold in our hands, the sounds of bells, rings, laughter, chatter, we are living in awful times today we really are, call us what you want but Gen-X had a blast
Alex,,, never heard you speachless...... Lololol... What a collection !!!!
When the Winters are long and cold, it makes people more creative!
How fun! I'd love to be friends with that guy! I grew up playing in arcades. We bought a cocktail table last year that has Galaga, Ms. Pacman, Digdug, etc. We would have rather had the stand type, but this saved us some money. My favorite games were Pinball, Centipede, Millipede, Q*bert, Rampage, and driving-type games. This brings back lots of wonderful memories!
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed seeing my collection. :)
If you like driving type games you would have loved Chase HQ.
This arcade style is great. It should be as evident in many commercial establishments. It is highly recommendable for all types of age, for them to be as busy, and enjoy details of time and maintenance. Congratulations.
Thanks for sharing this!
We thank you for watching
I played Pac Man lots and loved it. Originally I played Pong on the TV lol this place is great. You have a great day and Happy Valentine's day
That was awesome !! Sweet collection ! Ms Pac Man was my go to !
I put off watching this episode because I am an old lady and I didn't think it was going to be interesting, but that was really fun!
Awesome collection!....
Love the Honda Odyssey --- I used to own a 1979 Honda Odyssey fl250... they are fun to drive. I wish I still had it.
A great collection. I was hoping to see the " Star Wars " arcade game where you actually sat down inside
the cockpit of an X-Wing Fighter.
I've had the chance to buy the sitdown version but have passed. Takes up too much valuable space. 😁
Fantastic!
This guy is my idol. This has always been a dream of mine. Being on westcoast these games i never could find cheap.
Thanks! Just need to be patient and look for cheaper games. You also need to be able to repair them.

He started collecting a long time ago, around the time everyone was trying to get rid of their cabs to keep up with the changing times. He bought most of these cabs at just the right time. He isn't a millionaire, just a lucky guy that made good decisions at the right time. He's an investor, he's a re-seller, he's a craftsman, an engineer. He's always in the right place at the right time.
That Paperboy!! Awesome!!
*The episode I've been waiting for since I started watching Curiosity Inc so many years ago!*
Wow, this man is awesome. Arcade games 🕹 will never really go out of style. Thanks for taking me along.
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed my collection.
How exciting, your videos are never dull. Thanks for sharing!
Matthew has an awesome hobby, his house filled with every arcade game you would ever want. You would never get bored with that many games. I don’t believe arcade games will ever go out of style. Im amazed he can still find parts to fix them with, being an electronic engineer really helps. Whats with Stephen running around with no coat, and short sleeves! Aaaah, to be young again.😂. Thanks Matthew for allowing Alex to show us a fantastic hobby and some really fun old arcade games.
I'm glad you enjoyed. :)
That's another big collection! My first job was working at an arcade and by the end of the second week I managed to get 6 pinball machines and a super breakout for free and saved them from going to the dump!(and my dad was mad at me when he saw that the garage was full!) I don't have any machines now, but have noticed that they have shot up in value!
They have gone up crazy. I wouldn't be able to afford most the games now a days.
Just Awesome
Guy seems really nice/cool. Down too earth with a passion for something.
Thanks for your kind words. Definitely a passion and addiction.
really cool ! tron , dig dug , moon patrol , star wars vector , tempest , pheonix , i used to love playing these machines
This is a great way to encourage kids to become a electrical engineer! Great job!
Woweee that collection is so cool! Thank you for sharing x
Soo awesome!!!!
Oh wow! What a collection! When our boys were young my favorite was BurgerTime.
The artwork on the walls is amazing velvet too!!
Wow that is so cool... thanks for sharing.. Cheers!
Awesome ! would love to visit and play them Arcades.
Pole position is the first arcade game I ever played. Seeing the cabinet brought back some memories. I was so tiny back then I had the wheel about forehead level, but it was still so awesome.
Wow. This is amazing.
What an awesome collection! Loved it
LIKED and FAVOURITED. If I ever need a nostalgic pick-me-up in the months and years to come, this will be my go-to video for sure.
Bravo to Matthew, an electronics engineer, for his dedication to and knowledge of repairing these classic arcade games and breathing new life into them. :)
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed.
That was awesome! My faves that I liked to play back in the day were Star Wars, Zookeeper, Frogger, Pacman, and Donkey Kong. Thanks Stephen for the great memory of Star Wars!
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed my collection.
17:47...you flew by Satan's Hollow! I bought one of those for $50 non-working in about 2007. I had about 18 games total in my basement arcade. Because of the subject matter, I had to move it out and hide it when more religeous folk visited. I sold it for about $1,700 within owning only about a month. Subject matter is everything. BTW, the coin counter only had 500 plays, and I bought it 20+ years old. No One wanted it around! Cool to see one sitting there.
Galloping ghost is the arcade that has all the classic and pinballs the only thing that’s going to make me interested in going back to the arcade is when they release new games such as street fighter 6 tekken 8 all these games that’s in galloping ghost can be played on consoles or on mame 32 on PC not really hard to play these the arcade machines break a lot I wonder how much they cost to fix
last gamer makes galloping ghost look like a laundry mat arcade in comparison
That’s funny someone like you who doesn’t even know galloping ghost the largest arcade in the world comes a plays in from Japan China United Kingdom you need to do a research cause you don’t know what your saying
Galloping ghost has over one thousand games why would anyone want to go to a different arcade that has less games think agai
dream boy cause what I see in this arcade it’s missing over 300 games that galloping ghost has
Super duper video Brother Alexander. Totally Cooled-Out awesomeness of a Vintage video game collection. Brings Me back to when I was a Kid. Thanks for sharing Your Adventures. Keep up Your Great work with Your Family and Business 😀 👍 ♥️ 🇨🇦🇺🇸🌎🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉💯💯

Love those old game cabinets.
Wow.....I recall the arcade machines we threw out when I worked a store. Wish I had taken the.home! This is awesome.

Wow! You meet the most amazing people! Thanks for bringing us along 😁
That was great! So nice of him to show us all that and the basement work area.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed.
Looked fun! One of my favorites back in day was a game called "Gauntlet ". 4 players at the same time, was a blast with friends. " The wizard has shot food" lol
Lmbo! My sister used to get the lady warrior, I usually got the wizard or the elf. Shooting of the food was controversial.
great game
Great video. You're going to need sound-proofing in the basement now. Stephen showing a typical teen aversion to outerwear in cool weather.
Without these kind of nerds the world wouldn't go round !
We go round and round. Need to keep the past alive.
Awesome Alex you are one lucky man to be able to see these collections. Wow wow wow. Thank you for sharing these awesome collections.
Hey Alex loving these adventures your going on. The collection series is fun and exciting.Thinking this could be a new part of your videos. It’s a heck of a lot easier on your lungs and your back. Love the arcade games. the led bulbs added a whole new dimension to the games.
It's so fun to see the happiness on these folks' faces when they know someone really appreciates their collections.
Fast forward to the future: Alex's basement looks like an 80s video arcade complete with black light carpet. :)
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed my collection
How fun to have your own Arcade. Great pinball machines. ♥️ Happy Valentines Day ♥️♥️♥️
As a (retro)gamer I absolutely appreciate Matthew’s mancave! Absolutely adore the sign! I am glad my wife restricts my collecting habits to my study and hobby and game-room and absolutely forbids me to drag a full size arcade cabinet in the home. I don’t have the skills to repair all these. I grew up with a pinball machine and gamble (fruit machine) set to free play in our attic. Pong was my first video game experience in 1976 and I have been playing games since then. We hung out at a local amusement park arcade near my middle and high school after school back in the day. Quite often machines would be doen even back then. You need some serious electronics repair skills to keep those running. To have your collection playable for others to enjoy renting out the “arcade” is an excellent way to be able to keep up with repairs and maintenance.
This must have meant some very extensive electrical rewiring with separate power circuits with breakers to have it all up and running. I can imagine having some solar panels on the roof might help out. I am curious how Matthew keeps tabs on the quality of the circuits, solenoids etc does he have some sort of preventative maintenance routine going on? Matthew being an electronic engineer probably is the only way to do this safely. Of course for most something like this would only be possible with these almost full size re-production new arcade machines. But these have flat screen HD monitors and not the CRTs. CRTs and plasma screens have amazing colors and the scanlines really make the blocky pixels more organic. I reckon LED or OLED screens finally come close enough.
Thanks for sharing the fun. And your genuine excitement comes across well!
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed my collection. The electrical cost a considerable amount of money for the arcade.
What an amazing collection..such passion...
Wow pretty neat arcade! I’m enjoying these collection videos!

Man, he's the King of the Nerds. What a cool collection.

Such a good idea to feature individual collections in your locale. I'm sure the collectors appreciate showing-off their collections as much as we enjoy seeing them.
I'm glad you liked the video. I do enjoy showing off my collection! :)
Awesome collection!❤
And forty days later they found Alex and his son Stephen lost in the jungles of the arcade temples!
I was getting a bit bored of seeing videos of so called mystery boxes, so I kinda lost track of you. But I am happy I rediscovered you. This is the coolest thing ever.
Very Fun! ... And I love the carpet!!!
