I really wish I would have someone to talk about and drink good wines. None of my friends enjoy a good wine and when they drink wine it's just to get drunk. I'm young and so are my friends but for me a good Wine is a form of art and for them it's just a drug. I have no idea where to start but your videos are giving me some guidance. The videos are informative and amusing at the same time! Greetings from germany - Yuno.
I’m drinking Taittanger right now and it’s my all-time favorite. I had a Roederer which is a bit sweeter than Taittanger and really lovely. BTW, I just saw my wine store in San Mateo is now carrying Andrew Clouet, that you guys previously heralded, and I’m convinced it’s because of you guys.
Hey Guys, I am surprised by how high Taittinger got in the rankings. However, I have found from experience that the best NVs ebb and flow from year to year. Bollinger is my favourite because of the horizontal and vertical complexity. Horizontal because of the range of champagne districts that the grapes were grown in and the vertical because the number of harvest years that appear in the final cuvee. Please don't stop what you are doing because with every tasting, you empower your audience. The Best of Bacchus to you Both!
@wineking this is great, but the Roederer Brut Premier you tasted has been discontinued by the winery!! Now it’s been replaced with a new 242 Collection Brut. Hopefully it lives up to its predecessor!!
Sparkling wine is very popular here in England at the moment. But it surprises me that we’re able to grow anything with our weather. It goes from one extreme to the next and we get a lot of rain at random times. But I’d be very excited to see a session with popular English wines in general, even wines we often drink over here and have access to.
@@feralfeline6137 it’s a bit cheaper in the UK but even as a Brit it is still overpriced. I’m pretty fond of the non-sparkling whites from Devon too. Just don’t try an English Red…
I would love Peter to blind taste them. I had a few and I hope I don’t insult anyone by saying they are either mediocre or half-baked at best. Add to that the price point of NV to vintage English sparkling, compare that to champagne, and it’s a no-starter. Especially Balfour stood out to me for how bad their wines were during a blind tasting. No idea how those wines got their positive reviews.
If I can go as far as recommending you guys an English sparkling to try that would be the Exton Park, there are many other well known names around but this one is the wine that made me think that English sparkling is absolutely brilliant. Hope you get the chance to try it! very happy to have found your channel!
Nice selection Jae! I actually have a VLOG coming up about visits to Taittinger and Bollinger. I'm always a fan of the later (Special Cuvée). Chin chin! I wanna taste those English sparklers Peter is all about, I've never been that impressed with them.
English sparkling wine is generally excellent. Toured Nyetimber vineyard over the summer and done a few others too. Recently picked up a bottle of vintage Gusbourne although I am yet to try. Would love to see an Engliah sparkling wine tasting by you both. Cheers 🍾🥂
I would love to see Peter’s opinion on Russian sparkling. It has a strong influence from soviet champagne which makes it unique. Not for everyone’s liking, but I love that style
You guys are great! Very informative and fun to boot! But how about trying some lesser known varietal wines from the Midwest of the US?! As a winemaker in the forgotten area of the country, I would highly recommend trying some wines made from hybrid grapes? We make our living on these “every day” wines, and often surprise the most seasoned wine drinkers with their high quality. I would be happy to suggest some if you are feeling daring? And you just might learn something that the rest of us east of Colorado already know. Cheers guys! Keep up the good work!
2021 has given me plenty of reasons to celebrate. I'm looking forward to wrapping up the year with some nice Champagne. Thank you for helping me pick out a bottle worthy of the celebration!
Peter If by any chance your shedule of your Mosel Trip is not completely booked with great names may I humbly suggest you should visit the small wineary Eulenturm in Briedel. Its a small family wineary run by really nice people. They produce a wonderful Riesling Sekt sans dosage that is worth (at least for me) a detour.
Another great video! I'd be interested to see a review of North American wines from outside California. Oregon, Washington and British Columbia all are capable of producing some good stuff but I'd still like to hear Peter tear them to shreds.
Great Olympic battle. Taittinger La Francaise Brut is widely available in my area, but Taittinger Brut Reserve is not available. What is the difference between these wines? The tech sheets appear identical.
