      I lived in england for years and they eat lots of jam on toast in the morning. they like to snack on it all day too. sometimes with marmite. Bacon and eggs takes up too much time to cook and eat before going to work. Don't know what kind of england you were living in.

    Toast and jam is something you'd eat at home. In a cafe you'd be charged about £5:50 for that.
    It'd be egg and avocado on toast & soy latte for around £15 quid London
