Sorry for all your losses Scott. Hurts to see the tank like this after being a fan for years, I can only imagine what it's like for you. Glad to see that a good amount of fish and coral pulled through anyhow. I honestly wouldn't have imagined that clam to still be more than 2 pieces of shell picked clean but awesome to see it's fine. Think I saw mention of this in a comment on last video but if you were to open a Patreon, you'd definitely have my support. Take care Scott, hope all goes well from now on.
Really appreciate your honesty and calm presence on RUclips. You’re my favourite reefing channel and it’s great to see you back. I hope everything is getting better!
So glad your back Scott your channel was one I always watched when starting out on my journey, now I have what I think is a pretty good looking tank, nothing like the size of yours, but my little slice of the ocean. Keep up the great video's mate I'm sure it will bounce back better than ever 🙏🙏👍👍
I appreciate your honesty in showing your tank after six months, in todays times nobody show their ugly side of the Reefing. Everything is perfection. That’s why I was wondering for a while where did you go. Hope everything is good with you. Welcome back
@@MileHighReefers sale thing I do when I post something about my tank, keeping it real with no fake news. Is the only way to teach new reefers how to keep it simple in this hobby.
Been there done that. Unfortunately during my situation I ended up selling off my whole system knowing I was not going to be able to take care of my fish and coral tanks. Good to see you are back. For me it took five years and some education and a new career!
Alot more made it than I was thinking.. YEAH Scott!! Not a total loss and on road to recovery now ur back;) Praying for you and ur critters for a "smoother road" ahead! Look forward to seeing you again! I still have some little sps frags, purple Monti, and a few others to donate to ur "welcome home" project;) Lemme kno, Sparky Mike
Truly amazing that you can reboot this tank after 6 months if you wanted too. Glad to see you, hope things are ok. Thank god you didn't have a fire. You have a positive outlook, Good luck and we want to see many more years of your videos..Amazing how the clam survived
Thanks Scott for showing your tank after 6 months. Alot of folks wouldn’t have done so. With a little tlc I hope your tank gets back to its former glory. Alot of the corals still look good and I know you’ll be able to bring back the ones that didn’t fare well.
Hi Scott I used to have a 100 gallon tank but my mum and dad split up and we had to sell it but last year i bought a fluval evo still miss the 100 gallon but for my birthday looking at getting a fluval flex 32.5 gallon I have been obsess with the hobby from being 6 I can still remember watching you blue tang video that is my dream fish to keep and I am 12 currently and looking after my Owen tank keep up the good vids
Congrats on the Fluval! It’s a super cool tank. I miss my blue tang. It was always my favorite fish. I hope to get another one someday. You will get yours it just takes time. The best part is by the time you get it you will be ready to care for it.
Glad to see your still kicking after all this time when I 1st got into your channel I was - year in the hobby I’m 6 now I’ve been growing with your more and more I am blooming! But always learning lol anyways take care Scott always awesome to see. I see we have similar fish taste I have a Tomini a purple tang, a Picasso clown, a 8 line wrasse, sunshine chromis, clown goby and a royal gramma I’m old school TLC is always important but sometimes life gets in the away not your fault mate. I also hate the teal mushrooms ):
I’m so glad your back my friend! I missed your videos. I don’t know where you were but I sincerely wish you the best. Hey Scott. Long time fan of your channel. I noticed there are some corals that look like they have flat worms. Look at 3:08 Good luck with your tank. It inspired me to get my 210 gallon reef tank.
Thank you so much 😊 flatworms are out of control. I’m not sure how I’m going to fix that one. I might try and pull the fish and dose flatworm exit. That’s more of a long term thing
@@MileHighReefers I had that problem recently too. They ate my torch coral. The lfs suggested spotted mandarin gobys or a leopard wrasse would help control the population. I bought both and I don't see them in my tank anymore. Hope this helps.
Well I guess everything didn't make it but...it looks way better than the other day love how chill you seem to be about fixing the tank over time. Sorry for your losses.
Hey love your content. I know it may be personal but was just curious in general how come u had stoped making videos for 6 months? If you don’t want to answer I totally understand I just must have missed in previous videos why you were taking off for six months.
@@MileHighReefers I know you can do that make take some time. But screw ich get that tank abs fish perfect again! Make mile high reefers great again lol
All things considered it's really not that bad. No where near a crash. As someone else said the tank still looks better than most. If your filtration can handle it and you're not to scared of pushing the nutrients power feed the fish. Put some auto feeders on since you're not seeing it everyday and give them frozen food when you see them.
I’ll definitely get those fish fattened up! Downstairs was pretty much as bad as it gets upstairs I can fix. Unfortunately some of the coral I lost are not replaceable
in my experience, corals with more unique colourations, ie gold torch, gold hammers, gold frogspawns, red cyanrinas etc are always the first to die. The corals with 'plain' or 'standard' colouration seem to be the hardiest.. Looking forward to the rebuild, mate!
beautiful tank and fish, however I wish more reefers would understand many of these Tangs really need to be in the ocean. They are not like a clownfish that can be fine in a 50 gallon, tangs should have vast amounts of range that home aquariums cannot provide but this industry is FILLED with adults with a child-like mentality to shove animals into small containers their whole life. I am not implying that you are one of these people, I don't know the story about that tang, maybe it's a rescue from another reefer but that tank is too small no matter what hobbyist say. We should try to look at things from the animals' perspective if we are going to keep them beyond their will.
What kind of cruel, morally depraved, terrible person do you have to be to let animals die just to get back at someone like that. I'm sorry you know who let your animals die. You are far better off without someone that immature.

In some kind of sick way, this is an incredible experiment and my mind is blown by how much survived and how good some of those corals look.
It really is a crazy science experiment 😂

Really pleased your posting again mate !! Watched the last video , real shame my 8 year old says she's upset for you as we have a 125 mixed reef.
Thank you so much 😊 it’s so great that your 8 year old is in to reefing! That’s such a great thing to share
During the 6 months was the fish fed! Hang in there! Love your videos
They where fed, I don’t know how much but they did get some food
So what happened that the tank went 6 months with no maintenance?
???
Glad to see u back..I hope whatever u were gone for is ok.. I hope ur doin well cuz u don't really look like u r.. u got real thin..
Things are going in the right direction now. I’m thin because I started eating right and taking care of myself
I can't wait to see i wish you are able to go bigger i really want to see what you can do with it be safe
Bigger is now a real possibility! It will take a while but maybe 🤔
I hope so i have been here for years i was hoping do just to see what you do with it

Sorry for your loss just went through something similar sucks man but live and learn
Thanks man sorry to hear about your struggles. Hopefully everything turns around for you
Such a shame Scott but you will get it back. 👍

Nice to see you back scott 👍👍

The tank looks great
I'm sorry to hear of what happened. I must have a actually missed why you was away for 6 months and why the systems crashed
i feel bad 😞 but glad you’re ok you’re yank to sorry for your loss
I’m going to lose coral cause I’m in the middle of a move my lights haven’t been on in 3 days
Did I see the silver surfer palaustrea Jake give you survive? If so that's awesome. Tank is looking good and I know it will get even better. 👍
I’d did survive. It’s more purple now. Color is way off in the tank right now
Can you explain what caused you to neglect the tank to the point that animals died from it?
Love it as always Scott. Sorry about the ich maybe run the tank fallow and treat the fish and rid the ich???
I’m thinking about that. If I do that I can also treat for the flatworms at the same time. The hard part will be catching the fish
@@MileHighReefers I know you can do that make take some time. But screw ich get that tank abs fish perfect again! Make mile high reefers great again lol
Scott u have The largest devils hand I ever saw I love it

I always liked that big Spongode Monti. It will color up in no time 👍 Which lights are you using? I thought you had Giesemann Tezla or the Kessil?
I have 2 250 watt metal halides, 4 tubes of T5 s 3 Kessil A360x and 2 Kessil a160s
glad to see that almost everything survive, this is a great opportunity to think on a new aquascape , you should give more space to fish to swim
Thank you so much. These are great ideas
My spongodes looks like that haha! Well it's recovering and now has some lime green growth but the majority of old growth is that color.
One of these days we’ll get them colored up😊
What’s the difference between a crown leather and a devils hand?
in my experience, corals with more unique colourations, ie gold torch, gold hammers, gold frogspawns, red cyanrinas etc are always the first to die. The corals with 'plain' or 'standard' colouration seem to be the hardiest..
Looking forward to the rebuild, mate!
Thanks Mat! I have noticed the same thing. I can’t really explain why it works that way but I expect it’s why most wild coral are brown
How fast did you raise the alk? I need to raise mine from 5.5 to 8ish
Great content as always!!! So did you do a water change on this big tank or did you just bring the parameters back to where they needed to be?
No water change I just started fixing the perimeters. Seems to be working so far
Scott you really got lucky
What happened to his tank? Why 6 months? I love his tank
I really don’t want to say but I think it will all make sense in time
I'm shocked anything is alive lot's of brown tho, you've got your hans full.😊✌🌿
Me too. Basement is what I was expecting upstairs so I guess it could have been much worse
NIce tank!
Poor little guys, I hope they didn't suffer terribly. 😢
Me too 😥
Were your fish dead in the tank or did they simply disappear and get consumed by the other inhabitants?
I didn’t find the bodies I’m guessing the clean up crew and other fish ate them
So no one fed the tank for 6 mos? No top off or anything how is anything still alive? Amazing
👍👍
👋👍
😀👍
Let's party
im shocked you so diffrent
RIP RINGKINS
