  • When an object is on the water's surface, not all of them experience the same amount of upthrust. The buoyant force or upthrust force is independent of a material's size, volume, or circumferential area. The weight of the fluid displaced by it determines the buoyant force or upthrust force. The Greek scientist Archimedes made the discovery when he stepped into his overflowing bathtub. Air balloons, ships, submarines, and other structures are all designed using this theory. The density of the substance suspended in the water is also ascertained using this method.
