“Gets you in the mood to watch some toddlers” is a new top 5 Joe quote
Pokemon is the biggest snub on the list for me. For a show all about becoming the best trainer, the lyrics build excitement, the instrumental evolves & adds new layers which keep it exciting fresh throughout, great use of the show's motto in the theme. Exceptional theme.
The bigger thing is the snubs that weren't even on the list. Ed Edd & Eddy & Fairly Oddparents, two of the jazziest cartoon themes on the market, The B-52's doing Rocco's Modern Life from Season 2 on, Angry Beavers, Dexter's Lab, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, so many great themes. Would love to see a part 2 someday.
I think the original version of the Rocko's Modern Life is better than the B-52's version.
Tennessee Tuxedo and Underdog... both catchy tunes with great lyrics.
The Pink Panther theme by Henry Mancini is epic & was also played in The Price Is Right which I watched on sick days from school along with The Twilight Zone.
How do you leave out the coolest cat. A true gentleman , scholar and
acrobat.
That was the first one that came to my mind
@@forestfc Don't forget about The Inspector Theme too which was part of the Pink Panther Show.In fact the Intro , Outro , and said Inspector are a triple whammy of classic cartooon themes.
I can't believe you didn't include Spider-Man '67. An S-tier cartoon theme for sure.
Top Cat for me. It's my entrance song at my funeral.
Inspector Gadget theme is the GOAT - 100% synth pop banger.
I’m glad you guys hit on Gummi Bears, or I’d have to riot .. Duck Tales and Muppet Babies also rock!
One that I would’ve included from my childhood watching Nickelodeon was The Mysterious Cities of Gold .. Awesome theme song!!
@tomklenskjr.2491 I loved The Mysterious Cities of Gold!
You gave King of the Hill a freakin' C???? You boys ain't right.
Dammit, Joe and Jason. - Joe
Little after your time but I think Phineas and Ferb and Total Drama are the two theme songs that got stuck in my head the most
Best cartoon theme song is for "The Raccoons", total 80s Cyndi Lauper-style banger
New Adventures of Winnie The Pooh has another glorious 80s theme.
well, I grew up in the 70s loving HB cartoons!! Speed Buggy, Clue Club, Capt Caveman…we have our differences Joe!! lol
Holy crap. I’m going on and on about stuff and forgot the catchiest cartoon song ever. “Hey, it’s Franklin.” Around the turn of this century when my daughter was little. 🥲 Some of the commenters might even have been kids then. The Noggin Network had such sweet shows.
Magilla Gorilla theme song a favorite
I cannot believe what you missed.
- Astroboy, Instant S Tier cartoon theme song.
- Honorable A Tier to Josie and the Pussycats, The Smurfs, Road Runner, Battle of the Planets[Gatchaman] and Wacky Races.
Yes I am a Gen Xer. Not hard to guess.
Best cartoon theme top of S : Scooby Doo.
Worst of all time: Banana Man. I think that the whole cartoon was a joke and cartoon parody. If Eric had needed to eat a cantaloupe to become superhuman the show would have been so much better.
Good list. I would place He-Man and Denver higher though!
Duck Tales is the Stairway to Heaven of Kids Cartoon Themes!
Come along with me, and the butterflies and bees...
A bit before your time, but the theme from the GI Joe cartoon is awesome. Also, you can’t forget the theme song from the 1960’s Spider-man cartoon.
For those of us who were little kids in the 1960s, just because you didn’t like something didn’t mean you didn’t watch it, unfortunately. 😄 Couldn’t stand Flintstones, but of course I watched it since you only had a couple hours on Saturday morning when cartoons were on. (There were Sunday cartoons but they were different. Like Rocky and Bullwinkle and Fracture Fairytales.) Flintstones def an S-tier song. Jetsons was superior cartoon and another S-tier song. Very mid-century modern style because it was actually mid-century! Hanna-Barbera animation was terrible and cheaply done where they just scrolled the background, but dang, the songs were awesome! Also Looney Toons only an A tier? They actually played those cartoons in the theaters before the main feature when I was a kid. No advertisements, not even coming attractions. You never knew how many cartoons you were get, so if that song came on again, we would cheer. And as old as I am, that song is at least 20 years older. 😄 Def an S. Same with Scooby-Doo. I watched when I was 5 years old and then watched with my daughter when *she* was 5 years old nearly 40 years later! Anyway, really awesome idea for a list, even if it didn’t hit my sweet spots of mid-1960s and mid-2000s. Oh, and can’t share the love for The Chipmunks. I asked for a Beatles album when I was 4 or 5 and my mom got me “The Chipmunk Sing The Beatles’ Hits.” I was crushed. (But I still have it, lol.) Played it on slow rpm so it would approximate the Beatles.
Hmm I was a touch later in the 80s as a kid. Weird thing about living outside the US is you get the repeats of previous decades. I got a 70's and earlier cartoon life as a kid in the 80s: Josie and the Pussycats, Wacky Races, Road Runner and of course Flintstones.
I thoroughly enjoyed this gents! I’d also nominate the David the Gnome theme song…dramatic and sets up the adventures you would go on with Dave
And if you don't, he'll slap your s--t (Meme)
Great video! I enjoyed watching this!
This is by far your best tier list that I've seen. Would 'like it' twice if I could. At last, I agree with Joe on something - X-Men! This video could only be bettered by one where you rank all of Dylan's songs, including the Bootleg Series, lol. Btw, as a 45 year old, Thundercats, He-Man and Transformers are 'S' tier. Stuart
South Park - the theme tune is absolutely legendary!
The Nutty Squirrels was great AND hit the Billboard charts back in 1959 Twice even. . I loved it as a kid and loved to sing it. Cool and Jazzy but who knows it now? Its not helped by the fact that I think only one episode has survived to the present day..
For me, you missed Wait 'til Your Father Gets Home, George of the Jungle, Super Chicken and Tom Slick. But I'm old.
Do you remember Wacky Races? Dick Dastardly would go "Drat! Double Drat!"
You guys ever listen to the Moody Blues? Feels like it'd be right up your alley. Been going through their discography and was surprised you guys didn't already have a Listography for them.
Yeah they’re good. Definitely one of the listos we need to get tk
Oof, no love for Hanna Barbara, that's my childhood there. Josie and the Pussycats, Scooby-Doo, Jetsons, etc . (Not really a cartoon, but The Banana Splits is super catchy). From when my kid was little, Bob The Builder is still stuck in my head.
Great idea for a video lol.
I was born in April 2000, so it really shows the divide in generations between us!
I’m a big Pokémon person, watched Advanced & Diamond and Pearl growing up, so the theme songs from those definitely have nostalgia for me, I’d put it in A. Some of the other themes on here definitely range and span greatly from crap to great. Also, great call on Matthew Sweet, Jason! Cartoons and power pop really do go hand in hand, don’t they? 🤗
Ducktales, Chip N Dale, Gummi Bears, Pokemon and Alvin n the Chipmunks all S Tier for me. Would shove SpongeBob and Animaniacs right down to F Tier as well.
Ouch. I love the Flintstones. I guess that is because I grew up with them.
This was a lot of fun, being the same age as you guys I have a lot of nostalgia for a lot of these shows. Gummi Bears, Muppet Babies, Alvin & the Chipmunks, Care Bears and Jem are some of the first shows I remember watching. Definitely can't argue with the s-tier, those ones have to be there. I might put Captain Planet higher - pretty mid show but I love that theme song.
Some that were missed that might be more Canadian leaning - Raccoons (s-tier banger for sure) and Sharky and George have never left my head. I agree that more classic Nickelodeon should have been there.
Love this! Some of these themes I totally forgot, brings back childhood memories
No Space Ghost Coast To Coast?
Man I remember being like 4 in 1998 and thinking Pokemon was super edgy, when it was always really aimed at both boys and girls aged 4-10. No wonder my friends suddenly started hating it when Yu Gi Oh arrived. I mean, the games are great and there is some good stuff in the anime, but looking back I definitely outgrew the Pokemon anime younger than i thought and kept watching it because it was comforting.
"Pokeman" listed before "Pinky and the Brain"...the theme songy'all forgot was 🎼🎵ABCDE....I....O🎵 ha ha ha ha
Great idea, guys. A few cartoons that were huge in the 80's that I didn't see listed were The Smurfs, G.I. Joe and The Real Ghostbusters. Keep in mind, I'm referring to the Sunbow 80's G.I. Joe, not the crap 90's DIC version! Some more obscure favorites were Dungeons and Dragons, M.A.S.K., Silverhawks and COPS, but I realize these were a little before your time.
I always loved the jazzy Ed Edd n Eddy theme. It sounded nothing like any other kids cartoon at the time and the soundtrack to the show was really good too. It fit perfectly with the bizarre and surreal feel of the show.
Definitely need to add Ben-10 theme song, as well as the original teen titans. Both done by ex-jellyfish singer Andy Sturmer
Man what a great idea for a video.
should do regular tv show themes. airwolf, golden girls, cheers, knightrider, magnum pi, tons of legendary music out there
Yes! Yes! Yes! I offer an advance payment of 7.97 percent of my soul for this tier list to happen!
You are running out of ideas😂.
Wait! Where is Beavis and Butthead?😳
Greetings from Leipzig/ germany.
As a kid, the Teen Titans theme was definitely one of my favorites (the original one, not Teen Titans Go). Phineas and Ferb is another great one. And outside of the theme song, Phineas and Ferb had a bunch of really fun and catchy songs that played in the episodes too
I still sing "Gummy Bears theme song" randomly all these years later lol. Love your rankings!
You forgot the all time greatest cartoon theme song, the original theme to Jonny Quest!
It’s protege The Venture Bros, great theme song and excellent background score.
Being a bit younger, I'd have some later 90s ones like Arthur, Magic School Bus, and Hey Arnold in there. Of these, I'm quite partial to the Pokemon and Scooby Doo themes.
the Japanese language Pokemon themes are different and amazing. Im particularly fond of the Hoenn and Sinnoh era theme songs. Also, the Italian ones are cool.
Arthur and Hey Arnold are some great theme songs…great cartoons too!
Jonny Quest is S-Tier. Check it out.
No Dogtanian?
I'd put The Flintstones S, Kim Possible and Rugrats A, and King of the Hill and The Loud House at B and that's a perfect list. I'm pretty biased with The Flintstones because it came up during the 60s. I look up the theme song on RUclips and I get a bunch of joy whenever I listen to it. Kim Possibly is one of the best Disney shows ever made and it's just a catchy song it's impossible to not put it as high as A. King of the Hill has some what of a southern rock/country vibe for the theme song. It screams Texas. If screams southern. It's just that good. The Loud House has a Blink 182 vibe to the theme song, basically like when Phineas & Ferb has Bowling For Soup do their theme song.
Care Bears and My Little Pony were also on when He-Man was on
difficult, clearly recall shows not themes, but Simpson’s great intro music, “Family Guy” music like old school Broadway tune, hating on Scooby Doo? broke barriers Thelma, Shaggy😂
Are you guys going to review the new Kings of Leon album - Can We Please Have fun? It's good.
did the disney cartoons, but forgot the only one thats almost as good as ducktales: adventures of the gummi bears. my brother and i would sing that shit constantly.
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors is a great one too, that gets better as it goes
oh snap! you got the gummi bears in there. thought they were in alphabetical order. nice
That first season of Spongebob still feels like a 90s show, much like early Adventure Time has a lot of Spongebob writers and still had that Late 90s Early 2000s vibe.
Love Adventure Time! Should’ve been on the list :)
Rainbow Brite! 🌈🦄 👧
Man I really hated how much they reran the first Scooby Doo. I watched it on HD, and one hand its just so much nicer video quality, but you can also see how much they cut costs in places that were not apparent in old 15 inch tvs. Honestly the backgrounds and animations are so samey, and even the Scrappy era is a little better in that regard.
Do you know the cartoon series "Bee Maja" in the US ?
I do not. - Joe
Please tell me "The Hair Bear Bunch" is in here...Doesn't look like it. SMH.
Flintstones is S
Phineas & Ferb - best of all time
Fat Albert is S.
Now do videogame theme songs
Don’t tempt me. - Joe
I collect MLP i can't get into the orginal 80s cartoon. It doesn't hold up.
Don’t feel too bad. I’ve discovered there are scads of old men still playing with gi joes….
Pink Panther?
Joe, what cartoons do your kids watch?
Bluey, Big City Greens, whatever is on. It changes like weekly. - Joe
Did we ever hear what happened to Kram?
So many times….but he quit
@@TastesLikeMusic Thank you. Kind regards. Happiness and Peace.
@@TastesLikeMusic That is sad. But we wish him all the best.
Denver the Last Dinosaur had a great theme song, but was a very stupid show.
