It's a multiplier or setting that determines the exact tripping current based on the breaker’s trip curve. The trip setting (AS) could be adjustable to fine-tune the protection level according to the needs of the system. For example, if the AT is 400A, and the AS is set to 0.8, then the breaker would trip at 320A (0.8 * 400A).
