Gucci Guilty Absolute, No Limits and Terre D’Hermes are a few of my absolute favorites currently and it sounds like this fits right in the mix. I’m a big fan of what Alberto Morillas is doing lately
This is one of the best designer releases I've smelled in years. Daring and different, can't wait to get my hands on a bottle. I am very surprised that Bvlgari has the guts to release this when 90% of the brands came out with boring and generic scents like Dior Homme 2020, Burberry Hero or Prada Luna Rossa Ocean.
This one is fantastic! Unique, earthy, masculine, niche quality. I guarantee if you spray out a few sprays, then let the bottle sit in your closet to macerate for a month or so, it'll smell way better. I got a similar first impression, and after letting it macerate, it smelled fantastic!
About the atomizer: that's a thing with all bottles on the Man line, I've found. If you don't press firmly enough, it kinda squirts out instead of spraying
I know this is already an old video clip but just happened to watch it now (Nov.19, 2023) and I just bought this fragrance a couple of weeks ago. I found a great deal in a gift set came with a 100ml bottle with another 15ml travel spray bottle, a cute mini of exact the same look and the set was for CAD$80 at Winners. I was actually wanting this fragrance for a while, not for 2 years since the release but at least for several moths after I tried a few times on my skin at Nordstrom and I did really liked it a lot. Initially, I wasn't sure but never had an apparent negative reaction like you did but I was more leaning towards an intrigue. After a couple of more try, it grew more and more and I actually was quite impressed by the scent profile and the quality of it. Then I had forgotten about it for a while then when I found the gift set at Winners, I had to scoop it up the next day. I actually felt a bit nervous that someone else might have already scooped it up because they only had one set but I was so happy that it became mine. I checked the prices in different discounters and the price I paid for the set was extremely better than all the discounters so I was so happy about it. I had the opportunity to do my first full wear experience, sprayed as I normally do as I'm a heavy sprayer (20 to 30 sprays on all over my upper body and arms) So that would give me enough longevity and village for sure and it did. It stayed all day although I wanted to have the opening sensation half way through the day so I think I gave another 5 to 6 sprays of reapplication around my neck and my wrists. So the amazing scent was pumping up till I went to bed and I could actually smell off my skin the next morning as well!! So the scent itself, I don't find it's funky or weird but rather very soothing and uplifting with that bitter citrus notes throughout the scent life and with light woody notes enveloping the scent bubble. Although it says "terrae" or "earth", I don't find it earthy smell or smell of dirt at all. It smells more of some dry light wood and with the harmony of bitter citrus notes, it's very comforting and upscale and elegant but still masculine. I think in my opinion, Alberto Morello hit the nail on this one and quite honest with you, I like this one much better than the earlier collections of "Wood Essence" and "Wood Neroli". I liked them on the paper but neither of them worked on my skin. By the way you need to wait for the fragrance till the full development and you can't judge by the first impression so I think you should have given the full wear for a day then gave the viewers the final experience. It might have been the same for you and still didn't like it or maybe you might have given you an update and opportunity to actually different take from the first impression and maybe liked it. Who knows. Anyway, I'm so happy with this Terrae Essence adding to my collection and yes, it's not easy to find it but it's still available on the market and not as hard as Dior Homme Parfum and not as nearly expensive as that one so I think guys should still give it a try, be patient till it fully develops on your skin preferably do the full wear the whole day. Sorry for my long blabber here but I was in the mood to share my thoughts because I just got this one recently. Have a great scent day!!

If you watch more of my videos you will see that I’ve amended my thoughts on this fragrance, after all, first impressions aren’t 100% accurate in the long run, but I honestly think there was something wrong with the first 10 sprays of this bottle, because it smelt like burnt chemicals, after that cleared the tube however, I fell in love with this fragrance!
the question is not liking or not! His giving his opinion. The question is not recommending. That is the issue. For example, everyone talks about how good Eros from Versace is... i dont like it! Acqua di gio? i hate it! Bleu from channel? i dont care! But for people who like those type of scents, those are good! for me? no! so will never say "i dont recommend this or not"
Definitely not the first on my list to go buy as a new frag head but geez it is THE most intriguing and curious thing i have smelled on my quest to expand the collection. I dont know if i could wear it regularly, but at the very least im going to get a small bottle.
I have the Bvlgari Man Wood Essence and really enjoy it. Perfect for the Fall and Winter. I was curious about Terrae Essence but think I will pass. One thing that annoys me about Bvlgari is that they seem to advertise heavily but then it takes years to find it anywhere in the US. I remember waiting so long to find Glacial Essence that I eventually gave up on it. Their distribution needs improvement.
I tried this just once and while I didn't like it I DID find it interesting. I reckon it's one of those rare scents which I could (possibly) end up really liking eventually! The sprayer I tried in store was terrible too 😅
People either seem to think this is a masterpiece or they're indifferent about it. I bet if it were to be discontinued. It would be highly saw after. Any thoughts? I think I'm Gonna get it.
I like this fragrance very much. If you have Nasomatto Black Afgano try them side by side. You will see, that are similarities. Bvlgari is the lighter Version of Black Afgano.
I can't remember the last time you had a negative impression Tommy! It seemed like Morillas was proud of this creation on IG when it first came out. But then again, he was chuffed about Guilty Absolute and we all know how THAT turned out. 😄 I wonder if Bvlgari have another Aqva flanker coming. Things just seemed to fizzle after Atlantiqve.

I love it, little bit the same like terra d hermes.. diverent is sometimes a good thing. Just like hermes h24 everyone was telling oehhh it like a hot iron...now lots of people love it and its even hyped at this moment...i would say use your nose and choose what will fitt on you.
I had the same first impression as you. But... Now the temp has dropped to 48.c and below with grey skies/rain its really coming into its own. (I find same with kenzo pour homme) Yes it's original Yes silage and projection are great No its not like T.D.H No I won't be keeping it
@Studio Scents have you done a video on the best in the Bvlgari Man Line? The bottles do look cool I've owned several of the acqva line but none of this one.
I appreciate your coverage of this uncommon fragrance, but saying that Morillas is the Steven King of perfumers is akin to saying that Morillas is just another hack of perfumery, however successful.
It Smells like freshly opened motor oil to me. I don't care for it either. But if you want to smell like a mechanic who has been working all day, it just might be for you.🙂
Hi Tommy. Thsnks for your honest first impressions. I bought myself a full 100 ml. Bottle for my birthday after a few tries in the store. You are correct it is unique. And I wear it when I'm a bit tired of smelling like a typical fragrance. To take a vacation from frags if you will. It is very earthy and resinous. Not citrusy at all. It is subtle but lasts 8 plus hours on my skin since it's an edp. l will be taking it on vacation to Italy next week since I want to relax. It's almost the anti perfume to me since it binds with my skin and makes me feel more human if that makes sense. It's not a people pleaser but I love it . So different. It is very niche I agree. But you need to have it on your skin for a few days yo understand it since I don't believe it's goal is to accomplish what other frags do. Not a blind buy, but definitely 👌 my thing.
By the way I see this working I'm many seasonal situations. I've worn it sitting in the hammock on warm Indian Summer day. But it's a great transitional frag as well. And i plan to experiment with it all winter long.
i think is fab , i have it , i love it ... super manly , manly man :)) . i wish it would be more concentrated and have a little bit better performance but it's ok. i'll get the 100ml bottle next time ;).
I have smelled this from a store, dry down slightly reminds me of Terre de Hermes, as if it was a kind of a not-so-great clone of it. Could be regarded as inspired by TdH, but imho clearly not as good

100% true! Damn things are squirters if not pressed fully. I got man in black, wood essence, wood neroli and glacial essence. they all squirt. lol.
