The person who joined drew in his tour here in Cebu is our chef Instructor Chef Richard C. Hao in the University of San Jose Recoletos. He is a renowned chef and an advocate in farm to table movement, he is also an expert in his field specializing both international and local gastronomy. A slow food movement advocate It was a good choice to pick him as one of the tour guide.
Adelante!!!!😊
That’s why he looks so familiar diay!

Why Cebu has delicious food? Cebu has the freshest ingredients.
For vegetables, we have Dalaguete.
For seafood, we have Pasil.
And our Lechon is freshly-killed pork.
Not in pasil.. nearby the city is at Opon wet market, Danao also has a lot of fresh seafood which can be ordered if you have a friend. Early morning like 4am to 5am, Mandaue market also has a lot. But surely in Lapulapu city if you live nearby the sea side, it has no ice yet. Kung baga, buhi pa and you can just get it really cheap before it reaches the wet market
Kain pa more ng pang pa heart attack!
i honestly disagree with the pasil one HAHAHA

Naaala ko yung kuyang driver sa 13:37 yung first episode niyo sa Cebu way back 2013. It was only a glimpse. Glad he actually shine more in this ep. hehehe
I'm a Manileño through and trough. I have been to many countries. But guys CEBU is my favorite CITY in the whole world.
i was there in cebu last feb 15 to 18, 2019,,, im from davao and im having a 3 day vacation in cebu... sa kasamaang palad i just only brought P4,000.00.. pero i visited 9 tourist spots there.. SIMALA SHRINE, MAGELLANS CROSS, BASILICA DEL STO.NINO, TEMPLE OF LEAH, TAOIST TEMPLE, 10,000ROSES, OSLOB BEACH, AGUINID FALLS, KAWASAN FALLS... sulit na sulit... roundtrip yung plane ticket ko worth 1,799
@Break Hour Rider grabeha sa 4k. Murag lisoda
Yung pag luluto po sa puso' pag BUMUBUKAL napo e malapit na yang maluto.. 😂😂😂
Ginoo ko... malilisod kos tagalog man eyyy..
Hahahaha paita nahirapan sa kalisod magtagalog
Lisod kaayu mag tagalog pero pa englisa hahahaha
Haha take your chances kasi. Pwedeng mag english. Madami na din nakakaintindi ng Bisaya dito sa manila.
By the way, bumubukal sa bisaya means boiling. Bumubukal sa tagalog refers to the flowing of water from a hole in the ground i.e. a spring or natural fountain.
You can use english po, okay lang po kahit english. There's a lot of bisaya speakers here too in Metro manila but a lot of them is old people, new gen or millennial is pure tagalog/taglish na

Kalamiiiii sobra...I lived in Cebu city for 2 years in the 90's...planning to go back when time permits....from Montreal ,Quebec...
Oh my gosh, I find this episode hilarious. I'm a Cebuano and I moved to Manila last year. So I'm staying here in Manila for almost a year now and I still find it hard to communicate in straight Tagalog. Often times I embarrass myself for uttering words in Bisaya which I thought were Tagalog words. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL, my friend! MAHIHIRAPAN KA TALAGA SA KALISOD!
Haha I was born and raised in manila but my parents were from Cebu and Bohol. And no, you don't embarrass yourself when you slip into your mother tongue. Manila is home to people from all over the country and manilenyos - at least the old breed - are an accepting lot as long as you're not a liability to the community (because if you are, we tend throw everything back at you including stuff we normally embrace: gender, accent, provincial roots, etc). Speak eloquently. If you slip and your friends correct you, then charge it to experience - no harm done. If they make fun of you, take offense but politely explain. If they really are your friends then they'll understand. Good luck with the struggle!
@@darthbiker2311 Hey there! :) Thanks for sharing this helpful information. I just feel embarrass but not in the way that I punish myself for it. So far, when I slip to my mother tongue, people here just understands what I mean by it. I don't have any friends here in Manila but I've had a share of good laughs with my family members.
Yeh, you should feel deeply ashamed of yourself for trying-hard Tagalog and humiliate your precious Cebuano identity.

Not a fan of Zubuchon. I think there are far better lechon places in Cebu. IMO. Sorry. I like House of Lechon, Rico's and Ayer's. I'm sure there are other underrated ones around. (The lechon in Talisay City is also really good!)
Karen Koren bitaw mam,, parat kaau mga templa sa zubuchon,,,. Way lami

Lechon is the popular food in Cebu. Thank you for featuring Cebu Lechon.
But not the staple food everyone eats. The common food is Monggo, bam i, and dried fish. Now the popular ones. Humba, kinilaw, fish soup, utan bisaya, etc sugba, and balbacua with mais 😋
Tourists from Manila no longer needs to take back home Cebu lechon because both Zubuchon and Rico's Lechon are now putting up branches in Manila. Even the famous Cebu lechon belly and Balamban liempo are now all over Manila.
lionhearted1969 pero mas may masarap pa na lechon in Cebu di pa lang nadidiscover :) CNT, Ayers, Alejos and Talisay lechon :)
@@mariesarcol5755 Yes I tried Talisay lechon too. For me, Carcar lechon is top of my list. Rico's would he 2nd and Talisay lechon 3rd.
When I was young we always passed by Cebu, then last june 2019 I went there andI like the place, now I am coming back again this Dec
Cebu is one of the most beautiful island in the Philippines! We will be there again this November and I am very much excited. Thanks for this and this is a great video! Keep it up 😊
Yes, Cebu is one of the most beautiful ISLANDS in the Philippines. The noun must always have an S every time you use the phrase: "ONE OF THE. . . " FY.I. Pag itatagalog, the correct grammar is ISA SA MGA ISLA (meaning isa lamang sa maraming isla ang ibig sabihin ng correct grammar na: "ONE OF THE ISLANDS." Hindi po ISA SA ISLA.
Maayong Buntag Cebu! I ♥️ cebu! It's my second home aside from my home town Butuan.....

Ian Crow Madami talagang mga korean dyan. hahahaha. 😂
@Jabami Even in manila, grabe din ung traffic.
@Jabami Manila is much worst. :( I never gone to Cebu but i think Cebu is better
Swear Drew's voice is something that I wanna hear when it come to narrating videos like this.
Epic and ironic shot when Drew said, mahahawakan ang kasaysayan but then the video shows “Please Do Not Touch” simultaneously. It’s good.
See you soon Ginabot ug lechon :D

Question: Why are Cebuanos more comfortable in speaking English than Tagalog ?
Para conyo ☺️😆
Sevierino Villanueva tounge
Matigas kc dila nahihirapan mas madali tlga smin ang mag English nlng
It is because English is like our second language next to Bisaya. And Cebuanos doesn’t really speak tagalog but we know how to speak tagalog. We just dont use it here in Cebu.
+Sevierino Villanueva Due to different orientations or ideologies in relation to languages used by
Cebuano-Bisayan speakers. Cebuanos select a language in relation to social linguistic norms and language ideologies which the use of a language implies. English is more exposed to them, ergo they're more confident to express or even code-switch the language in the middle of a conversation without labeling them as conyo. Cebuanos are also regionalists, consciously and unconsciously. Majority of them take pride in their ethnicity. When uneasiness happens (e.g. trying to converse w/ the Tagalogs), they usually change their positions closer to the center of a preferred ideology and voluntarily select a linguistic marker (i.e. to speak English). Besides, there are ethnic tensions among the non-Tagalog communities behind their reaction to the issues of a national language. The “Cebuano revolt” to the Filipino language, especially to the Constitutional declaration of Filipino as the national language and the 1987 Bilingual Education Policy, is the most obvious case in point.
Kulang pa ang mga pagkain na na feature ni drew, meron pa mga masarap diyan. Yong ngohiong, tsaka balitok

My fave otap. Shamrock.
Isa lang talaga ang masasabi kong constructive criticism ko sa host. Sana e improve niya yung pagsasalita niya dahil marami siyang pauses, yung mahahalata mong palagi siyang nag-iisip pa ng next na sasabihin.
Chef Richard Hao...👏👏👏
