I've been there before mag start ang Pandemic. Sobrang na-amazed ako sa ganda at lalo na sa history ng Culion, naiyak ako nung na-witnessed ko mismo na may mga students from Batangas State University na nag interview sa Leprosy survivor. I will definitely go back sa Culion after this pandemic.

I could remember living in Culion for a couple of years (1953-1955) along with our parents and 2 other siblings. I was about 5 yrs old. Our Dad worked for the Bureau of Health at the time caring for the folks with leprosy. The island was divided into 2 areas, one area was restricted to the leprosy patients, and the other half was for the non-leper residents. Children from the other side were not allowed to enter the "leper colony." I remember seeing a few American servicemen being present on the island. There was a pier where merchants and fishermen sold their goods and catch. There were plenty of Kasoy fruit trees that I used to climb to pick the ripe fruits. I recall casting my fish line by the seaside hoping to be able to make a catch. I have pleasant memories living on the island. I wish I could visit the island of Culion this time around.

Drew, I enjoy watching your videos while exploring the hidden beauties of Palawan like Culion island. My wife and I have our own 10 hectare undeveloped beach in that island fronting the South China sea where the sun romances the waters of the ocean at the western horizon everyday as it bids goodnight to the locals, visitors and tourists.
