the size of the beast can be measured using the size of helpers, which i call those little robots that turn on leds. using the real size of an led, we can measure a helper (1 H) to about 1.25 cm tall. the robot at the beginning that goes on a cannabilistic rampage is about 5.5 H in size. the robot that produces helpers (which i will call birthing machines) is about 2.75 H. an led tree (which are those technological trees with leds as leafs) is 5.75 H. saw bots (which are those robots that cut branches off led trees) is also 5.75 H. houses (which are those connected houses ) are 8.5 H in size. the beast (when he starts eating houses) is 12.25 H in size. i have 0 ways of measuring past this point bc it zooms in so thats it for now.
When the full beast is walking, we can see it at its full height. If you take the front of the beast and move it to fit the cocooned version, we can see what it’s like. Since there is also an LED and a helper, we can find the true height.
Even when making something so different in style from his usual works Cyriak somehow still manages to retain his characteristic formal narrative... the consistency here is truly amazing
What I mean: see this saw bot at 0:55? When the monster comes, the saw bot tries to defend the smaller bots but gets absorbed anyway. But at 1:15 if you look closely enough. One of the parts that used to be the saw bot seems to be still conciouse. If you look closely. You can see one of the saw parts seemingly trying to cut away the other parts of the monster. Proving this, and you can even see one of the mouth saws trying to cut away the tentecals. Even at 1:34 the saw eye is still frantically looking around trying to find a way to be freed. 2:26 it’s even possible that the butter-bot might even be the saw bot.

Oh dude, you know what this instantly reminded me of? So there’s this short film called “Desire.” It’s basically about this little robot that has one job, but quickly gets jealous of everyone else, so he tries to modify himself over and over again, until… Well, you’ll just have to find out!
This was my first experience with it and I never saw it again. For the past 2 years I’ve been on a mission to find this video and I’m happy to say the search has ended
The creativity on the machines and the texture and all the looks are perfect. I can't imagine How Cyriak thought this out. I like drawing (not a proffesional, so don't talk about that) but I love robots in general so this video is just utterly so amazing that I could never even imagine the creativity needed
Interestingly...watch the eye that heroic robot had in later parts of the video. The eye will look around independently from the original eye; even looking at the viewer at one point. Showing that its still fully control of its own parts and mind. This is quite...intresting. maybe the part where little spider dornes come out to wrap the gaint down is created by our saw wielding hero to stop the robotic monster.

This concept always freaked me out, like the whole mindless amalgam thing. I remember seeing one version of Mechagodzilla that did this and it was one of the more grotesque versions I've seen of him
to me it looks more like he's just in a sort of stunned curiosity with his little jump being shock (but if it makes you feel any better there are some theories in the comments that the butterfly bot is actually the saw bot based on the color of the eye)
If u look at the part when the robots eats the houses (not the sky scrapers) the daw robots eye is like looking is surprise and it looks like he is trying to refuse to eat the other robots.

I think the butterfly at the end wasn't the robot. It looks like the system expected something like this and use the giant caterpillar cancer to create a new seed for a society

the eyes of the butterfly are different than the eye of the saw bot. also, if it *was* the saw-bot, then at 1:33, why does the eye of the eater-bot get the hexagon plates but not the saw-bot? shouldn't the saw-bot eye get the upgrade, or both eyes get it for your theory to make sense?

Actually,if you look at one of the saws at 1:17 it's actually attacking the eater-bot and the butterfly at the end must be the saw-bot killing the eater-bot from the inside out,allowing it to take control and put an end to this madness 😳
alright, story time: some little robots activate flower thingys. and some collectors *collect them* . one collector swallows a robot trying to figure out why the flower wont turn on. after discovering the great power by eating other robots, the collector goes haywire. a small robot producer gets eaten by the very same collector, now having eaten a lot more small robots. cut (or slide) to the robot woods, where a lumberjack robot saws branches off of a tree for the small robots to carry. Collector crashes in, and begins eating a tree, scaring the small robots. the lumberjack tries their best to defend himself, but its too late. another slide leads us to a "neighborhood", where the houses are dancing. the power line connecting the houses gets more and more tugged on, making the inhabitants curious. they discover the collector eating the power line, but sadly they were already done for. now a zoom to the big city, where it seems the community is living a well organized life, and keeping stuff in control. now the collector, having presumably eaten all the houses, starts wreaking havoc. the collector (if it even still counts as one) eats almost everything. every building, every robot, and every bit of metal. it spreads out all over the city, becoming bigger and bigger, until it resembles a larva. hundreds of thousands of small robots, who seem to have been somewhat *created* by the huge larva, begins to drag and cover it in layers of yellow "rope" then a cut to a small robot activating a flower on some rubbish then a zoom to the robot on the pulsating cocoon, activating the flower. the cocoon opens, and a sort of "mecha butterfly" emerges from it, then flies away.
At 1:16 you can see how the Lumberjack is now part of the Collector, but he is aware and not just part of him totally, you can see how he is in a lot of confussion during the scene where you can see him, his eye is only pure White, the Collector Eye has a white circle and a black dot, so you can difference both eyes (You can still see him in the next scenes, looking to the Collector and his surroudings, also sorry if my english is bad, it's not my main language)
... you know I find it scary that the world here went from perfectly stable to apocalypse so quickly ... you never know what small mistake could set off global destruction ... world wide chaos ... but on a lighter note I find the music delightfully catchy :3
i think the actual reason all this happened was because the small robot wasn't eaten on purpose, and when he was eaten it made the larger robot pop out of the power system and it made him self aware, realizing the arm it gave him was pretty cool and he wanted more parts like a greedy bastard

i love how this entire video is one big accident. if you look at 0:20 carefully you can see that the big robot is looking away when it eats the small one. this leads to the robot attempting to destroy a city, kind of like the butterfly effect. which makes sense because of the little nod to the butterfly effect at the end, when the monster-robot turns into a butterfly :)
More so: There was a complimentary accident with small robot who got eaten being in his place for too long due to LED not lighting up on the techno-plant.
0:54 that tree cutter joins the monster side, if you look at the monsters eye once he eats him he now has two eyes,and on of those eyes are the exact same as the tree cutter, also you can notice it's not looking the same direction at the original monsters eye,that's since the tree cutter is still controlling the eye,and why it's not looking at all the destruction that's going on.
that's because whatever he eats becomes apart of him. Like how he ate the wiggling thing and it became it's tounge, how it's tube became a claw thing from eating the small robot, etc.
watching this a few times, I realized that the reason this all happened was not because of the robot which ate the small robot, but because the robot which was eaten was defective, it could of accidentally eaten any other robots at any point in time, and likely similar has happened in the past, but the small robot that was eaten first seemed to have trouble figuring things out about it's own primary function, and once the robot ate the smaller one, said defect went onto him, and educed this "cannibalism"
You should realize the end of that part. This animation is actually more based on how conflict and evolution works. Could be that those robot represent the small creature the old kind of city that was made my something that human eye can’t see. Since it’s evolving, in order to complete its form it has to eat more.
@@marctypical4569 I meant this comment in a more realistic light, rather than any symbolism. I highly doubt a robot programmed only to fulfill a status quo would just suddenly lose all it's programing by just accidentally eating a smaller robot and get it replaced for a lust for a new way of life and government or such. At most, I could imagine the symbolism representing newer, stronger nations coming from old and/or corrupt nations and governments, similar to what happened with Americans and British.
I hear some in the comments dismiss the animation as just weird to be weird, but I think there might be some genuine meaning to the animation, not just an interesting concept. The song is called "Putty Boy Strut", Putty perhaps implying that it's about a youth being "molded" by an apparent mistake. Notice how the robot isn't looking forward when he snatches up the smaller one? And how it spirals completely out of control from there? We also have the "Transformation" into something beautiful bit at the very end, and the robot presumably is better off from this. Now there is also the important idea that everything is symbolic. What all these things symbolize is very hard to pinpoint, but I feel like there might be some correlation between the robot's first job of picking up lights and the 2 red lights above its final form's eyes. Perhaps it symbolizes a form of guidance or structure. Maybe it means nothing at all. In any case, this was a very imaginative and thought-provoking experience.
I see it as metaphor of cancer - one cell goes crazy, "eating" and corrupting other cells one by one, makes it trough all organism, and in the end your spirit flies out of your body (You are dead).
Kickiusz Rather dark. I think the most accurate interpretation is law vs chaos: the rouge robot is the only one not moving to the beat. Eternally at war, but if they work together, great things can happen.

The sawmill bot a hero we didn't notice. He didn't run but he holds his ground and makes sure his friends escape alive. A peaceful life cutting trees, making new friends, and living a happy life. Until the beast comes. I wish he made an alternate ending where the sawmill bot wins the fight and becomes a hero in all of bot kind (that's not going to happen because this video is 8 years old) but props to the sawmill bot. While his friends are running he's holding his ground while his colleges run for safety. A true hero I can imagine how scary that would be. Imagine the bots memory storage just slashing away at the horrifying beast cutting and sashing making sure his friends escape. But at 1:15 and 1:34 one of the eyes of the beast doesn't look like the other.... Can you guess who it is? It's the sawmill bot! It seems the robot still has sentence and is repelling against the control of it. And if you look in the back of the beast you can see a saw trying to destroy itself to save others. Props to the sawmill bot he still has sentence from the beast but he can't do anything about it. Seeing everything get destroyed, smashed, consumed, and used against there will Funny edit: sawmill bot just looks at the camera saying "help" Another edit: how has this got one comment? 🤔🤔 I'm confused 🤔🤔 Edit theory: who are the red or brown spiders at 2:08? Was it the military? It's special forces? A top secret plan? Who are they? If you have any ideas let me know After the beast was free. Story edit: after the attack of the terrifying beast the sawmill bot lives a happy life with his friends and family. But he still remembers what happened, all of the other bots got there memory chips wiped but the sawmill bot refused to have his memory wiped. He still has nightmares about the incident but he doesn't bring it up. One night however would change his life forever he saw a symbol floating on his wall saying "♾️♾️♾️" he decoded it and found out it said "infinity" the sawmill bot tryed to figure it out but has no luck. He told one of his friends about the incident and he burst into fear he said that he saw the same symbol floating on his wall. Little do they know there about to face one of the most powerful being in the universe...

Something about the Saw-Bot at 1:00 protecting the tiny bots is incredibly endearing to me.
I'd say he's more like hesitating on whether he should attack and he never quite brings himself to do that.
It didn't tried to protect the tiny boys, it was stunned as the 'thing' was new, and didn't knew what to do until it was too late.

to me it looks more like he's just in a sort of stunned curiosity with his little jump being shock (but if it makes you feel any better there are some theories in the comments that the butterfly bot is actually the saw bot based on the color of the eye)

I just realized, the eyes of the butterfly thing at the end has full white eyes, not a white eye with a dot in the middle, the one with the dot is the one that ate everything, the saw robot is the one that had the full white eye. *The saw robot is the one that became the butterfly at the end*
the eyes of the butterfly are different than the eye of the saw bot. also, if it *was* the saw-bot, then at 1:33, why does the eye of the eater-bot get the hexagon plates but not the saw-bot? shouldn't the saw-bot eye get the upgrade, or both eyes get it for your theory to make sense?

Actually,if you look at one of the saws at 1:17 it's actually attacking the eater-bot and the butterfly at the end must be the saw-bot killing the eater-bot from the inside out,allowing it to take control and put an end to this madness 😳

alright, story time:
some little robots activate flower thingys.
and some collectors *collect them* .
one collector swallows a robot trying to figure out why the flower wont turn on.
after discovering the great power by eating other robots, the collector goes haywire.
a small robot producer gets eaten by the very same collector, now having eaten a lot more small robots.
cut (or slide) to the robot woods, where a lumberjack robot saws branches off of a tree for the small robots to carry.
Collector crashes in, and begins eating a tree, scaring the small robots.
the lumberjack tries their best to defend himself, but its too late.
another slide leads us to a "neighborhood", where the houses are dancing.
the power line connecting the houses gets more and more tugged on, making the inhabitants curious.
they discover the collector eating the power line, but sadly they were already done for.
now a zoom to the big city, where it seems the community is living a well organized life, and keeping stuff in control.
now the collector, having presumably eaten all the houses, starts wreaking havoc.
the collector (if it even still counts as one) eats almost everything. every building, every robot, and every bit of metal.
it spreads out all over the city, becoming bigger and bigger, until it resembles a larva.
hundreds of thousands of small robots, who seem to have been somewhat *created* by the huge larva, begins to drag and cover it in layers of yellow "rope"
then a cut to a small robot activating a flower on some rubbish
then a zoom to the robot on the pulsating cocoon, activating the flower.
the cocoon opens, and a sort of "mecha butterfly" emerges from it, then flies away.
At 1:16 you can see how the Lumberjack is now part of the Collector, but he is aware and not just part of him totally, you can see how he is in a lot of confussion during the scene where you can see him, his eye is only pure White, the Collector Eye has a white circle and a black dot, so you can difference both eyes
(You can still see him in the next scenes, looking to the Collector and his surroudings, also sorry if my english is bad, it's not my main language)

i think the actual reason all this happened was because the small robot wasn't eaten on purpose, and when he was eaten it made the larger robot pop out of the power system and it made him self aware, realizing the arm it gave him was pretty cool and he wanted more parts like a greedy bastard

i love how this entire video is one big accident. if you look at 0:20 carefully you can see that the big robot is looking away when it eats the small one. this leads to the robot attempting to destroy a city, kind of like the butterfly effect. which makes sense because of the little nod to the butterfly effect at the end, when the monster-robot turns into a butterfly :)

0:54 that tree cutter joins the monster side, if you look at the monsters eye once he eats him he now has two eyes,and on of those eyes are the exact same as the tree cutter, also you can notice it's not looking the same direction at the original monsters eye,that's since the tree cutter is still controlling the eye,and why it's not looking at all the destruction that's going on.
that's because whatever he eats becomes apart of him. Like how he ate the wiggling thing and it became it's tounge, how it's tube became a claw thing from eating the small robot, etc.

watching this a few times, I realized that the reason this all happened was not because of the robot which ate the small robot, but because the robot which was eaten was defective, it could of accidentally eaten any other robots at any point in time, and likely similar has happened in the past, but the small robot that was eaten first seemed to have trouble figuring things out about it's own primary function, and once the robot ate the smaller one, said defect went onto him, and educed this "cannibalism"
I think what happened was the LED plant switch broke and the lil robot tried to fix it but got eaten accidentally.

You should realize the end of that part. This animation is actually more based on how conflict and evolution works. Could be that those robot represent the small creature the old kind of city that was made my something that human eye can’t see. Since it’s evolving, in order to complete its form it has to eat more.
@@marctypical4569 I meant this comment in a more realistic light, rather than any symbolism. I highly doubt a robot programmed only to fulfill a status quo would just suddenly lose all it's programing by just accidentally eating a smaller robot and get it replaced for a lust for a new way of life and government or such.
At most, I could imagine the symbolism representing newer, stronger nations coming from old and/or corrupt nations and governments, similar to what happened with Americans and British.

I hear some in the comments dismiss the animation as just weird to be weird, but I think there might be some genuine meaning to the animation, not just an interesting concept. The song is called "Putty Boy Strut", Putty perhaps implying that it's about a youth being "molded" by an apparent mistake. Notice how the robot isn't looking forward when he snatches up the smaller one? And how it spirals completely out of control from there? We also have the "Transformation" into something beautiful bit at the very end, and the robot presumably is better off from this. Now there is also the important idea that everything is symbolic. What all these things symbolize is very hard to pinpoint, but I feel like there might be some correlation between the robot's first job of picking up lights and the 2 red lights above its final form's eyes. Perhaps it symbolizes a form of guidance or structure. Maybe it means nothing at all.
In any case, this was a very imaginative and thought-provoking experience.
This symbolise progress thru death, and rebirth.
I see it as metaphor of cancer - one cell goes crazy, "eating" and corrupting other cells one by one, makes it trough all organism, and in the end your spirit flies out of your body (You are dead).

The sawmill bot a hero we didn't notice. He didn't run but he holds his ground and makes sure his friends escape alive. A peaceful life cutting trees, making new friends, and living a happy life. Until the beast comes. I wish he made an alternate ending where the sawmill bot wins the fight and becomes a hero in all of bot kind (that's not going to happen because this video is 8 years old) but props to the sawmill bot. While his friends are running he's holding his ground while his colleges run for safety. A true hero I can imagine how scary that would be. Imagine the bots memory storage just slashing away at the horrifying beast cutting and sashing making sure his friends escape. But at 1:15 and 1:34 one of the eyes of the beast doesn't look like the other.... Can you guess who it is? It's the sawmill bot! It seems the robot still has sentence and is repelling against the control of it. And if you look in the back of the beast you can see a saw trying to destroy itself to save others. Props to the sawmill bot he still has sentence from the beast but he can't do anything about it. Seeing everything get destroyed, smashed, consumed, and used against there will

After the beast was free. Story edit: after the attack of the terrifying beast the sawmill bot lives a happy life with his friends and family. But he still remembers what happened, all of the other bots got there memory chips wiped but the sawmill bot refused to have his memory wiped. He still has nightmares about the incident but he doesn't bring it up. One night however would change his life forever he saw a symbol floating on his wall saying "♾️♾️♾️" he decoded it and found out it said "infinity" the sawmill bot tryed to figure it out but has no luck. He told one of his friends about the incident and he burst into fear he said that he saw the same symbol floating on his wall. Little do they know there about to face one of the most powerful being in the universe...
I think those spiders at 2:08 were created by the big worm itself to transform it into a butterfly.
