How on earth did you remove the lock body with the steering lock bolt still out? I need to do this to my CBR650F, but the steering lock keeps the ignition from being removed. The steering bolt goes into a cylinder housing on the steering column, which stops the ignition from moving side to side (obviously) but also up and down. The only way to remove it without breaking it is to lift it away from the steering column (towards the front of the bike), but the top of the lock body is attached to (or rather imprisoned by) the top yoke plate. How on earth did you remove the ignition with the steering lock bolt still out?

I'm in the same boat; at @2:07 in the video there are 3 scuff marks that are silver--I assume this is from leveraging the locking pin gently out of the frame. This is what I have been trying to do. Some acoustic dingle berry 'attempted' to steal my motorcycle using another Honda key and kindly shattered the key in my ignition. Lock smith told me to piss off lol they wouldn't touch it. I ended up purchasing a Cobalt alloy bit and drilling out the entire ignition core (I can do this because I bought a whole new OEM lockset). I've been drilling for 4 hours and I'm finally almost to the part @4:13 in the video where his thumb is so that I can actually turn the mechanism with a screwdriver, rather than leveraging it out of the frame. I personally don't want to risk damaging the pin housing on the frame, nor do I want to bend the anti-theft bolts in their sockets and have to get them machined out. I wish they would have just stolen the phucking bike so I could have just gotten a new one and saved myself the $350 in parts and tools to fix it since motorcycle insurance has a 16 million dollar deductible.

@@wizardoflizards965 That sucks.. Glad you're getting somewhere with it tho. I was close to going down that route as well, trashing and replacing the lockset, but I managed to get the locking assembly out without causing too much damage. Initially tried scarring the headless bolts with a dremmel so I could tap them loose, but they just weren't turning and I made a right mess of one side so didn't even attempt the other. I ended up sawing through the section of the top plate that covers those bolts instead. Just used a hack saw blade, it took a while but worked surprisingly well. Disassembling the lock body to get at the lock core wasn't too difficult either, I did have to fully pick it to actually extract the core from the body but that's a lot easier when you can see down the top of the core outer section, actually I had to stick the lock picks down those outer quadrants to get some of the wafers to shift so it was never going to get picked still attached to the bike like I originally tried :(. With the key in, 6 of the wafers were still sticking out a bit, so crappy how much a bit of grit can do.. I've dumped all the wafers now and put things back together. Anything can turn the ignition lol but least it has an imobalizer. The hack saw cuts I made meant with everything tightened, the lock sits a couple mm higher, so steering lock doesn't work atm, but all can be sorted with a spacer. Might file down the wafers and put them back in too. I'm just glad my bikes rideable again.

Someone broke off a house key (I believe) and I don't want to cut my fork lock and out in a new ignition (that I already have).
I really don't know if it's possible to hmget the key out, my friend that was "helping" pushed it all the way in!
Screwed as far as I know, don't want a new lock or to not have the lock, otherwise you can simply walk off with it!
If the were smart they still could have, it weights 420lbs...
