I installed a Hotbodies Fender Eliminator on the wife's '12 CBR250R. I'm very mechanically inclined but this install still presents it's own challenges. I did the same mod as you (exact same style mini turn signals) except instead of LED I got ones with traditional style bulbs (on Amazon for $12). This prevented the hyper-flashing problem people get with LEDs and eliminated any need for Resistors. Thanks for the video/tutorial as it was very helpful and insightful in the installation process! Bike looks better than ever and now we just need some nice weather to get out and tear up some pavement!!!
Hey, if you get the time, could you link all the parts you bought including the lights, fender elimination and everything needed to make this mod perfect? Thanks :)
Awesome, I wanted to see this video because I'm repairing mine from a crash and needed to see how to reassemble the tail light section, but now I think I can save myself a headache by just putting a fender eliminator and forget about half the part I originally needed to reattach
Great video! I have the same bike and I did the same mod. It took me two days to complete it...so one afternoon is pretty darn quick! I opted for the integrated sequential LED tail lights from motodynamics cuz I read about the cracking issue with having the OEM blinkers installed on the hotbodies kit and I ddn't want the mini blinkers. It turned out great and still looking good after 2 years.
I wonder if that bracket that snaps easily is replaceable. Mine just broke and bought the whole assembly again, and hope I can just install the new bracket.
I'm trying to put my rear end back on. There is 2 pairs of yellow and black wires for each rear turn signal and a purple and black wire on the rear end assembly. I can't figure out which wires coming from the bike are for the blinkers and where the purple and black wires go...any help guys? I think the blinkers connect to red black, red black but not too sure about the purple and black.
I think a small cb mounting bracket could replace the turn signal mount that comes with the kit. Or I could make a metal bracket as well. If nothing else, to go inside the plastic one to reinforce it.
you actually push the center of the pop rivets in to take them out. its easier and less chance to damage them...before you put it back together you push the center pin out. then push it flush when its installed to lock it in...
How well has it held up? I'm thinking about getting this for my 2015 CBR300R cause the stock fender is god awful and ugly as sin. And you had to drill holes for the license plate right? Cause I think they were designed for american plates which are like an inch smaller than ours in ontario.
Wait a second at the end you mention you do not want to change your license plate because you have to take apart the fender? I just bought a cbr with the same modification. I was wondering how you hold the plate on! So it is with a nut and a bolt? I screwed two 2 1/4 screws in and they went up on a curve and held but I figured it was wrong... How long are the screws holding the plate on? and they you have a nut inside the plastic holding the plate on? I was going to try to zip tie but noting hole wise to zip tie to... How long to take apart if this is the case?
+G Picks I used a nut and bolt that came with the kit. Otherwise, you should be able to find stainless steel ones at the hardware store. A screw will not hold it securely as the plastic is not thick enough for the threads to grab on to. But to take it apart should only take 5 minutes or less.
+BrownBrady Ok thanks so I need to open the plastic up and add the bolt from the outside and the nut on the inside correct.. My guess the bolt will not need to be too long.
+G Picks Yes that is what I did. Technically, it doesn't matter which side the bolt head needs to be, but it looks better on the outside. But if the bolt is too long, the bolt head may need to be inside.
+BrownBrady Got it thanks it worked... I went to a local Ace hardware store and bought some 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch length carriage type bolts that you could not unscrew just to be safe with some of those nylon self locking nutss and it worked perfect. Cost $1...thanks again.
Thanks for the great video it helped a lot with my installation the other night! I don't known if you can answer this but the problem I have run into is the electrical. For the life of me I can't figure out what wires connect to what. Nothing is really color coded and they aren't marked either. So do you know the proper wiring combination for the brake light, turn signals, etc? Thanks!
Hey Michael, it's been almost 1.5 yrs since you installed this fender eliminator, how's it holding up? I'm interested in this item, but I've read reviews regarding the poor durability of the signal lights bracket.
+BrownBrady thanks Michael for the quick reply, I'll go ahead and order this for my CBR300. Very good installation video, I'll use it as reference for my install ;)
What exactly did you gain with this mod? Did you make the bike better? Horsepower, comfort, safety, visibility, braking power, handling, less wind buffetting or resistance, storage, fuel efficiency, engine cooling, electric heating, ease of maintenance? And you created an electrical issue.
chill man ! the bike looks a little better and clean than before. He has gained more love towards his bike after this mod. I dont know why people get so uncomfortable when someone pays a little attention to the asthetics of the bike.
The new bikes are moronic with almost no storage space under the seat. Honda and Yamaha seem to be in competition to see who can make the most silly looking bikes.

Thanks for the great video. I just bought the same bike, so far like everything about it but will keep your vid handy for a future references.
Thanks for the extremely detailed video. Will be following along step by step when I install mine.

+Andrew Lee That's great to hear it's lasted 2 years for you. That's awesome.
perfect music choice :D
Peter Gulka Haha thanks. And congrats I guess for being the first one to comment in my channel lol
So much respect for that music bud..
Much easier to remove the entire rear body section, with the taillight attached. Allows easier access to the fender bolts.
I wonder if that bracket that snaps easily is replaceable. Mine just broke and bought the whole assembly again, and hope I can just install the new bracket.
Good work 😎👍🏽
How is it when it rains? still protect the second passenger from the mud? Or when you go alone, are tracer and intermittent light stained with mud?
Do you have any idea on how to install gear indicator or at least what kind will work
You can try this one from the CBR Facegroup link: amzn.to/3tGEWqj

I have the yoshimura, but i still watched this. I was wondering how much weight did you shed from your bike?
I don’t remember but I don’t think it was very much. I replaced it mainly for looks and increased sound.
I think a small cb mounting bracket could replace the turn signal mount that comes with the kit. Or I could make a metal bracket as well. If nothing else, to go inside the plastic one to reinforce it.
Perfect thanks for your share yours knowledge and experience sir sucses for all
I drilled a hole in the middle of the bracket through the fender that way you still have a sleek look and no wires hanging.
At the end when you are inserting the license plate light into the bracket, I noticed a big red plug with a rubber cap over it. Do you what that is?
Michael Weigel Sorry, but no, I don't know what it's called exactly.
Honda Flux capacitor .
Bulumoovi
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing.
Where I can buy the fender eliminator kit complete?

hahaha.. your definitely right i was wondering why he has to pull it over..
Suzuki and Yamaha have push pins like that. Honda uses pull pins. Just manufacture preference.
