Skito Saddle Pads
I was in the market for a new saddle pad after my old one wore out.
Agnes, my riding mule, has a bad back and it makes a big difference to have a good saddle pad.

Ellis Canvas Tents
I reached out to Ellis Canvas Tents because I was just not too happy with my sleep system. I had seen their products before and was really impressed with the "Cowboy Bedroll". They sent me one to try and can say that so far it is the best I have used for Cowboy Camping.
Soon I hope I can get one of their Canvas Tents

Watch this video if you would like to watch the story of where Bonnie AKA Penny came from ruclips.net/video/hUBtq8Vy4eY/видео.htmlsi=JK6hIEKip3sBubyz and let me know if you want to see more of the training journey with these mules .. Thanks
I would love to see more training vids!! I have 6 donkeys and it would be fun to have pointers I can use.
Yes! Make more!
Yes I want to observe your training.
I’m in for seeing you train her. Puts me back in the saddle hearing my old man tell me not to let the horse “get away with that.” Your videos bring back memories I have long forgotten. Horses and hounds are a great thrill but a lot of work. Keeping the horses and hounds and yourself all legged up never stops. Talking about tack and briddles also brings back memories. Ya gotta customize it to the horse and the needs of the rider. There are so many choices. It’ll be interesting to see how you both get accustomed to one another. Thanks for sharing. You’ve got your hands full with videos, hounds, mules and family. As you say “Onward and Upward”
"My first wife never really liked me much" almost fell out of my chair laughing...only because i can relate brett, great video.
I was really lucky my dad and grandfather that I never knew but him and dad used to work mules they would go around and buy young mules they broke and trained them for the army when they used them so he would guide me about the miles I got they would ride them pack for anyone could use them hr took the miles to laythop mo. to sell the they still have mule days there every year but dad coached me because we always had horses horses like you a mule has to think things over much more than a horse and needs a little bit more time but they will never hurt themselves if they can help it hennys are so much better than a mule if you get the chance to get one buy it I thought jet was one he looked a lot like one the are prettier than a. mule and act more like a horse I think I really like them to train if I had my choice that would be all I owned but they are rare to get around here not many horses studs will breed with a molly mare but when they do it it's fore life
@@MarkSmith-on5gg haha that's crazy!! I Didn't know that about hennies, I'll have to see if my curly stud will breed my donk, could be interesting
Yep me too after 51 years.😆🤭
That's two of us!
I have 3 left. Dixie Chick is out of a sweet natured APHA mare & is a strawberry roan. Sweet mule. Wants to please. Would make a great trail mule. Mule number 2 is out of a spotted American Gaited mare. He is black/dark brown with 4 stocking. Had 6 was professional training and with a little attention would make a lovely riding mule. Has easy way of going. Mule number 3 is the youngest, but is the biggest. She is black out of a black and white foxtrot mare. I haven't done much with her, but wants a job. They are being wasted in the pasture.
Your joy in this mule looks great on you. Living the dream!
My first wife didn't like me much either. Ha😂. You and BADASS BONNIE have a Great Weekend. 😊
The world slows down when I watch these videos.
YOU ARE SO RIGHT..I LOVE THE FREEDOM.
Feel like I’m setting in a chair right with him.
I worked on a dairy farm throughout high school. Rode a horse every day bringing in the cows to the milk barn.
My daughter wants a horse so bad but I had to explain. They have more personality than a dog and you really have to spend lots of time with them if not it’s just cruel and sad.
I was able to get her riding lessons and she had her first barrel race last weekend.
Maybe I will have a horse someday.
Very interesting to see your new mules and how they get used to you and you to them, please take us along with you. It's always a treat to watch you and your rides and stories, thank you.
Bonnie likes you and being around you, I can tell! The more time you spend with her the better she will get! She is a very beautiful animal, and she has a good personality once you get to know her! I really believe you can make a champ out of her!
I wonder if we made geldings out of some of our political leaders it might help.
Lol sounds like a great idea ...
Most of them haven't got any balls to start with
I'm amazed how she let the terrorists run under her like that and never think about it. I love how she's confident and stands high and straight... beautiful mule
She is very nice!! I have a mare I'd love to get a mule out of! Her babies are amazing! She's big and quiet and great disposition!!
Looks like you’ve got a keeper
I think Bonnie is just right. Shes the type I think, when you do something tired and ya fall off she'll stand and look at you of why you do that type...Shes a good permanent one owner type that just wants a buddy like she had. Frickn good looking to boot..i really like her build.. sweet Bonnie. This should be fun❤
I like that mule Brett. The best training place for her is in them there hills! She'll make a mule.
Sure seemed that the time she was tied up and you were telling us the back story she was listening. I think she likes your voice or it sounds close to someone else who was around her. Either way that’s a plus. I guess it could also be that you’re a “Mule Talker” rather than a horse whisperer. Looking forward to your next video’s.
Festus never paid more than fifty dollars for a mule, lol.
Amazing what they sell for now days.
She's a looker too
Where do you find those nice wide brimmed hats? Spell check got my previous question. I enjoy your videos
Here you go ... amzn.to/3Kp3x7Q Thanks
I like that hat you're wearing. Looks like a Mexican straw, but not sure. What would I look for to get a wide brimmed hat?
Here you go ... amzn.to/3Kp3x7Q Thanks
I’m really excited to watch this series with you and Bonnie. I’ve wanted a mule for a long time and got to ride one this weekend for the first time. I’ve always had horses and don’t want to ruin a mule just to learn on. But I think the next equine I get will be a mule. My horse is 15 this year so it’s not to far away.
Yeah better start looking takes a while to find the right one .. Thanks
You’re a great story teller, a pleasure to listen to.
Thank you !
Makes sense, the price of a pickup truck should be less than a premium mule like yours! 😁
lol I agree thanks
She is beautiful.
Watch ''STEVE YOUNG HORSEMAN'' video's and he'll show you how to teach to respect your space.
She is really beautiful!
My first wife never really liked me much really got me!! I looked forward to your video all week hoping to see how the mules are working out. She looks like a good mule but what's with the personal space thing? Hoping to see the dun soon.
I still say she’s going to make a fine mule. The way she watches you, she’s well on the way to trusting you. I like the way you corrected her . Not blowing up in her face. That swift kick is a correction like she would get from another mule or horse. She understood that! Thanks for taking me along Bret, onward and upward friend.
Nice looking mule.
Yes Sir... Pretty head. Confirmation ain't the end all as you know, but that's a pretty girl all over.
What a beautiful mule Bonnie is! I think you hit the lottery with her. I hope she works out. Just gorgeous!❤
Thank you .. I believe so too
Well? What cime uv the roan Hancock?
Snaffle bit all i ever used for cow work also.... 2nd an third wives didn like me either.... now it jus me an dog
I don't know much about horses and mules but after watching this video I'm a little excited to see how this turns out, I might actually learn something and it's always good to know how to do things because if we have life changing events suddenly worldwide this kind of knowledge might be helpful especially if we have to go back to horse and buggies.
She’s a beauty!
I know nothing about horses but I could watch your videos all day long, so entertaining thanks x
Thank you
Hey Brett don't know much about mules, I have only had horses, yet Bonnie seems to be a good one. Take care!
I hope so .. Thanks
My big John runs over me and having the worst time changing that ..any advice would be good and appreciated
Another enjoyable video, good job! Looks like maybe you found a good one, hope so. Good luck!
She is a nice looking big mule. I loved the video and I do think that Bonnie will work out.
Me too .. thanks
She looks more like a horse than a mule, but, she is a mule, and a damn fine looking one too. Have fun Brett! Cheers
Brett, I hope you video document the training of this mule. Good watching.
Brett I think that might be the prettiest mule I’ve seen on the channel. She sure dresses up nice and acts like there’s a brain in her head. Seems to me like she was babied as a foal, given treats and taught some things but wasn’t taught personal space or manners. She’ll learn how you want it and she’ll get right. No idea what you gave for her, but she is going to be worth 3 or 4 times that in a year.
I found you when Muskrat Outdoors mentioned you in one of his videos a while back. Every year he gives us a glimpse of the horse and mule sales at the fairgrounds he maintains. Beautiful animals but they are sure proud of them and ask a very steep price!!
A good looking stout mule Brett…..she too needs to get accustomed to you, as you to her . I like her so far 🧐 I always hated to feed an ugly horse, so I didn’t ! Bonnie just may be a keeper . Thanks for…..taking us along. 🤠👍
Your welcome .. yes that why I am going so slow get her accustomed to me .. Thanks
I never really messed with horses sir ? I am North of you at the other end of the state ? Farm country but half my life in the high timber , fishing , hunting? Daughter has horses & she called me last summer cause her horse died ? The way she explained it was “ like I lost an old friend”! I feel that way bout my dogs ! Anyway I think I told you before really like your videos !
Oh my Uncle was Cotton Rosser’s right hand man “ Guy Duncan”. Still alive at 100 . Now there was a Cowboy Sir ! One gold tooth in the front saying “ Now Jimbo”! ( that’s me). Knock’em dead !
Good story sound like a good old cowboy .... Yes when you loose one horse mule or dog its like you lost an old friend .. Thanks
I think she's a good one!!!
I think so too .. Thanks
I'm in with the #226 comment and as usual more than a couple of days late... Sure wish you would open up a Mule Skinner's Course. I would surely attend a couple of few times! 😁 At my age I'm done with jumping outta Airplanes, digging fox holes, and walking everywhere but this riding a Mule thing looks real damn inviting!
lol yes riding a mule is a lot easier then doing all those things for sure .... These next few videos will be kind of a course but I'm not working with young un broke mules this is just what I do .. Thanks
Hello Bret, I like your mule, very nice color, we call them swallows or golondrina because of their color and I think you are professional in the matter, greetings from A k in Cruzes, New Mexico, USA.
Thank you neighbor !
$50.000 for a mule Judas Priest. My granddad raised mules he sold um for like $1000.00 or less for a saddle mule. That was in the early 60's of course.
I know thats crazy .. Thanks
She's gorgeous, she's hooking on! Great day!!
Another great day for you and yours, and I'm a old cowboy at heart myself, living the dream down on the AZ, Mexican border by Ruby Az, old ghost town, on any given time I just get out with my dogs and go, so because of where I'm at I do need protection but still love to do it. Thank you my new friend for the video and will be watching, stay safe and never stand still...👍💯
Thank you very much .. you do the same
Bonnie has a kind eye. Tracey (Australia)
I have a question, what do you find those nice wide brim hats?
Good luck with those new mules out there on ex-wife flats (round pen). Hope your week goes well for you and your family Brett.🇺🇲🔪🌲🔥
lol ex wife flats .. I like that thanks
In England they'd call those greyhound crosses Lurchers and used them for deer and boars.
Yes I couldn’t remember … neat dogs thanks
Love Bonnie, but ya can't teach a mule anything till he's tired. Haha Rhonda
That’s the plan … keep watching .. thanks
Bonnie is so cute! I found your channel about couple of months ago and I love it! Going back and watching older ones too! ❤ from Utah!
Thank you !!
Bonnie is a beautiful mule. Your experiences are very similar to mine. I started riding when I was a toddler and grew up with horses, my dad liked mules also, me not as much. He was born early in the 1900s and used horses on the farm so I learned how to ride and drive horses. We raised many colts over the years and I trained most of them at least halter broke and some to ride and drive. I used to use a halter with a rope with 2 snaps attached to either side of the halter at the side ring for my bosal. I think the reason some animals like to be in your space is because they trust and want your attention, it can be a problem because I have had horses almost run me over also, yeah trailers are dangerous especially when they turn around. You might have already but I was wondering if you could show more of your saddle and pack setup, the saddle looks like a heavy horn and high back cantle.i haven't ridden in some years now because I'm all beat up. Thanks for sharing your video and showing off Bonnie to us in RUclips land.🐴🇺🇸🐕🐕🐕
Yep similar for sure ... Thanks .. oh and I will try to show more of the tack I use sometime
@@BrettVaughnB100 Thank you Brett
She is alert to her surroundings while she is listening to you. She wants to get close to you and trust you.
I think so … thanks
Have you been to the ranch with the million tires?
I have a mule with the same brand, called ride the brand from the coyote mule company in cottonwood idaho. She is wonderful. Surprised this mule isnt more trained.
She sure has a good foundation someone put on her .. thanks
We had a mule when we used to live in Alabama. My husband said he always wanted anmule so he bought one
He was very good with children but took off when an adult male tried to ride him. Lol.
lol I've heard some will do that .. Thanks
I look so very forward to your posts.
This is excellent
Thank you for being you ☮
Wow, thank you
Aggravating when a horse/mule owner doesn't teach the animal anything. They get big and they're so insecure they can really hurt you.
Who ever had this one did a pretty good job really .. thanks
She`s beautiful. She knows her name well too, when you said it in the video, she looked right at you. We still miss Agnes, but with your skill level- she will be a good hound chaser for sure! Love your vids Brett as always. Keep em comin.
Another great vid. Love the music as well
lol Thanks ..
... Holy Cow...!!! The vid didn't show when you put her in the trailer and i'm watching you driving FAST down the road and the picture in my head was dragging Bonnie on her side on the road with the dogs barking for you to stop...!!! Did a fast forward and no conclusion... AGGGGGGG....!!!!
Sorry bad editing on my part .. you’re not the only one that has said that … I will do better thanks
@@BrettVaughnB100 ... all is good, just freaked me out worried for Bonnie and didn't listen to the rest of the story you were saying...
Great work, as always. Your camera work has gotten very good over the years.
I’m trying to improve thanks
I Like Bonnie and Clyde!
I can tell in your demeanor that your excited about Bonnie an Clyde .
I can't wait till the next video👍
I really am thanks
Indeed brother they are your mules call them what you want
❤good luck and be safe!❤
Thanks
Ah did you put her in the trailer? Your going pretty fast. Lol just joking
I know .. my little sister called and told me it looked I just kept going with her tied to the back lol ... that was just poor editing lol Thanks
Brett this challenge is going to be fun ! You have a spark with this new one !
I do .. I’m excited to try … thank you
That's a big mule
Outstanding
I sure hope you ain’t running that mule behind that truck that fast ! That’s cruel!!!
Wasn't fast it was a slow trot for the mule. Do you honestly think he paid $50,000 to mistreat or hurt his mule...come on
😂😂
Living the dream 🦅
Good looking mule!
I knew James Morris, he repaired a saddle for me in the 80's. He did work.
Yes he is a good man .. made my chaps made me a saddle and fixed stuff for me .. Thanks
A lot of wet saddle blankets
$50000 what's a low price what's a high price.?
That isn't what I paid for her ... but I seen one sell for a little more then that .. Thanks
That's surly a nice Sturdy Mule...best of luck with her. Wouldn't mind owning her myself.
I ENJOY ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS. FREEDOM. 👍
YES .. Thanks
Maybe I'm commenting too early why don't you let the tail out
You didn't watch the whole video .. shame on you lol
Glad to see you doing videos still Sir. Looks like you got some younger stout mules, keep up with dogs better and keep you safer out there especially up in the mountains. Thanks for the content I enjoy your adventures. Howdy from south Texas, God Bless.
Bonding with Bad arse Bonnie and good story time. Thank You for filming and sharing.
Thanks Brett!!! I truly enjoyed your video his morning. . great way to start my day.
Looking forward to her progress.
Have a great memorial day!!!
Hello from Florida Brett!😎
Great !! I think she will be a good one ., she certainly is a Looker !!
Onward and Upward is the Watchword ..
Honestly think that dog scared Bonnie when you were unloading her because it practically ran right underneath her. Maybe unload the mule first. Course she may not be used to that many dogs running around for a little while anyway it seems like she's got good temperament though. Excellent video.
I laughed when you said you were going to going to your round pen out in the middle of nowhere. Everywhere you take us is "out in the middle of nowhere".
I like Miss Bonnie alot. She may be a little pushy with you, but she has good bones, and a real sweet head, and great eyes. I like how she stood very poised whole being saddled, and she seems to listen to you very well. Shoot, the dogs didn't bother her one bit either. She's a dandy. I'll be waiting to see her run a reining pattern and become a 55k mule!
PS: Ha! I laughed when you said she needed more exercise and you were going to do it the "cowboy way". I knew what you were going to do!!
Beautiful mule and thank you for another great video , that takes our minds always from the crazy world!!
That is a beautiful mule, and seems very calm and intelligent. I hooe she works out well for you.
Thanks
Poor mule probably kept up for a mile or two 😂
lol...poor editing
Brilliant Bonnie looks like she’ll be a nice mule.
I like that ... Thanks "Brilliant Bonnie"
Is that a canvas cutter bed roll?
Ellis Canvas .. I like it .. good mattress in it
Well I'd rather one love me instead of hating me some are just more attached an that's a good thing in my book. Nice looking animal
Hope this mule is your Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T)!
Great video, I'd love to see how they both progress, it' takes time to get a mule worth it's weight in gold,
I love this, yeah she really started looking at you!! Can't wait to see the next one.
Why is her tail tied down?
I forgot to pull it out .. but she can Thanks
she is really a very pretty molly mile has lots of sense seems to not a fool by no means we would lounge her for a good time to take the edge off her and check out if she knows her voice commands whoa is the most important one
