Killing whitebeard didn’t really do any good for them, he’s one of the few good pirates. It’s ironic how they let the biggest threat to them walk away though, Blackbeard. Kizaru easily could have speed blitzed him but for the sake of plot Blackbeard will live on.
If only white beard stopped using his powers as soon as he found out blackbeard can nulify them during the fight, and started using his physical strength instead, he would of beat blackbeard for sure

So even though old rayleigh is as strong as kizaru, his rustiness and old age made him a smidge under kizaru in terms of who would win in a long drawn-out fight. Prime rayleigh would be able to help the straw hats WHILE fighting kizaru though. And defeat kizaru right after.
I'm a new One Piece watcher (recommended by my very good friend Isaac). I came on here after reaching episode 469 and the amount of chills I got during the Marineford episode is absolutely crazy. Whitebeard the most OG🥶 character I've seen in a long time. I'm about to see the rest of the Marineford arc unfold and I'm happy to get to know the OP community and I'm already a huge fan. In chapter 944 Kaido mentioned “But rather in death, that humans truly attain perfection.” This is probably his core principle in life which explains his desire for a place to die. Kaido wants to die in an epic way as well, just like how Whitebeard, Roger and Oden did But after being introduced to him I find it more likely that Kaido actually tried to go to Marineford all by himself without bringing anyone with him with the sole purpose to die in the war. His first words in the Manga? He complains about the fact that WB could die and he's jealous of it. Perhaps he thought only WB was strong enough to kill him or that 3 Admirals, the Shichibukai, Garp,Sengoku would be enough to end his life. It also make much more sense regarding Shanks meeting him and still getting to Marineford the next day without any injuries and none of his core crewmembers missing, if Kaido was all by himself there's not much he could do against an entire Yonko crew even though 1 on 1 he'd give Shanks a hell of a fight.

Not even prime Whitebeard, prime Roger or the Rocks pirates (because the crew was not in their prime) could win this. Especially not in 5 episodes. That is why. :)
I guess Roger's rival is Garp and WB is Sengoku. They seem to have a lot of battles against each other and WB even praised Sengoku's strategic abilities. I kinda wanna see a flashback of their rivalry too!

Oda has probably weakened Whitebeard because he would kill all Admirals. Oda has fighted WHitebeard where he was weakened through the illness, the age, Heart attack in the fight with akainu and the treason from Squardo, that has oda does so that whitebeard could be defeated believable
From my POV, Oda limit the power of the Marines. Why only have 3 Admirals when they can afford more? Pirates have more capable fighters than Marines. And of course, the MC is a pirate so pirates will win in the end.. That's just me though..
This is just a proof how WB is so powerful that his crew can manage to handle the navy plus the 7 warlords, only that Ace wasted and ruined their plan to save him. .thats y they lost.

Mihawk fought randoms, attacked whitebeard and fought the whitebeard's swordman, vista. Hancock was on luffy side as u said. Moria even tried to stop luffy before getting attacked by jimbei. They did what they were expected to be.. they are pirates after all... they don't care about NavyHQ as much as the navy soldiers.

Not even prime Whitebeard, prime Roger or the Rocks pirates (because the crew was not in their prime) could win this. Especially not in 5 episodes. That is why. :)

From my POV, Oda limit the power of the Marines. Why only have 3 Admirals when they can afford more? Pirates have more capable fighters than Marines. And of course, the MC is a pirate so pirates will win in the end.. That's just me though..
