Thank you so much 🧡 It didn't expect it either, especially relying only on mono samples and the internal delay and reverb, but I was pleasantly surprised, and I am having so much fun!
Great work brother🤝. Buckle up cause your in for a wild ride, this thing is a dream machine!!! I love mine. Thinking of getting another one. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration. Enjoy the ride!
I have been tempted by it since it came out, but I wouldn't expect to immediately click with it and have so much fun! I resisted the buy just because it looked way too complex to have fun right away, but I was completely wrong 😁 And thank you so much!
Bless you mate. I picked one up that was on special offer three weeks ago for 399 Euros. I immediately updated the firmware to 1.7... Then it crashed violently when I was only playing a demo track, this happened 5 times. I contacted Polyend they gave me the Beta 1.7.1b this worked beautifully. Now 1.7.1 final build is on their DL page I have installed that. Despite a few major hiccups with a brand new machine I still love it, I knew it would get sorted out. Have fun.
Thank you for the heads up! I'm gonna go download it right away. The machine is indeed great, honestly beyond my expectations: I was expecting a complex, obscure, almost pointlessly hard-to-operate. But instead: all the contrary, I even showed it to a non-musician friend, and he got hooked up immediately!
Yeah, I should just turn off the phone and stop looking at the synth market, but if I had done that now I wouldn't own this lovely machine, so...? eheh Thank you a lot, glad you like it!
We all have some degree of G.A.S. these days.......The endless access to videos like this online 24/7 doesn't help any..........................oh yeah, they're not toys, they're tools...........
I've had my eye on the polyend tracker/play for a while now. I'm worried they wouldn't feel fun, natural, immediate, "playable", etc. After watching this, it seems like that might not be the case. I love all the glitchiness/ratcheting.
Right? That was my impression too. And that's also why I bought an OP1 Field and an SP404mk2 before the Tracker: because it felt "unplayable". When I got it, I found out it was somewhat playable (the first piano track and the hihat were played manually) but with an amazing integration of creative sequencing and nice customization of the Perform page you see me interacting with. Very satisfied!
Unfortunately updating was the first thing I did :( And yeah, it froze on me twice already, with some extra pesky bug thrown in too. I hope they will fix it asap, it is definitely not trust-inducing as it is
What’s the best tutorial for ambient music i have the Polyend but im a complete novice I want to produce an ep ambient style but find my ideas are stuck as I can’t utilise the software
I admit I have no idea, I hope someone else can help you after reading this comment! The only advice could just to not focus too much on the final result you want to achieve, but to start putting together pieces that sound good to you, both alone and then in a broader context. The genre will follow!
Thank you a lot 🧡 and that's also a great question to ask under a 6 month-old video! TL;DR - get one only if you find one at a GREAT price. And by great I mean 250 or lower. I would have liked it more if I hadn’t tried the M8 Tracker, and there is no other way to say it: the M8 is vastly superior in almost every possible way. The M8 is, first of all, incredibly more responsive, managing and working with samples, running through the menus and settings, and so on. On top of that, the sound quality is unmistakably higher, and when I tried to go back to the Polyend, with the same samples, it didn't feel right. But this isn't about the M8, so... *What I like about the Polyend:* *1. Big screen* Actually, huge screen, even though it is frequently poorly used (inconsistent menus and UI in general) *2. Performance mode* is a lot of fun, and also probably the only reason why you'll ever touch the white keys *3. Controlled randomness:* you can select ranges for the values to be randomized in, very useful. *What I don't like about the Polyend:* *1. Half of the UI feels useless.* Sometimes you're forced to use the jog wheel, sometimes the keys, sometimes you can use both, but maybe only after you select something with the situational keys under the screen. But maybe, you never know, and muscle memory is hard to get, if everything feels so similar but also so disconnected. *2. It is painfully slow.* And I mean it. It is a level of slowness we're not used to in 2024. It feels like going back to 56k after having had FTTH. Everything involving samples requires you to render the selected action before even listening to it, there is a granular mode with just one grain, and the waveform when sampling is laggy, all in all, you can see it is struggling to run on the hardware provided (knowing Polyend, they definitely have the Polyend Tracker+ around the corner), and while it adds to the retro vibe, it is something that could have been missed for good. *3. The pricing.* I am obviously done with Polyend and their policy of unfinished products & intentional landfills, but, even though I don't buy something like the Tracker as an "investment", I feel a bit betrayed when I see the schizophrenic behaviour of switching between 399 and 699, repeatedly, for no other reason than... market research? and clearing inventory space for the upcoming, updated Tracker with the Mini internals. How much is your product worth, even for you as a company? Is 699 a scam? Is 399 a bargain? And what about the shops? You can be sure they're not happy either. And what about the used market? Should we all give it away for free because the company itself realized "lol, the original price was a joke, get rekt suckerz". They obviously hold no obligations to the customers about their prices, but I suspect they also learned a thing or two after the Play+ debacle.
Sounds great! What are you doing with the grid buttons? I don't know that much about the tracker but I wasn't aware of any performance oriented features, but it looks like you're using the grid buttons for something along those lines.
Thank you a lot! 🧡 And yes: I am indeed interacting with the Performance page! It consists of 12 different customisable columns, each consisting of 4 rows: OFF (the top one), and the other 3 of your choice. For example, I had the Playback Direction in the first column (FWD-BACK-RND-C20) and in the second and third I put different divisions for beat repeat (OFF-4-2-1 and OFF-1/2-1/3-1/4). I also had filters, and FX sends value: very convenient!
Lovely! 💙 Happy to see you try out the Tracker. I've never felt it was particularly good at ambient stuff, but you are proving me wrong here!
Thank you so much 🧡

Wow! Just wow😮
Thank you so much 🧡🧡🧡
must... resist... 🤣🤣
Now that the price went up again... it will be at least easier to resist! 😁
Nice work
Thank you a lot! 🧡
@@Dexba 🙂
prefect!
Honored! Thank you so much 🙏🏻
I always wondered if you can ambient with a tracker…I guess I got my answer
I never expected it to be that capable at something not 175bpm and chopped amen breaks, but… pleasantly surprised 😍
Don't update to 1.7. It's enough to put the tracker aside until a fix arrives.
Unfortunately updating was the first thing I did :(

They're working on it. :)
