Sarah has a wonderful taste.. She's having a crush on epic but not cheesy sounding metal as she has proven with Havukruunu (just one example) in the past. I mean Stormkeep, Spectral wound and Morgul Blade are fantastic pic's of the year. I had trouble believing these are American bands.. THEY sound totally European.
Anyway, congrats and thanks to the whole team for the best and devoted metal content on YT. You are all incredibly warm characters with much passion for what you do.

I'm surprised there isn't more love for Kin. I historically haven't been much of a Whitechapel fan, but Kin is phenomenal! I think I've listened to it more than Torn Arteries

Panopticon - ...and Again Into the Light, Converge & Chelsea Wolfe - Blood Moon Vol. 1, Every Time I Die - Radical, mol - Diorama & Wolves in the Throne Room - Primordial Arcana
That Panopticon is great. Drags you through all the feels and ultimately leaves you elated.

@@NbleSavage tbh, first album for me. for some reason all these "sentence as a name"-bands all blended into some idea of generic melodic metalcore to me. Everytime I Die proved me wrong. It's just a legitimately fun and consistent record.

I haven't heard the Demiser album, but the other 4 are all tops and definitely amongst my favourite of the year. Ad Nauseum and Worm in particular has been on constant rotation while I work, but all 4 are fantastic. I will check out Demiser.

Highly recommend you check out Rivers of Nihil "The Work" if you liked BTBAM. Another complex album with a lot different styles.

Top album for me is Ward of Roses by The Silver. There was a lot of loss in our family this year and that album really resonated with me and had me coming back often
Mastodons Hushed & Grim for me, More than I could chew, Gobblers of Dregs, and Eyes of Serpents, 3 of my fav songs of the year by a long shot

Great list with many of my own favorites ... but where`s FORTRESS = ?? You should take a look (or better both ears) at their debut "Don`t spare the wicked" ... it`s one of my absolute top albums of the year!
Archspire, Gojira, Brand of Sacrifice, and Fear Factor for me. Many other bands, of course, but these did it for me. Honestly, I try to listen to so much shit that I forget the newer stuff I listen to from my non-personal-legacy bands and need to listen to Hooded Menace's album again.

The pandemic has certainly given several musicians out there lots of time to work on new material. Can't complain! Really eases my nerves to see that at least music production didn't come to a halt, when it feels otherwise that the time has stopped. My personal favorite album is by a rather small, pretty unknown band called Soulglass. Their debut album Odeth, that came out this year is probably one of my all time favorites tbh. \m/
