    I have an unlocked Galaxy Z Fold3 that I use for flying my DJI Mini 2 drone. I highly recommend it. It comes with 256 GB of memory and 12 GB of RAM but no SD card slot. It also displays in 4K resolution.

      I have the Fold 3 and I love it flying with my Mini 3. The open big screen is amazing. The Fold 3 is 1,300 nits, the Fold 5 is 1,750 nits.

      I have the fold 5 also. First of all it is an amazing device for so many reasons . When used as a second device for my dad to watch my FPV flights live with the DJI fly app. With the large super AMOLED screen and 1750 nits of peak brightness, you can actually see the screen even in the bright Florida sunshine. I highly recommend this device for so many reasons. To be able to fold open your phone at any time and watch Steve's awesome videos is amazing!! You won't be disappointed.

    Well done Captain!; initial thoughts, was very surprised as to how well the DJI compared in the "Brightness Stakes"; was waiting for a significant advantage to the Tripltek however couldn't see that; now, perhaps we could see the same screens in comparison with the forthcoming Inspire 2 "Captain Drones House Fly In" video !!!!

    Fantastic review. This is perfect for those of us who still use our phones to operate our drones.1300 nit is pretty bright and I agree with you, iPhones suck when it comes to the screen brightness time. This is definitely an option to consider. Thank for sharing it with us Steve. 👍🏻

    Hi Steve, good review. The eye is logarithmic in sensitivity so the difference between 700 and 1300 nits may not be easily noticed. I have found that the 1300 nits of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is pretty useful and doesn't seem to dim like iPhones. I do use the Tripltek 8" tablets with my drones.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  7 месяцев назад +1

      Very true... if you stare at something, even if not super bright, your eyes will adapt. For me personally, I like LARGE BRIGHT displays when I'm filming professionally & getting paid for it. But when I'm just out having fun or doing a review, the small screens are perfectly adequate.

    I’ve been using the Tripltek Mini for a month now and love it, except for one major flaw. I use the phone to control an Autel Lite+ and the screen is great in bright sunlight. Also added a SIM card and use it as business phone. The major issue with the phone is it needs a basic case.. I’ve looked everywhere and haven’t found anything that fits. Tripltek keeps saying they are developing one, but I need a case now. :(

    For the brightest screen on a cellphone, today, get a google pixel 8 Pro. Number one in Dxomark scores. I think that was released after you video was made. Thanks for keeping teaching us about RC hobbie.
    Correction to the original post
    Just got an reply from "Aerial Imaging" saying:
    "Get the information right the brightness advertised for the Pixel 8 is peak brightness, the Pixel 8 works at about 600 nits sustained"
    Sorry for thr incomplete information in the original post and thanks "Aerial imaging".

    My first time using youtube comments! Your videos are always great! question unrelated to your video...sorry: i have a dji mini 2...good drone...1 issue...only on 4K 30fps in sports mode when move cam up and down i get some minor grainyness and pixelation...is this normal? Thanks! BTW, does not happen at other speeds or resolutions and clears up when cam not moving...

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  7 месяцев назад

      Interesting, I’ve never noticed that. Does it occur on bright sunny days or only overcast days? Do you move the camera up/down quickly or slow and smooth? Is your FPS set to 30 FPS in 4K or some other FPS and resolution?

      @@GSI230 To be honest, I'm not exactly certain what is happening. Grain or blotchiness in an image (as you mentioned) would normally be caused by one of the following (slow shutter speed, low light conditions, ND Filter too high, slow computer that video is being watched on, wrong codec such as H265 instead of H264 for recording, HDR turned ON).

    I think the new Pixel 8 Pro can do up to 2200 nits sustained brightness. Although i don't think that's officially out yet, so your video would be /technically/ correct at the time of upload.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  7 месяцев назад

      2200 would mean the brightness of the screen would overheat the internal electronics, unless they figured out a way around this.

    • @AerialImg

    It’s a good handy size but they came up with it a bit late for me, as originally, I bought an outdated but still new Galaxy note 8 at a much lower price for drone use which was fine but only used it a couple of times as soon after got the RC Pro and now RC 2 which work well enough. However, I do think their asking price is too high for it just for essentially a brighter screen so just as well they brought it out too late to tempt me. But that Tripltek 9 is another matter for long outdoor trips but not so much for drones as big ugly unbalanced lump on the N1/N2 controllers and them brackets oh no a nightmare. Still at least the Mini is a compact solution for multi-drone/producer use, but they should lower its price.
