Please don't thank a spiritual vampire who is amassing enormous wealth from your trusting nature, only to delude you completely. He describes reality fairly well, but listening to descriptions of reality has no value at all, and when you think it does, the descriptions become harmful, because you take them as fact without ever having perceived and understood the actual, which is the only thing that liberates. See how he has woven complacency and illusion into your mind and conditioned your brain to believe everything he says as fact and to think you have to practice. No - you have to see and understand what is, and that is not a practice. You do it naturally if or when you realize the importance of doing so. Tolle doesn't teach the importance of UNDERSTANDING at all. He teaches only to 'practice', i.e. to 'meditate', which brings in the meditator who makes real meditation impossible. Real meditation happens when we are observing what is because we seek to understand, to be aware, of what take place, because we see the importance of it. It will never happen any other way because that 'other way' is ego driven, energy profitable illusion. It profits the ego energetically but hijacts the movement from the free action of awareness and meditation and therefore destroys its healing action. Awareness is totally non-violent and won't correct you violently. So you can only discover the trap you are in and get yourself out of it. You have decided that Tolle's work is good, but I'm afraid, you are wrong. It is harming everyone who believes what he says, and that numbers into hundreds of millions of people. He has over $80 million of your money in the bank, by the way. It may be way more then that by now. When I started antidepressants, that's when my mind opened up in therapy and to Eckhart and spirituality. I came off them in September 2022 and to be honest deep down I am reverting back to my reductionist old self. I have woken up on a Sunday, ready to put my phone to the side and listen to Eckharts videos again. I want to full in love with life again.
i'm a schizophrenic on antipsychotic medication, i always wanted to ask eckhart if awakening was possible with schizophrenia.. i guess it is... thanks eckhart!
Please dear Eckhart 🙏 talk hours and hours about this question and even write a book. It's 10 years been now I'm on anti depressant and i feel it robed me of my life and I can't leave it because of its withdrawal effects
I took gabapentin for years for neuropathic pain. I do know it is used as a psych med. And my mind didn't feel like it was all there. I quit cold turkey after they wanted to up my dose higher than recommended dose. My awakening was accelerated after my mind was clear. EDIT DO NOT QUIT ANY MED COLD TURKEY WITHOUT MEDICAL INTERVENTION! I have medical training so I was able to do it without any major side effect but that is not common
Absolutely! Thank you so much for asking this question and to Eckhart for such a kind, compassionate, and direct response. He really surprised me with the simple practicality of that answer. This has helped to stem my own fear and shame and is similarly applicable for those of us struggling with how to handle the reality of our pain medications, as well. 🙏🏼
Thank you so very much. I've been wanting to stop my meds, I do not believe myself to be ill, just different than some. I appreciate the insight and incredible knowledge.
We psychiatrist are diverse. I often suggest talk therapy, mindfulness, whole foods, sobriety and exercise as the first step for healing and then recommend medication if it might help. It's always up to the patient to decide if they want medicine but in extreme cases I sometimes encourage it. If someone is severely mentally ill and doesn't want medicine I accept it fully but do feel sad as their lives can be tragic.
Very courages to ask that question. I also have been diagnosed with a mental condition, and I used to take medication. For me through meditation, crisis my consciousness awakened very quick and I somehow got paranoid and psychotic. At that time I wasn’t really aware of the essence of awakening and rather went on an ego trip. So yeah I can relate, what I experienced when I stopped taking the medication, was that my my awareness and sensitivity heightened very quickly again and even though I felt and still feel better I think doing it with a physician who is aware would have be the better idea. Hope this can help anyone.
I was briefly on an SSRI because I couldn’t handle my anxiety levels and it was a vicious cycle causing worse physical health causing worse mental health etc. I went on the medication during a period that I needed to study for and pass a career exam, then I went back off it and struggled mightily again. Then I met my wife and the stabilizing effect of a good partnership is what helps me feel very stable and safe in the world. If something happened to her I would probably be a mess again. So, can I experience awakening without the comforting, stabilizing presence of my wife? 😉 😜
Thank you, Eckhart! As a person that was raised LDS, that answer helped tremendously. I am in the middle of a family that thinks I have gone astray. I am seen as an apostate. I would love to hear your opinion about these kinds of organizations where one is taught that they are never worthy of so called “God’s blessings”unless they meet a certain criteria.
Same here, until I was 16. Never looked back. I now believe sin to be baseless, that we are all inherently innocent and cannot change this truth of our nature. And so it follows guilt as a false idea of condemnation. It's also a conscience based on an internalized authority from the outside. It is a belief and nothing more. I believe life is not an assignment but an expression!.
The urge towards awakening is in every human being, but most are never exposed to an "Eckhart," or would be able to understand it if they were. So things like religions arise, always have and always will, because it's the only way people have to at least TRY to reach their divine source. At least they are trying to be close to God! Most aren't even doing that, in this culture. I wish you peace with your family.
I awakened and then had the internal tools necessary to realize that I no longer needed to rely on benzodiazepines, adderall, and even “natural medicines” like cannabis and kratom - all I needed to rely on was myself, nature, my dog, exercise and leaders in consciousness and spirituality like Eckhart Tolle. You can become dysfunctional for a while because your body needs time to adjust to new baseline, but it’s worth it.
I've been on zoloft for 13 years and colonzopan for 10 years. It's has not stopped me from this process. Although I did get of the colonzapan. And I am currently tapering off the zoloft. I hope this can help someone.
Clonazapam is very addictive, it's a tranquilizer of sorts. Zoloftade my head feel like spinning off. Situational depression pr challenges have been treated as depression by so many doctors. Most drugs are addictive. I took myself off all of them. But not soon enough, it destroyed my integrity of who I was, and some very important relationships.

Find out your strength and help the world by showing that light to others. Dont hide your uniqueness because other people are scared of your light.
Decolonizing the mind
Beautiful ~ thank you 🕊️
Thank you for being that open, stranger 🙏it helps many people. Me at least 👍
it takes persistence. Key is not paying attention to the thoughts, then they subside of there own accord. The challenge is that a thought is a thought. Awareness that works in this case is like a spark, a flash, not another internal dialog
I was able to awaken while taking Vyvanse and Venlafaxine (they help me having a less complicated life).

Finally this question is asked and addressed ❤
I love Eckhart. Such a wonderful, kind, wise, compassionate, thoughtful, gentle human being with a wonderful sense of humor.
I got teary-eyed from what Elkhart Tolle is doing as Being...
I just stumbled upon this tonight...Eckharts explanation of the great sage Ramana Maharshi's story is one of the best things ive heard on the net..in the West he would of been put away in those early years in his teens yet he " became" one of the great spiritual teachers of all time ..wow❤.
Good question! the western world is messed up, i never fit in, therefor was heavily medicated for years, i felt like i was losing my soul till i got off all of it. We need people like eckhart speaking on this
On a similar journey here. I got off all that junk awhile back too.
Without a doubt, this terrible society is driving people nuts.
@@waltergoring8428 it is man. Some days I see nothing positive about it. We are doing okay in terms of small comfort and convenience, but no one is happy and half the population is throwing down meds just to make it through a day. We are a truly sick society.
Prevention is better than cure, we need to teach the children of today the difference between themselves and their minds and the thoughts, feelings, fears and beliefs it produces 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Weldone on saving your soul!
West world is a so dumb
How can you not like Eckhart Tolle
i once forwarded his video to a friend. She complained, "He is so SLLLOOOWWWW!!!!!!" lol. Some people have no patience for Eckhart Tolle.
Thank you for bringing this awareness to the many, many people who I am quite sure are wondering about the topic. Very wise, thoughtful insight as usual from Eckhart. 🙏

All Awakening needs is an opening, and the process of Awakening is then irreversible. Joyous joyous tidings ❤❤
I was also struggling with this question, it's so relevant for me. Thank you, Awareness (or Universe, or God, or mySelf, etc), for guiding and providing with everything that is needed! Grace is working!
Horses for courses, there are currently 8 billion beautiful individual human beings on this beautiful blue planet and no 2 of us have all the same thoughts, feelings, struggles and gifts. Some people are not currently able to appreciate the beauty of absolutely everyone else because they suffer from the terrible affliction called judgement , there are many ways in which humans struggle and there are many different paths to freedom from suffering , including that of judgement of others 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Another good idiom John! You must know loads of them?😊love your comment too mate! I wrote one earlier about big pharma business but it was deleted? Mmmm, I wonder why?😂🙏
Very true, very well said. I've often heard in Eckhart's talks, he uses words like, "I will not advise you what decision to take, that's upto you.... ". What Eckhart does is provide a general broad framework of guidance and wisdom!
Grateful for your comment❤!
@@stephenflood3463 Hi Stephen mate, thank you. I'm a huge fan of sharing and supporting each other through life's journey and sometimes we are all stronger than at other times in our life. Together we are all stronger than any of us are on our own, sometimes we are the givers and sometimes the receivers of support and this in my opinion is part of life's wonderful beauty 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@zaringonda6068 I agree, part of what makes Eckhart so good and so helpful to listen to is he doesn't tell anyone anything, he merely shares his own opinions, beliefs and experiences with us all. Eckhart has a wonderful understanding of the human mind and how we suffer because of our relationship with it and his explanations help millions of people find a path to a much happier and more peaceful relationship with their minds 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@zaringonda6068 I agree, Eckharts advice on this topic is outstanding.🙏
Yes, It is a necessary question in my case and a beautiful and full of hope and light answer. Thanks both for make the question and Eckhart for Answer.
Is the conscience Itself speaking. Thanks a lot.❤
Awareness is always rising whether you’re aware of it or not… but it’s quicker without any disturbance ….hence meditation ✨
I've been pondering this for a while too. Eckhart's first response there was so perfect.
Thank you Eckhart… this is so powerful to so many people who feel stigmatised by the Western views on mental illness. ❤ much love. This has made me tear up for the people who have been defined by the harsh labels of Western Countries
Nothing can stand between yourself and the power of awareness!!I'm Loving it!!!
I am a conscious human, but at the same time, I struggle deeply with an imbalance and depression and anxiety. I’ve contemplated going on medication and I’m not a fan, but it’s different when you feel you absolutely need it. yes you can go and heal with ayahuasca and psychedelics and other alternative methods but that’s not guaranteed either. It’s a tough thing when you’re not in a great place mentally conscious or not.
You must to be a bit of an adult but it doesn't
Ok thanks Krishna mantra I don't have to be in my house and it
Sorry to bother seeing your email to me please see where we do to get it done for a week after I love cats so much
Sorry to be able and universe and it will make sense
Oh no that's so good of him and the intellectual one with you and you can understand why it doesn't look different and you are that you can do anything with me in your house for the love for the spiritual mind is the best for the rest to do the job to the most interesting person who lives at home to help you are not
Love and light everyone. You are the Awareness that is our true higher self. What you are aware of is not you, and anything in your head will be subsided.
Eckhart always NUMBER ONE ❤️
If you Out there have anything, you can Shift it through recognising it, through awareness 😊❤
Got awakened after 8 months of being of Dextroamphetamine (got diagnosed with ADHD). Met my twin flame, got awakened. Still on meds, all going fine ))
Medication helped me to awaken. Trust me it’s possible ✨
It happened to me once while drinking
A greatly nuanced answer by Eckhart

Thank you for that question. It gives me great hope, I am aware, but at the same time taking medication. I have tried ti get off it 4 times, but the withdrawal is so difficult to deal with. I will consider what has been said and see if I can progress forward.
I was able to experience presence and awakening on medication! I was taking Escitalopram (and still do).
But when the effect of that medication is gone, the feelings you are struggling with will inevitably come back STRONGER. In the end, you will have to face it completely without any help from anything or anybody. Don't worry. No matter what happens, Awareness will always be there for you.
@@Perujay-dl2bs that was actually 14 years ago :) for me taking medication helps me tremendously and is a necessary part of my well being and mental health. It doesn’t make me happy though; it is a tool I use to increase my sense of well being and stability so that I can do the necessary work on myself to experience healing and presence. That is great if you don’t need medication; some of us do and that’s okay too. The quality of life I experience with it is immeasurable. :)

@@portasegura-rn9fi Thanks for sharing them❤️🙏
@@portasegura-rn9fi PS I found the text by Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer entitled "Testament of the New Germanic Medicine" really interesting. They made his life impossible but his studies are very interesting
My experience is that neither Psychiatric Medication, Coffee or Alkohol is disturbing the awaking.
I can add chemo to that list. ...who knew. 🤷❤️
Amazing! We can safely add cannabis to the list as well 💚
Beautiful question. Beautiful answer and dialogue.
Jag hoppas och tror att jag trots livslång medicinering med psykofarmaka. Kan vara medveten och befinna mig i nuet.❤
What a beautiful and compassionate answer. Thank you Eckhart.
i'm a schizophrenic on antipsychotic medication, i always wanted to ask eckhart if awakening was possible with schizophrenia.. i guess it is... thanks eckhart!
I think it's a possible, many times is a better from being normal
Yes it can.
You using??
Great, thank you, Eckhart, I agree with you and what you say is helpful.❤🙏
Thanks for sharing this important information for those who are suffering with mental afflictions 😊💜🙏
Amen. Love and needed this. 😢
Awareness is healing. What a wisdom❤
that made me crying ....
Eckhart is a cool man 💐
Loved it!
And I totally understood this becoz I am actually the patient of psyzophenia!!
Many thanks. Peace ✌️
I needed to listen to this so bad! ❤ Thank you.
Me too...🙏
An important discussion. Thank you, Eckhart ❤️
This made me cry. It's what I have always wondered.
Good question
Thank you Eckart❤️. Thank you to all his followers too😘
Please dear Eckhart 🙏 talk hours and hours about this question and even write a book. It's 10 years been now I'm on anti depressant and i feel it robed me of my life and I can't leave it because of its withdrawal effects
Dr joe dispenza is life changing ❤❤❤❤❤
I took gabapentin for years for neuropathic pain. I do know it is used as a psych med. And my mind didn't feel like it was all there. I quit cold turkey after they wanted to up my dose higher than recommended dose. My awakening was accelerated after my mind was clear. EDIT DO NOT QUIT ANY MED COLD TURKEY WITHOUT MEDICAL INTERVENTION! I have medical training so I was able to do it without any major side effect but that is not common
That was powerful!
That was just beautiful to witness.
Microdosing psyocibin was so much better for me that horrible SSRIs, it also had zero side effects.

Echart tolle is the combination of beauty and pure intelligence❤
One of the wisest people on the planet
Thank you so very much. I've been wanting to stop my meds, I do not believe myself to be ill, just different than some. I appreciate the insight and incredible knowledge.
Thank you so much to the questioner and to ET of course!
Yes it can, I have entered extremely still states of consciousness when smoking cannibas. I have noticed it makes my mind become so quiet ..
yessssss ive been doing it for 2yrs now
The game changes when it dawns on you that you are not human.. Building on top of that is unnecessary
Hi, from Mauritius
Best question ever
Thank you. A much needed reminder. So grateful
Well said❤
Thanks
fantastic
Thank you 💜🙏💜
I started today again on meds I'm tired of repetive thoughts I came to watch to be present
Regards from Brazil ❤
I needed to hear this. Good one.
Witness your own spark⚡️
Great question and awesome answer!
