Just did this pass yesterday. No way I will do it again. I have done other passes including Beartooth, and for me, this grade was the scariest. I was in a passenger vehicle and couldn't get it to slow down either in 2nd gear. No thank you. I will drive the extra hour around to Grand Teton.
Wow, I didn't realize it was also bad in a car! I hope you got to enjoy the Teton/Yellowstone area. On my trip I just finished I did the dirt forest road between Teton and Yellowstone, that was a different adventure! The dirt road went from Ashton to Flag Ranch, should be posted in the next 3 weeks or so.
I totally agree with you, this was only the second time I had ever pulled over on the way down to let the brakes cool, the first was on a pass in Death Valley.
Doesn't look bad to me. I drove a 32K GVW Renegade motorhome towing a car trailer with a pickup on the trailer up and over Loverland Pass on Hwy 6 in Colorado. I just put the transmission in 7th gear and the engine brake on high. Motored down with zero problems. Descends from 12,000' to 10,600' in about 6 miles.
I saw that, it is actually on the west side of the pass in my Tetonia to Teton Pass video. I watched the pre-slide footage and a person would never guess that this could happen there, used to have thick trees on either side.
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing , I drove that road for over 10 years day in and day out winter and summer. I grew up there. I know the road very well. Always respect it. I have hauled off wrecked trucks off of that pass.
In this video I was driving a 25 foot Sprinter RV. Now we have a Chevy Colorado diesel and pull a 23 foot Vintage Cruiser travel trailer. We got tired of not being able to take the RV everywhere, now we can unhook the trailer and use the truck to go on any road or parking lot.
No problem, put me in the credits :) I hope it turns out well, is it for fun, school, or a job? If you put it on RUclips please put a link in one of my videos comments section, would love to see it.
Awesome, looking forward to the next chronicles. I wish more people would do videos like you, reminds me of the original Blair Witch Project and how people can make things with minimal equipment and free talent :)
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing thank you so much for you’re kind words! The film that I’m working on is actually not another installment of the Huntsville Chronicles. It’s actually the third installment to The Car Goes Vroom.
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing Thanks. I've been taking driving videos on my old Go Pro Hero 4 and I've been a bit disappointed with the quality of the 4k so I was curious.
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing where do you mount it? I will be travelling from west coast to east coast for first time. Any tips in wyoming area? They said its dangerous. Im kind of nervous.
I have the GoPro suction mount for the windshield. Wyoming is beautiful, not sure why they told you it was dangerous? If I sleep in a rest area or parking lot I always make sure other people are there, otherwise a hotel room if I must.
True, I have gotten better since this video. Back then I was trying to be an RV channel and let other RV's know of the hassles on some of these roads. Now the worst I talk about is buying crappy bio-diesel at gas stations while traveling. I actually like the videos I make that I talk less in, it is hard sometimes when traveling alone for sure. To me the sound of the road noise is relaxing.

In '73 I bicycled from Dubois to Jackson in the morning, ate and slept, bicycled from Jackson to Victor Idaho in the afternoon.....
Wow, bikes back then were very heavy, would be hard!
This was one of the scariest passes I went down in a Sprinter 2500

@@AmericanOutbackAmazing Dude, I had to stop watching the video after 10 minutes because of your constant whining!

Nice, I wish I had had an engine brake. At the time was driving a 2015 Sprinter 3500 RV, weight loaded was 11-12k pounds.
Hello,Very nice job, love your video. Thank you my friend Have a nice day✨✨
Thank you friend :) This one was of my favorite videos in the past few weeks!
Thank you for this great video It looked beautiful if you were in a car with this be a scary drive to you??
In a car it would be easy.
The highway over the pass is gone. Slid down the mountain a few weeks ago.
I saw that, it is actually on the west side of the pass in my Tetonia to Teton Pass video. I watched the pre-slide footage and a person would never guess that this could happen there, used to have thick trees on either side.
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers! I want to do some hiking next time I am in that area, so beautiful.
Driven this pass every day for 2 years you'll learn to go 60+
Yikes, in the winter to?

You mentioned in this video that the town square has a LIVE camera to view the area . Do you have the name of that so I can look it up ?
This is the one I like.

They have a bunch of other cool camera feeds on this site :)
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing amazing. Thanks!
You are welcome. The Jackson / Teton / Yellowstone area is possibly my favorite place in the entire country!
I rode a skateboard down this once.....only once.
Seriously, from top to bottom? That would be a ride!
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing I rode it in three stages. That was a long time ago. I came across this video trying to remember the ride
What type of truck are you driving? F250 has engine brakes,
I was driving a Sprinter 3500 RV on this drive, weighed between 11-12k pounds.
Hey, I hope it is ok that I am taking a small portion of your video to use for a movie I am making. Just let me know if you are not ok with it.

I will check those out.
What's your filming setup?
I am using a GoPro Hero Black 8 while driving, I turned off the wide angle view since it makes to much distortion.

I am happy with the 8 and don't plan on upgrading :)
What camera do you use
It is the GoPro Hero Black 8 edition. I turned off the wide angle view since it distorts tall things at the edge of the video.

the trucks and trailers and cars and everyone else made it just fine. you talk to much about your vehicle and not enough about the scenery.

Honestly this looks easier than Mt Washington but I will find out next month 🥲
Mt Washington, New Hampshire?
