Thanks for the info Peter I have a D4D very reliable if you service it regularly. I’ve heard that the whistle they all seem to do after a certain period is a wastegate manufacturing flaw when Toyota developed it.
Hi peter , i have a yaris with 2nz-fe engine 123.000 km , i used a 5w40 oil since it was new ,when i cold start the engine i hear a sound for 2 or 3 secondes like the oil is so thick and take time to circulate , my question here is it safe to change the viscosity to 5w30 ( recommended by the manufacturer) knowing that the engine does not consume oil . Thank you so much for your great videos
@@somethingdifferent9387 It is not good to use a thinner grade oil in colder temperature's Bearing surfaces need oil to pass quickly. I once use Lucas oil stabilizer and left it in too long. Winter came and the first morning i started it i could hear bearing knock so i changed it right away
Fantastic video. I have a pristine 2006 1.4 D4D Turbo Corolla; 110,000 miles, it runs like a 2 year old car. I change the oil every 6 months, Mobil 1 fully synthetic, and I include a maintenance dose of Engine Restore. A Brilliantly designed engine and car, still giving me 70mpg on a run, 55mpg around town.
2litre diesel Corolla fitted with 1cd ftv is the best, simply the best & better than all the rest, better than anything, anything I ever met (Mercedes, bmw, Audi = crap modern engines). Seen any old ones on the road ? nope. But my beauty 1cd ftv is still running...please use BG245 to remove carbon soot in high pressure rail engine fuel system.
Excellent information and excellent engine Peter! Make new video series with this engine!

Great information videos, will you be doing a Petrol fuel filter on a Toyota 1.8vvti?
Hi. There is no fuel filter in this model.
What is that square ish cannister in the engine bay, near the air cleaner housing?.. I was under impression that was the Petrol filter housing?
Thank you, i was wondering how waste gate was controled
Thanks for comment. 👍
