It's wild how the Aaron West persona has his own quirks about live performances. Almost reluctant, nervous, unsure in his delivery, the way his voice shakes. Amazing dedication.
Noticed this the other day when I saw Aaron West and The Wonder Years for the first time, the Aaron West character was much more nervous and reluctant than Dan in The Wonder Years, who seemed very confident.
Dan is hands down the most talented singer I have ever met. Between the writing and the vocals, anyone who has worked on the wonder years/Aaron west has absolutely blown me out of the water. Good job.
I love Wonder Years to death (first tattoo is TGG inspired) but I wouldn't go that far in terms of vocals. You've got all kinds of talent in multiple genres like Dance Gavin Dance (Tilian), Muse (Matt Bellamy), Tool (Maynard), etc. All of whom are probably in another vocals league vs. Dan.
@@MrEricLenser Fair but it's subjective and I've never heard anyone sing with the same genuine emotion as Dan, it comes from a place most other can't or won't tap into. As for writing the early stuff is great for it's own reasons but the last 3 albums are a master class of lyrical writing and story telling.
The first time I saw Aaron West I was only familiar with the Wonder Years, and hadn't heard anything else. There's something special about hearing these songs live for the first time, and experiencing the entire character of Aaron without already knowing the albums front to back. I wish I could have that experience again.
I hope you're not as torn up as your music has always let on. If its any consolation though, the way you channel your emotions and experiences into these songs has helped me come out of some really dark spots in my life. Thank you for doing what you do. You mean a hell of a lot more than these songs suggest you tell yourself you do.
this song hits deep bc I remember my dad talking so much about how him and my mom used to live in Asbury Park around when they first got married and my dad got his ass beat defending my mom. The whole Aaron West saga reminds me of their story too, with the sad ending and all, but it's great to feel someone who speaks about something that you're so familiar with.

I think some of it is part of the character but Dan is super shifty and nervous during smaller acoustic performances too.
Definitely something ive loved from Dan. Nobody can convey emotion as well as him

@@WelcomeToMylesUTube Do you mean he's awkward and nervous? :D

The new album is gonna make me cry just like We Don't Have Each Other and I'm fine with it. So much emotion in Dan's voice, so raw, so pure. Love it.
I love all the new Aaron West songs but this one is the best.
Bravo Sir
I was picturing the whole damn scene so vividly this entire time he was singing it
Prabhat Pathak same man
I'll always love Dan Campbell's voice and songwriting. He's amazing in either indie or pop punk. A true inspiration.

Major props to whoever was running the sound, so crisp and it sounds excellent!

Since when does he have a sister???
I’m pretty sure She is first mentioned in the song Our Apartment.
