Welcome to Ultralight flying. Ever wondered what a bicycle with wings look like? well this is it. Say hello to Evolution Trikes; a company that builds and sells ultralight aircraft like the Rev, Revo and Revolt.
I’m just being introduced to these flying evolution myself and it certainly is very intriguing. From what I’m told, you are legally not required to have a license to fly these, or many ultralight aircraft in the united states. It is recommended that you become licensed or at least get some proper training before you jump in and go flying.
Evolution Trikes currently offer 3 models starting with the Rev, a small engine trike with only 5 gallons of fuel tank on board. It will cruise at 40-45 mph. And You’ll get about 2 hours of flight time with 5 gallons of fuel. Now given the nature (weight and construction) of trikes. Best to fly on calm cool days rather than a windy day.
The smallest trike here starts at $20,000. You may visit evolutiontrikes.com to get more info

What I like regarding these guys is the fact that their page on internet has everything you need to know including the price, which is a little bit rare for air trikes makers.
I wished for years I could fly one of these but definitely out of my financial reach. They look beautiful! 💖
Fantastic video! I've flown both the REV and the REVO and they're both just a blast to fly!
I use to be a ultralight dealer and pioneer back in the late 70's early 80's. One hell of a lot of fun. Had some 300 hours in many types. Start building/flying hang gliders in the early 70's off the sand dunes along lake Michigan.
Cool...
Why stop?
bipola telly The business died in the early 80's with a 60 mins expose making them look dangerous, sales dried up and people stoped flying them. It's only in the last couple of decades that they've come back somewhat. It's now the light sport aircraft that have grown.
What a beautiful pair
I did a demo in a Revolt at 2018 sun n fun. I’m going in May to pick one up that’s being built for me right now! Can’t wait! I think Amy was mistaken in part of this video though, as far as the weight limits for the Revolt. She said it was 200 pounds in the front seat and 250 in the backseat but it’s actually 250 up front and 300 in the back. She misspoke. I just contacted Larry Mednick and he reassured me it’s 250/300 for the Revolt, and You could even certify it as an ELSA, and modify the Hang point to get it certified for 300 up front!
I understand that she understated the weight limit. Is it safer if you put less weight? I’m just now getting into flying.
USA's Last Resort -Yes she misspoke on the seat weight limits. As normally configured it is 250 lbs. up front and 300 lbs. in the passenger seat. It can actually be adjusted to allow for 300 lbs. up front as well. An aircraft is not necessarily safer if loaded lighter, but they do fly a little differently when lightly vs. heavily loaded, and that should be taken into consideration by a good pilot. With the “Rival X” wing, the REVOLT has a maximum takeoff weight of 1160 lbs. and is rated to +4G maneuvering load. The REVOLT carriage weight is 424 lbs. plus a few if you add options like the roll cage windshield. The Rival X wing is another 124 lbs. with electric trim. So you’re looking at approximately 600 lbs. of aircraft which leaves you 560 lbs. for fuel and people. That’s two fat Americans at 250 lbs. and 10 gallons of fuel. That’s enough for almost 4hours of flying. Even at max gross weight the aircraft is a impressive performer. Check that out here: ruclips.net/video/dWJvqWubcQ0/видео.html - As for “safety” like anything, flying is as safe as you make it. I know that is stated a lot, but it’s true. Some pilots fly safely, keeping the aircraft loading and maneuvering within design limits, they diligently consider weather conditions, carry enough fuel for their intended flight, and have a contingency plan for the unexpected. Then there are pilots who are unsafe and get hurt. There are no commercially available aircraft that you could call “unsafe”. If they were, they wouldn’t be on the market for long. The REVOLT can be built as an S-LSA which means it is Factory built and meets the FAA accepted ASTM industry standards for quality of materials and manufacturing. If you load it and fly it within your skill and the aircrafts design limits, properly service and maintain it, follow regulations and get proper instruction, and don’t fly it like an idiot, you should have many happy and safe years of flying. This is true in ANY aircraft.
AV8R Tom Sure you are, it’s a year later. Where’s your channel showing you flying it? 🧐
These are the pinnacle of quality
I think I want one. Pretty cool.. 😀
Excellent video, very informative.
Amazing equipment.
O top da aviação, de cores envolventes.
This video is better than one covered by "Light sport and ultralight flyer" channel.
Would be awesome for a big backyard runway
Very fun machine, I flew with (Air Creation) in Congo (500h)
Did you go up in one they are a blast took a demo ride in one
Great job 👍
Good job
Good job fair
Aw goood 👍
Great video as always! What kind of jerk can give that a thumbs down? If you are even in VA, come fly PPGs!
Sometimes I swear there’s people that just give a thumbs down to every video no matter what. Some people are just assholes because they like to be.
AV8R Tom- too bad for them. Life is great in the air.
Thomas Anderson They probably saw the price on these things. There so over priced it’s ridiculous. You can get a 4 to 6 place airplane for what a new one costs so maybe not everyone is all giddy about them.
Powered paragliders are the way to go, price wise. Plus they are so much fun.
Gleanerman Paragliders will run you $30 grand and up after instruction and a decent motor and all you need to be safe and do it right. And there’s insurance so still not real cheap but yes, cheaper.
Nice and big
How much engine cc and HP please reply
Did you say your factory was in Desert Hills? Where are you folks located?
Your trikes are beautiful and look like they fly very smooth and fast.

OK, thanks for the info. Great stuff.
Can you please let me more the wing parts ? Thank you
What a wonderful pair...of wings
Thank
I really like the looks of these...but the questions are 1) How far? 2) How fast? ... then the one you didn't seem to answer...3) How much? Also, where is the flying bike? I know the German company Fresh Breeze makes one called the Flyke, but I was hoping you guys would have one too.
www.evolutiontrikes.com has ALL of those answers. the fastest most expensive is $120,000 that will cruise at 100 MPH and cover 300 miles on a tank. the cheapest is $20,000 and will cover 90 miles at 43 MPH.
Ha donde puedo tomar las clases
Where are you located
Would there be anyway someone with one arm could fly one?
Hi.. how many rpm?
What name of the trike in the 0:05
You mentioned used trikes, you guys ever take trades?
фары нельзя устанавливать выше уровня глаз пилота.
Потому что при попадании ночью в туман, перед глазами будет белая стена.
The headlights must not be installed above the pilot's eye level.
Because if you get into the fog at night, there will be a white wall in front of your eyes.

So this raises the question of just how hard would it be to train a bot to fly a trike.
There could be a number of applications for doing that (both commercial and military), so the question is just how hard would it be to train a bot to actually fly one of these and what regulatory and safety hurdles might one face in doing so?
Hi sir assamblinge wing only $ how much sir
like to have one for myself
Price of it please..
Me encanta y quiero uno cuanto cuesta es mi sueño y soy piloto de ala delta
Chaih ... Bad luck not able to buy it because it's is not available in india
Thank you, my esteemed Madam, for your valuable explanations on how to use a glider... but the application on RUclips does not have a translation... into Arabic. For your information, Madam, I made a plane like your glider... with a motorcycle engine since 1999.
So, what's the big deal man?
How much is it
Mike, have you considered a Pulsar?
I did but that thing is tight
@@mojogrip I don't have a license but I have some income and I'm getting more and more into the thinking of getting a plane and I find out that at least here in Denmark, fractional overship is quite common. As an example there is a semilocal new Pipistrel Alpha offered for 3k$ for 1/8 and 120$ a month for about 3 years until it's paid off. 50$ an hour tacho time. Not sure what that covers. 1/8 might be too little for you but that's dirt cheap into a brand new certified plane. That's so cheap I could just buy it and it would hardly register in my finances and it's a brand new quality bird, not some soul crushing cessna from 68. (I blame cessna for their hideous planes :) even 1/3 or 1/2 majorly takes the edge off ownership and you could luck out it's some well off elderly dentist that never uses his part :)
Wow. Looks so neat but 40-90k seems like a lot, right? I mean I can get a used RV-4 for under 50k
I found a quickie for 8k, and yes, it is in usable condition (and it is like a golden apple compared to ultralights, though very quirky)
Availeble in Europe?
DailyTech trikes started in Europe.
yes they are.

Way too much money for a kite !
Lol this is no evolution, so ur saying that a bike mixed with a hang glider is evolution, whats next flying whales
For people on the ground: unbeareable noise polution. Not fun!
Want earplugs?
That's why I love being a pilot. Get above the whining masses and feel real freedom
Thomas Anderson : an electric Engine would do it too. Or for now at least the obligation to put a proper exhaust on it.
@@Fr99763 I agree with the proper exhaust. the noise gains nothing. We are all holding out breath for cost effective electric alternatives.
I guess if somebody just flew circles around you for an hour you could call it noise pollution but an airplane flying by and heading off into the horizon should not be bothersome to anyone.
Over priced
