enn this is interesting: this new version has a different arrangement (from its original, "folk/pop" style), and sounded a lot like its (famous) Chinese version (by Jiang Yuheng); Chen Chih-yuan was the arranger of the adapted version. before i saw this video, i had given lots of credit to Chen for his arrangement: i thought he kinda inject a bit more "modern", pop/rock flavor (in late 80's term, of cause) into the song, which contributed to its huge success... but now, thanks for this posting (and your notes, LP2D), i realize that Jiang's version and Nagabuchi's own "new" version were both released in 1988... so i really wondered if Chen deserves all the "re-arrangement" credit.(i mean if Nagabuchi's new arrangement came out first, then Chen was just fast...) but anyhow, Chen was a great musician and his death was a tragic loss to pop music fans... RIP!
