Some years ago we were in a car going to Bakers Field, from the East. On the highway somewhat parallel to the tracks, we saw about 5 trains stopped….with about 5 miles between them. Further down we saw a few train cars hanging down on the side of the mountain. Apparently they derailed and just about fell off the mountain side…there was a lot of railroad traffic using that route. This film is fantastic, my thanks to those filming the trains.

A good way to catch up on the action on both BNSF and Union Pacific in the midst of coronavirus during a stay at home order. While the BNSF and Union Pacific train crews must risk their lives today in the middle of this pandemic bringing in the goods. For the people of BNSF Railway and Union Pacific, please be safe and take care out there on the high iron!
I spent a day here chasing trains up and down the pass while my wife was at a work conference about 10 days before you shot these videos. I am impressed with your angles! I was too nervous to really venture down to the tracks at the loop and follow the roads along the tracks through Woodford, Marcel, Bealville, etc. Do you ever get hassled driving along the ROW? Do you have any tips for how to not be hassled? I am always super careful about where I am, not getting in the way of crews doing their jobs, and trying to be invisible to RR crews and locals.
Very nice - although I must disagree with the choice of places in which to view the train action. If memory serves me right, this could be known as trespassing on railroad property. That is unless you got permission to venture rather close to the tracks.

I’ve seen trains using Cajon pass out of Los Angeles, but this video beats them for the engineering that went into the layout!

it was cold if you look in the upper right hand corner of every new train then you will see I threw the temperature up there.

I have not had any problems yet. Most of the time they don’t seem to care... but of course that depends on who you run into
