      The difference is Ed and Stede can do what they want. As Stede said, they are prone to whim so they can go for what they want and consequences be damned. Aziraphale and Crowley on the other hand, are operating under a different set of rules and situation. Aziraphale is overly cautious, because he knows that there is a possibility that someone somewhere is listening in to their conversation or watching them, and there will be consequences in "fraternizing with the enemy". His boss is literally God who can punish and erase them from the Book of Life any given time. Crowley, on the other hand, is jaded with authority and wanted to keep the one good heart that he found through the millennia which was pure and kind without expecting any reward, which is Aziraphale. However, this had consequences because in keeping Aziraphale safe and pure, he also kept him ignorant.

      Naaaah Aziraphale stood up against Armageddon literally in front of Heavenly forces and now he can't even have an open conversation because someone MIGHT be listening in? And there's no time in the last 6000 years he could have? That's predicated on the assumption that he doesn't actually think Crowley would be happy to rise, and was just saying it cause someone might be watching (alternatively he actually thought Crowley would jump at the offer, which, yikes). Nope, Aziraphale is less in touch with his partner of 6000 years than Stede who barely knows Ed. I'm mad at Aziraphale.

      That's call dramatic beats. Stuff go bad so you can have the release of it being fixed. I am so tired of the good omens comments as if it wasn't evidently setting up a resolution in season 3.

    It is remarkable that Ed never treats Stede with the violence with he has treated other people. Yes, he has thrown things in front of Stede and head-butted him, but the hit was while Ed was in shock, unable to fully control his body. Olu was convinced that Ed would kill Stede when he saw him and the truth is that Ed simply spoke very little to him, but he also did not throw Stede away from him. In fact he doesn't ridicule Stede either. Ed could have told Mary and Anne a lot of Stede's funny situations to make him feel bad and he didn't. He agreed with Stede that they were very happy sailing together. Ed does not lose the essence of his love for Stede even in his worst moments.

    Why wouldn't he tell him that he was kidnapped the night they planned on running away? 😥 Maybe he was alreadt having some fears/doubts and feels like bringing up what happened would be like making excuses

    • @NoFirstNoLastName
      @NoFirstNoLastName 9 месяцев назад +23

      Yea I mean, to be honest, it’s admirable for him to take the blame and not push it on someone else BUT it would offer some relief to Ed that it was a completely untriggered 180. Stede was held at gun point and confronted with all his guilt and shame of abandoning his family and all the unworthy feelings he has about himself when it comes to Ed loving him.
      Ed would not have liked to hear that, but it would be a lot better than “you shaved your beard, asked for a big change and I got scared,” which was only partially true.

    • @Ashbrash1998
      @Ashbrash1998 9 месяцев назад +14

      I think Stede realized that before he was kidnapped he was already having issues. Because even after it was over he still ran away and didn't even tell Ed what was going on and abandoned him.

    Spoiler for Good omens (and OFMD but if ur watching this u probably already know about it-):
    What I find so funny about Stede and Ed as well as Crowley and Aziraphale is that they both had so much in common with me and my ex, the only issue was that our situation was worse than theirs. It’s no fairytale, and although Stede and Ed are pirates, they weren’t as fucked up as my ex and I, they were able to be proper adults and understand that they were taking things way too fast, whereas we were too young and stupid and mentally unwell to realize we were in over our heads, and with Crowley and aziraphale, well, I can relate to Crowley. Aziraphale saw something in Crowley that they could fix, that they could heal. Perhaps there wasn’t anything to fix, maybe like me, Crowley was who he was. And their ending with both showing the worst parts of themselves, and leaving without another word, was a lot like ours. Except I can only hope that she had the same reaction of heartbreak and agony as Aziraphale did so it shows that I’m not the only one in my suffering, that I meant a lot to her. It’s so funny seeing these little romcom gay fictional characters be so real to me, I hope the best for both relationships, so they can thrive where we didn’t.
    Plus a common nickname one of these relationships used is the name of my ex actually- hopefully that was vague enough to not give it away-
