Amazing mix.
This is legit one of my fav channels on RUclips. Love just learning about the different kinds of music there is.
Amazing, as always!
I think this was a great mix, with some shine out pieces like from GaGaGa Dance and Gundam. I would love to see some more mixes focussing on different basslines, especially on the Megadrive basslines, as I think the FM bass of the Yamaha chip has a lot to explore there. Yeah even though most were just playing through CRT tv speakers of the time, it was quite interesting when you ran the tv through an amp if you could, being able to get the full richness of the bass tones made for a rather different experience
Did you know that the SNES port of Spriggan Powered was developed by Micronics? They're most known for the NES versions of Ghosts N Goblins and Super Pitfall.
First, loved your mix, really is catchy and syncs perfectly, big fan btw
P.s any plans for a Genesis mix?
for genesis mixes, you'll have to dig into my old videos.
my first mix is still one of my favorites. check it out if you haven't
@@GSTChannelVEVO will I have and what I meant to say is that if you have any plans to make new Genesis mixes
@@interlaced_maniac I've no plan, sorry to say.
I haven't announced it yet but I'm going to shift focus to the Sega Master System (and Gamegear) in the not-too-distant future.
@@GSTChannelVEVO Master System and Game Gear is a good choice. 😎
Breathtaking as always!
Amazing mix as usual ^^ the ga voice sound comes from the Yamaha TG55 and TG77 drum kits, it's a classic sound.
big love for your works from japan
Very cool!
Damn, what a rad video.
SHMUPS!!!
Nice mix. Though, some tunes from Gradius 3, Axelay, Phalanx, and Lagoon should've been added.
6/10 fair?
perfectly fair! not every video can be a winner for everyone. I could probably have exercised some more genre discipline here, but instead I took a few opportunities to meander.
hopefully the next one will resonate more with you
I'd go 8/10, it's the mechanical SNES bass guitar that kills things but it's an amazing mix nonetheless! Well dons and keep it up. I'd love to see some Megadrive love soo !
It’s remarkable how a sample based chip can make such a similar sound across so many games. It would be slightly less tedious if it could actually generate a bass tone which is lower than about one octave from middle C.
Sorry. I find SNES music just as dull as dishwater.
Many composers made samples from the same few synthesizers, the Korg M1 being among one of them
@@zaremol2779 that’s not it. It’s just not got enough sound ram.
I've experimented with sampling a sub bass before and it works fine
@@livvy94 it’s a simple matter of recording some music and seeing how low the bass goes. Judging from this video (and others) it’s not very low.
remarkable how? a sample based chip is much more likely to produce similar sounds accross games than a synthesiser because its using samples! and if they weren't sharing samples the samples they were taking were from a very a small selection of keyboards and drum machines that were usable at the time.
