Btw - You could use/connect the MOD CV Output of the Keystep to connect e.g the Filter of the Behringer and open/close the filter with the Modulation Touch Pad. The Mod output is just another control voltage you can use for other B2600 parameters.

I would also like to add that there is difference using 5v or 12v to trigger the S&H clock
If use 5v to trigger the S&H clock, the sound is more subtle than pressing the 'Manual' button to trigger a gate signal

Some kind of logic "AND" situation with a clock pattern and a note event/trigger? Also can you not just mult the gate to the trigger with a splitter? Or does the trigger need to be of a smaller length (as the name implies)? Then I would need to convert the gate to a trigger somehow.... maybe there is something on the 2600 that can do this? Just a note for those like me who followed the directions but did not manage to make the gate work properly : Be CAREFUL to pull up the slider knobs EXACTLY as ralph is showing on the video, in the right side, ie : bring VCF(Audio) and AR(Cntrl) all the way UP (VCA section), and the VCA(Audio) slide UP as well (Mixer Section). (I scratched my head for about an hour before realizing I was bringing UP the VCF up but not the VCA, hence the gate trigger having absolutely no effect 😅)
I am still struggling to have the same setup now but with the ADSR section though - still getting weird behaviour. I guess I'll figure it out after sticking to it for some time (still rusted after a couple of years away from synthesis )

I have never used the sequencers you are talking about. Sometimes certain gear is just not compatible with the 2600 for no apparent reason. For instance the Microbrute Gate is 10V, enough for the 2600. Nevertheless it doesn't work. Some google research revealed that the Microbrute Gate doesn't trigger the envelopes of certain ADSR modules.

Hello Kriptek, please watch this video here too ruclips.net/video/MTf10H0KWDU/видео.html
That’s another way to make an external sequencer connection to the 2600. The 182 sequencer has a +5V Gate. Try both ways for the connection. The Behringer 2600 usually requires a +10V Gate, but depending on the 182 Trigger/Gate output it may work. If not then you need a Voltage Converter Module or you can also try to dabble with the 2600 Preamp to boost the signal. Thanks for the great and very helpful vids, Ralph. One question: how would one go about syncing the Sample & Hold (INT CLOCK) to the master Ableton clock? What would be the protocol? Must one send CV via say, a Beatstep, and send a pulse to the INT CLOCK? If so, how would that be done exactly? Any advice much appreciated!

    • @RalphBaumgartl

A Pulse external signal yields the best results. You have to plug it into the External Clock Input of the S&H. In this video here I was using the Sync Signal (it's a pulse) from the Korg Electribe to sync the S&H module of the 2600 Synth.

So, I use the plastic replicator and only one out from the ARPs MULT... and then to each OScillator... and works great. So I expect that the Keystep only works with the ARP when the trigger set to 12V, correct?

    • @RalphBaumgartl

When you connect a MIDI controller to the B2600 the Pitch is sent to the VCO's internally. When you connect a Keyboard or Sequencer to B2600 via CV and Gate, you have to plug the Pitch (CV) signal into KEYB CV slots of the VCO's. This will break the internal Pitch connection and replace it with the CV signal. Greetings, Ralph

My question was about that one, the manual not being very clear about it, what is the usage of that "other" KEYB CV? The receipt you show works perfectly, and needs to use the MULT to split the signal into the KEYB CV of each oscillator.
