You're going to like the ZJ. I currently have 3 ZJs, a WJ and a WK2. The long arms are a must off road. One ZJ has a 7.5 inch lift and Clayton long arms. It's running 37s on Ford Dana 44 front and a 9" in the rear. Great job with your ZJ. Look forward to seeing future mods.
@@VenturaIT I will be posting videos of the ZJ on RUclips DFerDirt In the coming days. It drove really bad when we first bought it. All the long arm bushings were shot, the tires were almost worn out and the rear end wandered a lot. We are in the process of rebuilding everything. Once finished, it should do well on the highway.
Looks good. A video on the install of a long arm kit would be greatly appreciated. Getting ready to upgrade a stock 94 ZJ 4.0 manual and could use any ideas. Keep up the good work
@@MountainRoadAdventure So far we love it it. It's pretty clean. No rust. It does have the death wobble and the security is weird. Still extremely happy. I'm glad you made this video.
I have a 96 Cherokee with a 4.5 RE super flex lift. Of all the lift kit i have ran over the last 30 years its the nicest riding lift. I rebuilt the axels TCase and the break system including the booster Running Yokohama 33s and steel wheels with a locker in the rear. 1250.00 for the jeep 5000.00 in parts 1350. 00 to have Inland truck install gears . Money well spent. Should get another 200k out of it
keep up or get ahead of the maintenance. like hoses and stuff that wears quickly because when you take it Offroad, those parts will wear even quicker and you don't want to break down on the trail. basically slowly go through everything and replace worn parts with either quality or oem parts (besides suspension and Offroad parts) keep the engine reliable and performing well and change all fluids just in case.
9 grand in a year is not budget brother... lol I bought a zj 4 days ago for 1500 bucks on offer up. same jeep as yours but a 96 w/ 164k. it needs some love for sure.. if these are not taken care of, they don't age well...
they can. honestly depends on how you drive them and what engine you get and certain modifications like tires and axles and weight. going 65 I can get a solid 16 MPG
I just picked up a 93 grand wagoneer/cherokee. 147xxx on it. Traded a 350 dollar car for it. I hope I did good. Its my first jeep and I'm stoked about it.

I definitely would like to get wider axles but that will be way in the future. that sounds like and awesome ZJ build!

Nice ZJ mate, I almost choked when I saw the words "on a budget" and then a picture of a ZJ on the thumb nail. lol.
This is so sick, would make the perfect overlanding Jeep
that is the goal. still getting it all set up!
Overlanding is gay. Rock crawling is better

since the kit is already on i cant make an install video but i can make a video on what the kit comes with and how it all goes together
The video content is so excellent, congratulations
Thank you
Dude that’s bad ass.. I had a 95 with the 4.0 riding on 31’s with no lift. Damn I miss that truck
that's a perfect build! did you need to do any trimming?
I literally just got my 1995 Grand Cherokee home. For $500 its pretty damn fancy. I can't wait to lift the thing.
sweet! I think youre gonna love it!

there's so many things that can cause death wobble but just start replacing everything on the front end. but thank you!
I have a 5.9 limited that is just like this, except it has a big cam and is straight piped
that's awesome! how do you like the 5.9?
Great looking ZJ I love mine, super capable for a good price. For the price its hard to build something as capable.
well said👍🏻
is really nice jeep man
Thank you!
I have 4.56 on 33's on my 97 ZJ with the 4.0 freeway speeds are 75 just over 2,000 rpms.
That's a pretty solid gear ratio for 33s and a 4.0
so touching for an excellent video
Good video to btw, not to many zj videos out there
Great looking Jeep man🤙 keep it up

Keith Lea Where did you find the lift. I also have a 96 Cherokee and am having trouble finding a 4.5 inch lift kit.
love the video. just bought an xj my self and am looking to do many similar mods
xjs are awesome! iron rock off-road and bds suspension have great long arm kits for those!

Not bad at all. Doesn't look bad without the bumper skins

Bilstein shocks

thank you very much!
I like the extra large cup holders for me because I'm always getting XL cups that dont fit my in my wifes Nissan Altima but fit in my ZJ 😁
they are super convenient
Looks really good but man that radiator seen better days
yes it has 😂 still works great though
Awesome video.
How did you plug in the speedometer plug, my zj has different wiring for the plug in my 231. Really no information about it online
I was able to swap it over from the 249 to the 231

Two thousand dollars
200,000 miles.
Any words of wisdom?

@@MountainRoadAdventure Roger that.
Thanks
Is the dana 44a stock for your jeep? If not, where did you get it?
it is stock. it came with the towing package I believe. they are a kind of rare from what I've heard
it had a np249 not 247 and the other t-case is a np242 not 241
wow I really did mess that up😂
Thanks for clarifying that, it's what I suspected he was intending to say
Yea, the NP242s get cracks on the AWD planetary gear post’s welds, then eventually “boom”.
I have a 96 zj.
nice! they are amazing jeeps!
I wouldn't classify long arm kits as budget oriented lol
All depending on what your budget is
How much inches does the spacers are?
1.5 inches
I wish i had your budget
Right haven't spent that much on it just 9k lmao wish I had 9k to throw around and fix my truck
Aussie locker on the rear? Does thr aluminium dif case can handle the locker? Every body tells me DONT!!!
I've had the locker in there for a year now and I've never had issues. I'm not too sure about the long run though
9k a year is a pretty big budget.
if you think about it, you don't have to do everything in one year, you can spread it out
Ever compared it to a new Jeep
@@fiveninegarage Ever compared it to a cheaply built zj or xj? staying on the cheap is like 4k or less.
Are they any reliable and how about the miles per gallon?
they are pretty reliable, especially the 4l engine. gas mileage varies but it's usually around 11 to 17mpg
I haven't had any problems out of mine so far. The person before me put 32s on mine and on average it gets around 13
i hope my 98 looks this good soon!
what do you have on yours right now?
i just have a steering stabilizer so far. i’ve been trying to get all the maintenance out of the way before i dig deeper bc it has 329k
no way! what motor?
@@MountainRoadAdventure 4.0! it actually a runs like a monster. i daily it right now until i find another one for a good price again.

Is it legal to have the bumpers off like that I jus got a 97 grand Cherokee and I want to do that but I’m not sure
it might be but I've never had any issues with it and it's boob like that for almost a year
whats the wheel offset
I believe it's zero then I have real spacers

What was the tablet and what did you mount it with?
galaxy tab a and I mounted it with a mount I found on amazon
lift 6? sorry no ingles
5.5 lift
@@MountainRoadAdventure The front axle you send a little forward? Do you know how many centimeters?
about 4 cm
I dont have much money in it just 9k in mods....lol....
throughout 1 year and how capable it is for the amount of money
That’s “only” about $25 a day or $345 every 2 weeks.
How 9k a low budget?
compared to 25k for a Wrangler build and what you are getting out of it
Tyler Dean yeah but 9k isnt cheap build i have a 98 zj i picked up for 400$ ran and drove, i have under 4k and more modified then yours.
what do you have done to it

jeep has the Cherokee (XJ) and the Grand Cherokee (ZJ). they are 2 different models
🤣🤣🤣🤣 9k
htownsfinest87 yeah not a budget build
budget doesn't mean cheap. you can have a $100k budget for something
$9000 is alot of money....
Lol he said budget 😂🤣 this is not a budget.
like I said the other people, a budget can be any number but it's way better and way more capable than spending 15K on a stock TJ or 45k on a stock jl
"showing you what you could do without a whole lot of money" "I spent 9 grand"....... ah what? 9 grand isnt a whole lot of money?....
