I appreciate the video. I am looking into the 2023 for a friend. I have a 2017 and wanted to make sure everything was the same. I have no idea how filling oil first then installing filter makes a difference. And if you add oil and use the sight glass to determine proper amount you will be off by the amount filling the filter. My bike holds 4.4 qts and thats what i put in. As for Oil I run off the shelf Automotive Mobil 1 15/50 and based on a lot of research I use the WalMart brand Super tech 10,000 mile oil filter ST 6607 This filter has been tested and proven to perform as well as any filter on the market at a staggering price of just under 4 dollars. I change Oil and FD every 5 k and never had an issue. PS I watched the Final drive video as well Thank you.
I assume you didn't replace the oil cap o ring? Mine seeped a little after first oil change so i tightened it, but it still seeps a tiny bit. I've seen others report the same.
Are you running the TuneECU software on an Android tablet? I wonder what the difference is between having the bike upright as compared to on the center stand. Makes checking the oil a two-person job.
On an android phone not a tablet. I agree its a pain to do it off the stand. What I did was slightly lean it against a wall (handle bar just touching a wall then get down a check the oil level.
You apparently didn't warm up the bike much before the change. I like to bring them up to Operating temperature and drop the oil while it's still quite warm. I let it drain for a long time to cool down before putting the cold oil in.
Great work Mike. It’s a shame we have to leave the oil filter off until after refilling the oil. Mine makes quite a mess 🙄😂
Is that a online version of service manual? Where to get it?

Hi Mike.. I'm just about to buy the same bike (in Australia).. Is the service manual readily available online..??
Scrap that - I've just found it..!! 😜
Did Tune ECU work for you on resetting the service indicator, I have tried everything and I get an error every time.
Yes it does work. I reset mine at the 10k service.
@MikesGarage409 what obd reader are you using maybe mine is not supported

Great point!
