When I was 8 years old, there was this boy in my class. He was quite rowdy and rude, loud even. But I remember that one English class where my teacher asked him to "teach" me that 'breakfast' is written the way that it is and not 'breadfirst'. With everyone bustling at their tables, talking about what time lunch was and what not, he lead me to the windowsill where the sunlight barely graced the classroom. And very slowly explained what the word meant and why it was spelt that way. He went on to become quite a trouble kid. But in that moment, standing beside him, slightly peeking over at the 10 out of 10 neatly written in the corner of his spelling test was something that I can never forget.
Oh this is such a sweet and precious memory. It's always the trouble kids that surprise you in the most amazing ways. Thank you for sharing, this really brought a smile to my face :)
He was an intensely smart person full of questions and pondered deeper things. I get it. God bless you both. 😢🧏🏻♀️🇨🇦 Restless people tend to feel overwhelmed. I know, I am this way. He probably had a very busy mind. Frustrated by life and the inequalities. May the God of peace have found him to quiet his spirit. 😊
...suffers?😊
Seems like some form of autism to me. Or maybe ADHD.

When I was 7 years old, while waiting for the school bus, I picked wildflowers to bring home to my mother. I ran out of time, and had to board the bus, intending to give them to her after school. my teacher saw them, exclaimed how nice of me to bring her flowers, snatched them out of my hands, and walked away. I was horrified, I knew I couldn't say they weren't for her. I felt bad, knowing if I were a bit fonder of her, I'd be happy to give them to her. I never told my mother, knowing she'd be disappointed in my ungenerous feelings. but as an adult, I bring her flowers often, knowing she appreciates them. Thank you for a lovely video, you do a wonderful job.
Ohh that is such a sweet story. You're such a kind soul! Thank you for blessing those around you with flowers. Despite the ungenerous feelings, it was very generous of you to let your teacher have the flowers anyway 💕
Aww! You sound like you were and still are a sweet person.
❤❤❤😊
You’re a kind soul. 🌱
That teacher was a bit rude. She shouldn’t have assumed.
Your mom must be amazing if even as a 7 year old you put aside your own feelings and let the teacher have the flowers. I know so many kids that would have just gone. ‘Those are for my mom!” And embarrassed the teacher. Which, honestly she shouldn’t have assumed and taken them but you were truly generous in that moment. Just the fact that you knew your mother would have wanted you to be happy to give them says a lot about her and you as a person. It’s lovely to hear how you still bring your mom flowers just because she likes them. All in all a great story. 😊
this made me cry. i ache so deeply for the collector. i hope he once again finds the ability to be as free as the moss.
Ah, this is so sweet. May we all be as free as moss one day :)
The narration is so full of poetry, a joy to read, really enhances the experience of watching the assembly of this piece... really wonderful
Thank you!!
I’m not really sure why this video made me cry but it was so beautiful. The way you tell stories is so magical and I found myself thinking a lot about the collector on his search for his something. Maybe a collector will always resonate with a collector but I hope whatever he’s looking for is the thing he needs in his collection and in his soul
Glad you enjoyed it! I thought very hard about the stories in this video so it makes me really happy that you liked them :)
Only a collector can understand a collector..wonderful vid, I love it..
Thank you! ❤️🦋✨
Not true. 😢 I enjoy this because I can not do it but enjoy the process and the ability. I can not afford the items. I have health issues that make my hands, grasp awkward at best at worst I cannot clutch a thing. Not poor me, just fyi. 😊I drop all the time anything, spill my drinks, fumble with buttons. My hands numb or weak. It sucks because I am creative. 😢🇨🇦🧏🏻♀️🥴🤗🌻
I am a collector. You have put into words what a collector is, and captured the scene of what a collector longs for most in the most elegant way I have ever seen.
Hats off and we'll done. Truly beautiful!
Thank you kindly! It's such a specific mentality ❤️🦋✨
When i was 6 i remember running around with my sister, wearing sun hats and sandals, in a big grove with a little creek and tall redwood trees next to it. Making flower crowns and playing swords, we would make fruit and flower offerings to the fey at a little moss covered round bridge with flower braids hanging off of it, and little clay pinch pots drying on its rail. The memories from that grove are precious to me and could only be truly described by a ghibli movie i feel.
Oh my gosh I would do that too!! The clay pinch pots.. the flower offerings... I hope those garden fairies appreciated them 🌿💕✨
as a child, my best friend and i were obsessed with foraging and eating plants that grew in the wild. there was one plant in particular that was a tiny little clover type with leaves shaped like hearts. it was so small it didn’t satisfy our hunger in the least, and the payoff of the lemony flavor was incredibly mild, but we would spend hours crawling along in the grass searching for our little green treasure, pretending that we were surviving off the land.
i haven’t thought of that plant in so long, but the stories and pieces of poetry you shared in this reminded me. i think this spring, i’ll get in the dirt again and see if i can find it.
this video is so beautifully put together with every detail and quote and snippet of world building, thank you for sharing it!
Ohh that is the sweetest little story!! Surviving off the land is the best childhood game, thank you for reminding me of that :) Here's to spending more time in the dirt!
The plant you described makes me think of wood sorrel, I also have memories of eating it as a child 😊
the plant you're reffering to is an oxalis, some call them "false shamrock". When their seed pods are ripe, you can gently press them between your fingers and it makes the seeds pop off.
Those used to grow in my grandma's garden. My mom showed me they were edible, and we used to pick the thickest stems so the sourness was more intense. My grandma doesn't have a garden anymore, I move to a different city, but sometimes I still find the little yellow flowers growing near my house, and think of the loving memories I made so long ago.
wood sorrel
my mom would eat it with me as a kid
Not only am I amazed by your skill and attention to detail, I absolutely adore your story-telling. Both your own personal stories, and the tales you weave for your builds are so charming and thoughtful. Your written word is also truly an art! I love it.
Thank you so much!! It took a long long time to write out the subtitles so it makes me really happy to hear that 💕
When I was a small child, I think around the ages 4 to 7? We would visit my great Grandmother each week - I was bored often (phones were a thing but kids weren't expected to have them) and my brother and I would go play in her garden because honestly it was amazing. She had a apple tree we would pick from and mum would make delicious apple crumbles, and a pond at the bottom that was always abundance in frogs. We would climb the apple tree, and run up and down the small hill that led to the pond. It was so beautiful, and I think one of my last memories of it was Grandad sitting on the bench overlooking it all. It can't have always been so bright and sunny, as it is England after all, but I can't seem to remember a single rainy day. Thank you for asking and helping me remember, such lovely video.
Aww that is such a sweet and precious memory, thank you for sharing!! It must have been always bright and sunny in your memory because it was such a happy place with the frogs in their pond and the apple tree on the hill 🐸🍎🏃🏻
@@mminmakes I vaguely remember reading somewhere that childhood memories filled with sunshine means it was likely a happy one - I was indeed extremely lucky. Much love and luck to you, m'dear!
@@furiscafynn6275 Thank you kindly!! Have a lovely day 🥰
sounds like a beautiful time and memory. Gardens are awesome
You forgot the lamps. After all, a collector will work late into the night ... Simply magnificent. I enjoyed every minute of this lovely tale.
Aughhhh you're right. I started putting lights into my next build and it makes so much difference! 🌟🌟🌟
Utterly spellbinding, eloquent, thoughtful... If I had seen this film exhibited in an art gallery or museum I would remember it’s reach. It’s an artwork from start to finish. Thank you.
Thank you so much, this really brought a smile to my face ❤️📚✨
A quiet, gentle and dedicated space, with no details lacking - your Collector is HOME!
Thank you so much!!
This video strangely reminds me of a person from years ago. I used to know a boy, we’ll call him Edgar, who everyone said was an awful troublemaker. I was a timid rule follower of a little kid. I don’t know why me and him clicked so well, but we did. He often got in trouble for picking fights with the other kids or being snarky with the teacher. He was also quite blunt-he made a few kids cry. I think, though, that he was just a kid, not a troublemaker. He was just trying. I remember that I confessed to him once that I didn’t know how to shuffle a deck of cards. He scoffed in disdain, pulled out some cards, and spent his lunch teaching me how to do it. I still remember a lot about him-how he was always ready to say a snide remark, then apologize if he realized it had made me upset. How he was talented on the piano and playing tennis but hated them both. How he was often staying late after school because he didn’t want to come back to his empty house. How his locker was always filled with papers, some of them drawings I had given to him. How he used to argue with the other students, but would sit quietly as I drew butterflies and fairies on his notebook. He didn’t know how to say “thank you”, but he showed it by sharpening my pencils when I wasn’t looking. I remember a lot of things about Edgar, but I don’t remember what happened to him. All I remember is seeing his tired face once before graduation, and that’s it. I don’t remember how to shuffle cards, either. I worry about him, sometimes. About where he is now. But I hope that Edgar gets to see the butterflies he saw me draw in the classroom all those years ago, no matter what has become of him. I think that’s what this video and piece reminds me of-like butterflies, we meet people in a swarm of pretty colors, and watch them flutter away just as quickly. It’s silly of me to miss the people I don’t know anymore, but that’s just how it is. I miss Edgar. I don’t know him anymore. But I hope he’s doing well.
Ohhhh what long sweet memory. People really do just show up and touch our lives deeply and then disappear again, leaving only the memories... It's really sweet that he kept those drawings in his locker, and who knows, maybe he does remember and think of you once in a while too! Thank you for sharing such a lovely story ^_^
Its a shame we loose contact with people we knew as kids.
Thank you very much. Rarely do I slow down a video to make it last longer but yours is such a one. A face that would like the mud is someone, I think, who finds joy in life whatever the circumstance. What a blessing. The variety of Draba in our back yard is deliciously fragrant and edible.
I didn't know Draba was edible! Thank you for that wonderful little fact 💕 Thanks also for taking the time to watch this video slowly. Your support means so much to me!
Hi!! I'm back after 6 months of hard work filming and editing this room box build 😂😂😂 Took WAY longer than I expected-do y'all have projects that just take forever to finish?? How do you get the motivation to keep working on them?
Oh yes, I have been working on a 1:18th scale medieval/fantasy scene and it keeps growing and growing, I'm at the point where I'm going to split it into 2 or 3 separate, but part of the same theme, scenes as its taking over my life in a not so pretty way. I need to separate or soon my cat and I won't be able to get out of our room!
May I ask what the name of the kit you customized was? I would love to do something similar.
@@Suebee1988 The link to the kit is in the video description! It's from a chinese artist on taobao :)
I'm sorry cannot find the link
I love playing around so much as a kid that I often fell and scraped my legs on the cemented roadside. Many times this left a huge, ugly wounds on my legs and for some reason, I like it. They remind me of rough and raw nature of my youth, that I often lovingly looking back on. Because now as an adult, I have no time to go out and enjoy going outside to play with my friends. Obviously, my legs are more smooth than ever now but how I wish I could go back to that reckless time of my childhood where everything else is non-existent!
This video evokes that nostalgic feelings and kudos to you!
Oh! I know what you mean, I haven't fallen down and scraped my knees in years and years. Somehow when we were young, falling down wasn't scary at all...
As a child with not too many recourses I had to learn to entertain myself to keep me from dying of boredom, I received one Christmas a small doll, maybe 3 inches tall that came with a couple sets of clothing and a few random items like a hairbrush, a cup and a plate, all so small of course to be use by the doll. I immediately though that I needed a home for this doll, so I decided to make it one. I gather cardboard, cloth, paper and little pieces of wood along with a couple shoe boxes. I worked and worked on it until I had a little house, two floors house, with windows and a shower and all the things a home should have. I was so proud of the results; I wish I had taken a picture of it to look at it from time to time. Later on, I made a few more, even a mud house, it was beautiful or so I thought. Since then, I have loved miniature anything, this video brought all those memories back to me, of course my houses were not even close as accurate and beautiful as this cottage but as a child I thought so. Thank you for such a beautiful work!
Oh my goodness that is so cute!! I used to make my dolls clothes out of tissue paper and houses out of cardboard too. I'm glad you remembered something happy from your childhood while watching! The little creations we made as children were always the most perfect and beautiful 💕💕💕
I love videos like this and I love people like this. People who can fall in love with everything around them, with the whole world. It really is beautiful.
Me too! Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🥰
this is the very first vid since 2009 that i watched entirely in 0.5 speed. i did not want to miss one single second. i also now feel as if my entire life has been encapsulated in your story. How did you Know!? i cried and i laughed and i love your work. You are truly an intuitive artist. thank you ☺️
Thank you, your comment is so sweet and beautiful. I was afraid the video was too long...comments like this make me feel really reassured that there are people like you who appreciate them ❤️ I'm so happy that the story resonanted with you. I'vr been smiling every since I read your comment!! ❤️🦋✨
@@mminmakes now im all teary and smiley 😉
i am really looking forward to having the time to sit and watch your others and i do not one single distraction. Thank You for doing what you do it is bringing great joy.
I like to think that what he's really looking for is happiness, but he doesn't realize it. He had it at some point, but he can't quite remember when, so now he obsesseses over it. He keeps everything he knows once brought him joy, like butterflies and maps, and note books, but they never bring the same feelings that he's been missing.
This is such a sad sweet take. That joy of being in love in something for the first time, maybe he's looking for it again! 💕
I'm a collector, I think we search for the excitement of a new find. That can translate to happiness, it's a type of joy I guess. But it's always fleeting. I still haven't found happiness, even though I am grateful for the lucky life I have. The mind is a mess, it's difficult and takes much skill to organise it.
I came straight from your latest video, the beautiful library, to watch this, you are a wonderful addition to the miniature community and I can't wait for whatever you do next❤ Your thoughts, in captions, are beautiful, like the piano music, the whole video, or videos, are works of art, as every aspect is really whimsical and lovely. I am so happy to have found you and your wonderful channel 😊 I am on the Autism spectrum and as a child, even now (and I am 65 years old lol) I am happy in mud, I was very unsure of other people and gravitated towards animals and still do, I am one of those people who rescues Bees with sugar water and pigeons who have string on their feet, and yes, I am very happy when muddy, with my horses or dogs at home in Scotland. I am also happy in mud here in London, feeding and caring for the feral cats and foxes around me, I am sure if theres something about you that suggests happiness in mud, I would value you as a friend because in my opinion it makes you very special and, despite your beautiful words in your videos, you have a "down to earth" aspect that probably makes you such a deep thinking and warm person ❤ Like the person who searches for spring, knees in the mud and finds the Draba plants, thats you and I, happy and muddy and optimistic ❤
Just want you to know that your comment lives rent free in my head, I've been thinking about it all weekend. It means the world to me that you notice the captions and music too!! You are such a lovely soul and your home(s) sound wonderful,, thank you for taking care of all these animals and and for taking the time to leave such a beautiful comment!! I want to have "happy and muddy and optimistic" written really big on my wall 💕💕💕
@@mminmakesplease let it stay there just like the story of the collector will now be in my head. you are a wonderful writer and your dioramas are a treasure to see
This got me quite emotional. I love miniatures, I love seeing this creative process but the storytelling was beautiful. I'm rooting for The Collector but I feel sad for him also.
Thank you! Having a story to go along with the process made it more enjoyable for me too :)
I too came straight from your library build. I never want your beautiful videos to end!🥰
Thank you so much for jumping here and for leaving a comment on both videos!! 💕

Aww that's such a sweet interpretation. Thank you!! ❤️
Watching ur vid at 4 am after my kitten woke me up; reminiscing on the memories back in high school how i loved making miniature rooms ; i found your video so calming watching every steps till it was done.
Awww I'm glad it was calming. Sending love to you and your little kitten! 💕
As a natural historian myself, I love this. I want the kit, but not enough to learn to navigate Yaobao.
It's the highest compliment if a natural historian like you loves this!
I last picked up saga seeds in Primary school, almost 30 years ago. Aside from saga seeds we would prowl for fallen flower buds and peel them like tangerines looking for tiny green caterpillars. It makes me feel like visiting my alma mater just to see if that old tree still stands. Thank you for putting so much thought and insight into your builds. ❤
Oh my gosh yes, those flowers with caterpillars/ants inside!! They always shock me but I still want to see... Thank you for reminding me 💖
It is said that Imagination is more powerful than knowledge...you take that saying to a whole new level! What you created is brilliant and beautiful ❤I love your channel!
Thank you so much! I love imagining stories and building these little rooms ❤️
As a butterfly collector, this warms my heart and was such an honour to watch. Thank you ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Little story, when I was younger Ive always been fond of miniature things, be it furniture or appliances, the ones that can open and close the better, So my parents gifted me a dollhouse, it was not the ordinary dollhouse you'd see it was the kind that you do in this video, They never let me assemble the house cause I was too young at the time but made my neighbour do it instead.
When I saw the complete outcome I was amaze, it was the perfect dollhouse Ive ever seen (at the time, My little self is easily impressed) tiny people with tiny lights and tiny tables and kitchen, I couldve done it differently I think, I really really wish I couldve done it myself how it would be like
Fast forward to now, I later realized a lot of people do handmade miniatures too or just collect, I wanst alone and my inner child was beyond happy, seeing this was nothing but satisfying, I thought to myself maybe this how it felt by my neighbour building my dollhouse. Intricate details, the craftmanship, It all so satisfies me.
I am not too old to buy my own miniature set yet, but I promise myself in the future I would do the same thing like you did here in this video, so yeah! A new subscriber here, I use this video as asmr aswell cause its calming. That is all ❤
What a sweet story, it sounds like that tiny dollhouse was amazing! And there will always be time in life to make one for yourself, and do it just how you like 💕 Go for it! Thank you for sharing and I hope one day you have your own perfect miniature dollhouse just the way you like 💕💕💕
And how generous you are to show everybody how you do it.😂 Okay, there is something more as only knowing how to do it. The patience is the main point of beeing capable to do it.🥰🥰
The Saga Seed reminds me of what we local kids before called 'Black Hearts'. They are black peas with a perfect heart shape at the center and students would often forage those to give them to their crushes. I had forgotten about that already and got reminded because of what you mentioned. An almost forgotten memory from my childhood was awakened.
Aww that's such a cute story. I love all these little childhood tales!! ❤️
I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a video so much. The storytelling was amazing, and powerful, and poignant. Thank you!
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed!
This video reminded me of an artist, Christopher Marley, who makes art out of bugs and butterflies. Seeing your dedication to accurately sizing the butterflies and naming them correctly made me think about this artist. Seeing your attention to detail on the butterflies made me really happy.
Thank you so much! I looked him up and his artwork is absolutely fantastic 💕 Accurately sizing the butterflies took so long but was so worth it in the end!
I’ve been struggling with writer’s block for some time, and your video really honestly helped me! I like reading your thoughts while you’re working, and hearing your stories. That, and the quotes you used every so often. They really spoke to my heart. Thank you for posting this video! I hope someday the collector finds what he’s looking for.

Writer's Block
Sometimes I think writing the subtitles is more difficult than making the entire miniature 😂 All the best with your writing 💕
i chose this video to fall asleep, to drift off while watching something relaxing. I ended up being completely charmed by this beautiful story and your attention to every little detail, this was more than a video to me. it was an experience, it let me feel past emotions i forgot. so many memories came back. thank you.
Aww thank you! I hope they were good memories :)
And I think you'd be happy in the mud too! Everything you've written leads me to believe that!
I came across your channel, and the moment I saw it, I was completely fascinated. The comfort of the video and the hand-creating you are precious.
Welcome aboard! I'm happy to hear you were fascinated 💕
I enjoy how thorough you were with the butterfly specimens.
It was so much work but worth it! 🦋
Min Makes…thank you, so much, for sharing your talent. You did a fantastic job!
You’ve inspired me to make the same…I’ll be ordering the whole kit from your patron.
Though I don’t collect real Butterflies, I have hundreds of ornamental ones. Once, in my first attempt at decoupage, I cut out about 500 from a Butterfly identification book, pasted them to a huge trunk and varnished them…got up, the following morning, to find most had buckled.
Took the trunk to the sandblasters and also had it powder-coated, bought the same book again, cut out another 500 and stuck them down properly before varnishing.
So, doing your miniature will be my pièce de résistance.
Thanks again. Keep up your incredible work. 😊
Aww thank you! The kit for this was one I purchased from Taobao, the link is in the video description. The butterflies from this build are available on Patreon though :)
You worked so hard on that decoupage trunk, I can only imagine how much effort it was to cut out another 500 butterflies!! You are so patient and I'm sure the final result was worth it. Thank you again for your comment, if you do end up using the miniature butterflies in a project I'd love to see it ^_^
Thank you Min Makes.
I will buy the kit from Taobao, indeed.
I forgot to mention that I have nearly a hundred Butterfly tattoos. 😄
And just sent some pics to a friend, who gave me seeds of the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly Vine…to show her the five successful one are four metres tall now.
Hope they attract some Butterflies.
@@Ravenmad2000 Oh my goodness, a hundred butterfly tattoos? You're a butterfly lover for sure 🦋💕And good at growing plants too! I never knew there was a specific plant like that, it'd be amazing if the birdwings showed up!
I'm utterly in love with the way you tell a tale. It evokes such intense and yet cozy feelings; they feel safe and warm. And your humour and meme references crack me up so hard.
Genuinely,, you're one of a kind.
Awww thank youu 💕💕💕 Re-watching these videos makes me feel warm and cozy too. I miss the memes, I need to start gathering some for my next video 🤭
A few years ago when I was around 6-7 I remember I went to visit my grandparents at their little countryside village home. I always loved the ride there, the view the scents it was all so mesmerising. I was obsessed with watching the sun set as we were driving there because the light hit the surrounding trees perfectly.
When we went there was a little market where I bought an adorable little puppy keychain with blue and clear crystals.
I went to show my grandad who was in the back garden at the time, gazing at the sky on a little swinging chair alone in silence. I sat next to him and there was a slight breeze you could hear swimming through the trees branches.
He didn’t say anything when I sat next to him, only that life is precious and i should make the most of it because before you know it all of the greatest moments will fly by and be gone in an instant. We should cherish the present and the people we get to spend it with because it will only happen once.
I’ll always remember that moment because it was when he made me realize just how lucky I was to lead my life.
ahh my heart, what a sweet story! The little village with a beautiful sunset, and that precious moment with your grandpa on the swing... I'm sure you must have treasured that adorable keychain and those wise words 💕💕💕
this video reminds me of an old friend who i wrote letters to when i was younger. she loved to quote her favorite authors and old literature and poetry. it was silly how we sent each other letters when we saw one another at school each day, and now that we're miles apart, we've lost that form of communication. i should write to her again. thank you for the beautiful stories.
That is so sweet! I used to do that with my friends too, but it's probably been a decade since I've written to them.. thanks for the reminder of those old beautiful habits 💕
Hi! Real-life entomologist here. Amazing work on this!! I want to live here...
I was delighted that you didn't settle for pretty butterflies in a frame, but cared to label them and learn about them :)
I think the story of the Collector, secretly looking for fairies in insects, is beautiful and lonely.
I'm surprised so much of the woodwork is from a kit!
It took me a long time to find a kit with so much wood in it! Thank you for the kind words, it's such high praise when an actual entomologist appreciates my efforts 💕 I loved learning about the butterflies so it means a lot to me that you liked it too 🦋🦋🦋
For a small channel this is amazing quality! Nice build!
Thanks a ton!
You have a beautiful soul. Thank you for this video!
Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️🦋✨
This was so relaxing and calming to watch! I wasn't expecting this to be so soothing. From the story to the music to the beautiful art. Wow!
Thank you so much! I'm glad it soothed you 💙🌊🌧️
This is absolutely remarkable… I don’t really have words, I just love this so much: the story, the craftsmanship and the delicate nature of this craft. Immensely relaxing 😌
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the love 💕💕💕
I just found this channel through this video, just wanting something to watch for comfort before a nap, and ended up crying several times. The way you meticulously scaled each and every butterfly with their names is absolutely incredible; I thought the original ones were cool enough, but going through all of that effort? Insane. You seem like an incredible person. I've made only two miniature rooms entirely out of glue and paper during highschool; a music room, and an apartment. This inspires me to return to those, maybe remake my first one better than I did, and reminisce peacefully. This was therapeutic. Genuinely, thank you.
Also, maybe I should use something that lasts longer than paper...
Thank you 💖 I'd love to make a mini music room someday! You should look at the things you made back in high school, they might inspire you to make something new ✨☀️🧡 Paper is ok for props and things in the room, but for the walls something like cardboard, plywood, or MDF would definitely be stronger. Happy crafting!! 💖
@@mminmakes Thank you so much! I will most definitely be making more, after watching these, likely with better materials. This has actually pulled me out of a rut of not being able to create anything, and for that I am incredibly thankful ^^
At 3:44, I always refer to these as core memories. The ones that you can smell, feel, and hear. You remember every detail of that memory, and you close your eyes and smile. Because it will forever be yours and yours alone. 🥰 Also, I had to watch the video twice because I was conflicted. I wanted so badly to watch your process of creating this, but I also wanted to read your story at the bottom as well and could not do both at one time lol
You are right, those core memories are so precious 💖 Thank you for watching the video twice to give the story a chance! 🤭⭐
Unbelievably beautiful finite detailed work. I wanted to shrink myself down so I could spend the day exploring there.
Aww that is the sweetest compliment. Thank you!! ✨✨✨
You have such a beautiful personality, people can tell by the way you talk and tell stories, it's very mesmerizing
Thank you! 😊💖 You made my day!!!
2:29 I understood that reference!
7:46 😂😂😂
12:06 I've wanted a collector's cabinet since I read Pippi Longstocking ❤
Hehehe thank you for the cute timestamps ❤️ I love pippi longstocking too!!!
I was so invested in all the things they were saying in the subtitles that I almost forgot about the video itself, I swear I was watching every word in my mind
Aww that is so sweet, thank you for the love 💕 I have a lot of fun writing the subtitles so it makes me happy that you enjoyed them!
This is one of the most beautiful, thoughtful and inspiring videos I have watched in a really long time. Thank you for sharing your passion and your creativity with the world.
Thank you so much, comments like these make all the time and effort worth it 💕
i got overwhelmed halfway through the video so i'll watch another half some other time BUT. THIS IS SO GORGEOUS. so stunning! your delicate work and the story, every little sound and breath you make uwaaaa ❤ it's like watching a film!
Awwhh thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on your way! It makes me happy to know you'll come back to finish watching 💕
Sitting here entranced with your artistry and the calm vibes... only to bust out laughing at the "is this insanity?" and "it's free weathering" memes. Just incredible all around. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Honestly the memes kept me sane. Thanks for the love 💕💕💕
Gosh everyone is so thoughtful in the comments here, I just wanted you to know that your sense of humor killed me and earned my subscription today ❤
Hahahaha thank you!! I looove reading the comments and I'm glad the video made you laugh 💕💕💕
This channel helped me today. I was having a week where I didnt actually speak to anyone till late Wednesday when my daughter came home eith a chocolate cake. She told me they were free from work I made espressos with soy foam. Had a piece a dark, rich cake so moist I was shocked it was old. Anyways after she went out again. I was worried if we kept missing each other before bed I would not have spoken to anyone again for 3days.( I forgot the furnace people called.) But I planned to paint today as I mixed up new colours the other day. I'm having sharp chest pains from heartburn gerd whatever. So I was watching your video j clicked when i saw the butterflies. I love the idea of recreating butterflies rather than collecting the real ones. As they are so small, fragile and add beauty to the world.i like how your video and the music made me calm down, feel less scared about all the things I cannot control. Its hard. I sometimes get so nervous i cant even paint. So I did some pilates. It wont help with free cakes coming home!!😂 your work is so well done. Watching every step of it is a pleasure more even than the finished result!! ❤❤❤ subscribed!
Oh my gosh I am sending you so much love 💕💕💕 I have lots of days where I don't talk to anyone too, or days where I'm so anxious I can't even sit down and work on my miniatures! Chocolate cake and soy foam expresso sound wonderful, and the pilates must have felt so good too.. you're reminding me to give myself a little treat, and to take care of my body. Thank you for the love 💖💖💖
Getting ready for bed when I stumble across this. I was captivated by the collector and your wonderful way with words, so beautiful. I want to be able to do this someday.
Aww thank you!! 💕💕💕 Go for it, you never know how much you'll enjoy making miniatures!
OMG! This is so wonderful. I used to build rooms for Monster High dolls in 1:6 scale and I loved the woods, the creativity one is allowed to live. Now I am painting table top minis with special glasses on because they are sooo tiny. But to see what you are doing lets my heart beat faster!!! Mini and woodlike. Living in another world for all these hours we invest. I wish I knew how to get the basic set to construct that! I live in Germany and things like that are not so easy to find in an acceptable quality. Thank you very much for your inspiration!! You just saved my day!!!
Aww thank you for your comment! Your minis must be tiny!! I do love mini and woodlike things... I'm actually envious of all the beautiful dollhouses and wood furniture available in Europe!! There's a really good supplier in Germany called Mini Mundus, I'd love to buy some things from them one day! www.minimundus.de/en/furniture-store/miniatures
Your building and storytelling abilities are incredible, I felt so immersed and captivated by the stories about who this Collector is and acts like. The care in the details, everything looks gorgeous, you have a great great talent.
I hope the Collector finds what he's been looking for soon so he can write in that big blank journal, of all the beautiful bright creatures that hopefully he's found a friend in, so that he's not alone anymore and can finally admire nature around him with new eyes.
Thank you so much! This was such a sweet kind comment, it's the first one that really made me think the collector has a bright future ahead of him 🥰
@@mminmakes You're welcome! That makes me really happy :D 🥰 I'll be waiting if the Collector ever comes back with new adventures, or new characters present themselves and their lovely places
Watching your creation come to life is awesome. Looking forward to seeing more of your mini worlds.
Thanks so much! Working on the next one already 💖
I remember my last day at Highschool, how I ran everywhere in the empty corridors. Then my mom came and picked me up, I realize that I'd never go bck there again - I was boarding, I cried on my first day but I cried as well on my last day, and even more. Thanks for having me revisit those memories
Ohhh, saying goodbye to a place forever always hits hard. I'm glad you have good memories to revisit!
Это великолепно! Excellent!! Потрясающая миниатюра, чудесные материалы, глубокое понимание и чувство вкуса автора. Мне очень приятно познакомиться! ❤
Мне тоже очень приятно познакомиться! Спасибо за просмотр и комментарий 💕💕💕
That was beautiful. Both your miniatures and the story you wove. You are a talented artist and a wonderful writer.
Thank you so much 💕💕💕
I've never come across a video like this... such detail, care, thought, and love. I instantly fell in love with your style and personality! I love your thoughts through words. I felt myself tearing up multiple times. Looking forward to your next video. Thank you!
Thank you so much (❁´◡`❁) I have so many tender feelings to express, it makes me so very happy when people feel them too 💕
the remark has probably been made so many times by now, but wood is so wonderful. as it comes to you in this kit, right from the package- unfinished- it's still gorgeous to look at. with every step of the process it gets better, yet it can still be admired for its beauty at any given moment. perhaps even admired in different ways, by different people with different ideas of beauty. that's incredible.
Yes!!! I love wood in a all its forms, it's definitely something I'm going to keep working with 😊
It's really cool to know that you watch Studson Studios' stuff!! You two are two of my favourite miniature creators :)
Awww thank you! Studson is sooo creative and funny :> Thanks for watching and commenting on this and the other video as well, always makes my day when people hop from one video to another
@@mminmakes you make excellent content, it makes me want to watch more! i will be sure to comment more often :)
Howl's room is full of things. There are many things but they still shine. Someone dusts those things. They dont look broken. They are taken care of.
You're right... One day I'd love to build his room 😉
One of the most satisfying things I've watched in a really long time! The silent process with subtitled commentary is GENIUS! ❤NEW SUB
Glad you enjoyed it! I wondered if a voiceover would be better but I prefer the silent process with subtitles too 😉

Thank you all for the lovely stories in the comments!

your commentary is both really funny and cute, and extremely poetic and profound.
i just moved into a new house, in the woods, in the middle of spring, and it's been good but very scary and difficult, too. it's been hard to adjust, but a lot of what you said resonated with me very deeply. i want to live my life finding joy in useless little things. i want to feel more connected to myself through those things and experiences.
so, thank you for the lovely introspection this bright spring morning ♥
also, this is one of the most beautiful builds i've ever seen, with the most beautiful story to go with it. i was enthralled the whole time...!
ahh i wish you all the best in your new house, in the middle of the woods in spring!! sounds so lovely. thank you for watching and commenting, i'm glad it brough you some joy!
Your artwork is so lovely and has such a thoughtfulness to it. Down to the smallest details ❤
Thank you so much 😀
that studson reference!!!! also I adore that you thought to make the outside of the windows more worn. what attention to detail.
Studson is amazing ✨ It's fun doing all these details!
Loved EVERY minute AND detail of this collector’s room!! To make actual drawers with realistic specimens was absolutely stunning, as was all the minutia details. It was such a calming experience to watch you build his room, thank you for showing us through this video💗
Thank you for watching and commenting! Filling the drawers was something I wanted to do from the start, there's just something magical about seeing them all full 💕
This was so beautiful, satisfying and like a documentary but the commentary transformed it into wistful poetry… please keep making these
Thank you! Already working on the next one :)
I remember once making a little house out of moss for my favorite doll. It was really just a pile of moss shaped like a cave, but I remember thinking it was the most beautiful little house, and exactly what I would want when I grew up. I still think of that from time to time. I wish my whole house could be lit up the same way as sun shines through leaves and moss
Ahhh me too! It would be so wonderful to live in a house made of moss, and to wake up to the sun shining through all that green 🌱🌱🌱☀️☀️☀️
This was such a calming, inspiring video to watch. Thank you for that.
I consider myself a keeper of memories.
I'm so glad! I'm sure you must have many precious and wonderful memories 💖💖💖
OMG... such a beautiful video 💞💞💞💞 ... so perfectly combined with this music and the stories .... thank you so very much for this amazing artwork 💞💞💞💞
Thank you so much! It makes me really happy when people like the stories :)
The importance of keeping our hands busy ❤
Busy hands, quiet mind. You're so right! Thank you 💖

Absolutely beautiful. I'm in awe of your creativity!
Thank you so much!
Howdy, this showed up in my feed and I'm glad it did. The transformation of the base is brilliant and your room is stunning. lovelovelove Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed!
You absolutely nailed the butterfly nets! Exactly right!
Thanks for the validation!!
The narration for the collector reminds me of a few years ago when I was working at a retail place and we got a lot of overseas shipments I would have to unload and price. Sometimes I'd find newspapers from other countries used as packing materials for pottery, or cardboard for brands that didn't exist in my area, or little throwaway trinkets/cards that would just wind up in the shipment. I would make a little pile of them and take them home with me, they were packing waste anyway so my work didn't care, they'd just throw them out otherwise. As someone from a city with nothing to do, suffocatingly stagnant, I obsessed over those pieces of trash because it was all I had at the time for tangibly feeling something different. I see someone longing for change, wishing they had the resources to actually do something, stuck in a dead-end job in a rotting town like a bird in a cage. I hope the collector escapes their cage.
Ohh that is such a sweet thing to do. I love looking at little scraps of foreign newspapers and random packaging too! It's wonderful that it gave you the feeling of something different, like a glimpse of the world beyond the cage 🦋🦋🦋
This is absolutely INCREDIBLE! The level of detail that you put into every single object is MAGNIFICENT and MAGICAL! You have taken miniatures to a whole new level!! I am so glad that your video came up! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work. I really enjoyed every minute!❤💥🏆🙏
Thank you so much 😊 It took so long to finish this, it makes me really happy that you enjoyed it too!
I can't even imagine how many different skills you got to make this little wonders.😂🥰
My favourite part is being able to finally use all my side hobbies in one big project 🤭💕
I loved this video, especially your commentary. When you described how you put your hands through the bars of the chair as a child and pretended you were a hungry prisoner, it reminded me of a memory from my childhood. Sometimes I didn't really like the food I had to eat, but I would pack it into a little container and then pretend I was living out in the wild (in reality I was hiding under furniture). If I pretended I was really starving because I hadn't eaten in days, the food would somehow taste better. I would ration it and eat it very slowly, savouring each piece. Thank you for making this video! I really love the concept of the collector! I plan to make a similar miniature one day too.
Glad you enjoyed it! That's such a cute thing to do, tricking yourself into liking your food.. I can totally imagine how you would eat it bit by bit. Thank you for sharing such a lovely memory. All the best making that miniature you dream of!! ❤️🦋✨
what a beautiful video, this was perfect before sleeping and the result looks so so beautiful! i also want to make a miniature set, although a much easier one
Thank you so much! Yess I love yo watch miniatures videos before bed too. Go for it, making a kit will be so fun!! ❤️📚✨
Was für eine absolut fantastische einzigartige Handarbeit. Noch nie habe ich etwas sooooo schönes und filigranes gesehen was mit so viel Liebe und Ideenreichtum von Hand hergestellt wurde. Was ein kostbarer Schatz. Vielen Dank fürs zeigen aus Dank gleich ein Abo und Kommentare da gelassen
Thank you for subscribing and commenting! Knowing that people from different countries watch my video makes me very happy!
Oh my goodness. That is truly a labour of love. I adore all things miniature and have several dolls houses. But unfortunately I have never had the skill or steadiness of hand to create anything as exquisite as your creations. Truly awesome. I love your story telling and the calmness and tranquility of your videos. Your dining as a child brought back many memories for me. Especially of meals eaten in silence and not being allowed to start or leave the table until everyone else had. My youngest brother was a very slow eater and I would sometimes nudge him under the table with my foot to try to hurry him along. Until my father saw me once. I never dared do it again. And my brother is still a slow eater 😂
oh noooo not the baby brother keeping everyone at the table 😂 I laughed!! Nice to know he didn't let your nudging get to him hahaha. You're so lucky to have those dollhouses--I don't have space for any.
You, my dear, are a natural storyteller, and as a newcomer to your channel, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching your craft come to life through your story. Thank you for taking me with you on your journey, I look forward to travelling with you in your other videos and Hi from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel 💕 I was in Sydney earlier this year and saw some amazing scenery + very inspiring furniture at the Elizabeth Bay House 💕💕💕
Such a beautiful build and video. Pure poetry in motion.
Aww thank you so much!! This is the sweetest comment ever ♥
