You got a fantastic find! That clock is in immaculate condition and it’s quite hard to come across Ogee, or other clocks from that time period in as good of condition as yours. Love the way you record your videos by the way, very informative and well put together.
I have an ST ogee a lot like that that has an amazing story. I found it at goodwill for 20 bucks with all of its original parts and service records. Restored it back to working condition and it’s one of the gems in my collection. Mine was made very close to 1865 because the case is labeled Thomaston and the movement is labeled Plymouth. Mine is in pretty much that exact same case but it has no alarm feature and the bottom glass tablet is a mirror I stead of a reverse-painted image.
Yours looks to be a second style S. Thomas column & cornice, or "Half-column?" I'm very impressed with your knowledge and enthusiasm, and hope you'll stay with your passion for these wonderful old Connecticut clocks. I think when it was manufactured the dial would have been of the raised, or embossed style (?) At any rate, you have a very nice example there; and I appreciate your sharing this. Just subscribed...
If you were to immediately wind the alarm back up after it runs out of wind, it would start ringing again. You have to wait until at least 30 minutes passes before you wind up the alarm again... Which can make forgetting to reset the alarm easy. I always just tried to remembered to wind it up along with the weights before I went to bed at night.
Very Informative video! You have good knowledge of your beautiful clock and the history of Seth Thomas.... Thomas is connected to our Family lineage by the way of Miles Morse, another clock Maker in Plymouth Hollow Morse was married to Thomas' Granddaughter. I was fortunate enough to find one of his clocks in good to fine condition... Very similar to the Thomas Clocks....Recently, I rescued a Column clock like yours in the video.... I love to bring new life to a neglected clock. I am still amazed how a clock can even survive through many years and still be a credible tool around the house. Here is my old clock. ruclips.net/video/QCQPDZ8fXCQ/видео.html
Update:
This is better referred to as a Column clock, not an Ogee, though it shares design similarities with Ogee clocks.

This looks simlar to my seth thomas ogee clock, Nice video btw
Yours has a different dial and design, though yours is still really neat. Thank you!
Replacement dial probably from a repair shop at some point...my mom has the exact dial in too perfect of condition to be original.
Yeah, these were my thoughts as well. Nonetheless it looks great.
🤩
And if you were to wind the alarm back up again immediately after it unwound, it would ring again at 9:00?
