True. The level that was themed after Simon’s Quest was good. Would be cool if someone made a full hack of CV1 but used all CV2 assets, like music, graphics and enemies. In other words, make Simon’s Quest into a linear level-based game.
Found this fan hack game called Legend Of Double Dragon. He gave out test copies for people to try out. It should be coming out really soon. It's a PC download, no cart or emulator required.

You have to keep in mind it’s a stream, which means streamers will do a lot of talking. This video wasn’t really made for those of us watching after the fact. I don’t usually visit streams because of time but the way I understand it is if people feel like the streamer isn’t talking to them enough, they’ll leave.
Hey Mike, you mentioned the metroidvanias and I was actually thinking that you should play the belmont mode in them instead of the more RPG style main mode. I think that might give the vibe of the older vanias but be fresh and new for you or James to try!
I've seen plenty of people challenge themselves to beat the game without using subweapons, but I don't think I've ever seen anybody do it without upgrading the whip on top of that. But I know Mike likes a good challenge and so do I.
MetalSmasherGaming I’m pretty good when it comes to making up challenges I beat Alien Isolation on the Hardest Difficulty without using the Scanner the sad thing was it wasn’t a an achievement but I still did it for the challenge to me it was fun
How about beating the game on "hard" mode? Once you finish the game once, it starts in hard mode and keeps looping. I made a simple Game Genie code that starts out in hard mode: VVOLSPVA
I have been looking for the ROM of this game, I found what looks to be the official game/rom site where this game was made, but when I down load the ROM it does not work I am using the fceux EMULATOR and I keep getting a ---------> FDS Bios ROM image missing C:\AAA. Emulatore FCEUX\disksys.rom An error has occurred when loading file. message Am I using the wrong Emulator to try and open the file? I have read other places that they couldn't find a working Rom of this and some said it needs to be patched.Can anyone either tell me what I am doing wrong, OR post a link to a site that has a working ROM of this game?It looks fantastic.
I don't have the NES to play it on. I get that "retro" gaming is always going to be BEST with the original hardware and on an actual cartridge but that is not what I am looking for. The makers of the game put out a ROM so that people could play the game via a ROM and that is what I am looking for. (the ROM)

I figured out what a few of the relic items do. The coffee cup is energy, the crown makes your whip extra strong, the heels makes you pop out from the top of the screen. Not sure what the others do, since I pretty much used the coffee one my whole play through.

The stake (dagger) dominates in this version of the game. It deals 3-4 times time the damage and kills bosses in no time.
Mike when you get a new Switch you should play Monster Boy, it's a great Metroidvania platformer, and right up your alley.

Basic Castlevania no whip upgrade no powerup run is something ive seen its insane and if Mike wants a challenge thats a definite one.

PS. Emulation does not suck. Mike uses an everdrive for a lot of his streams (when streaming hacks) and those ROMs play just fine.
