Bought exter SX manual in July 2023, driven 6300km, mostly in highway and in Himalayas as well, with full luggage and family of 4. Never expected such performance in hilly terrain, totally impressed with the ground clearance, as it handled the bad road conditions really well, took all the hills in 1st and 2nd gear like any other car.(went to sittong). It’s really a allrounder in every aspect. Go for it guys as it’s a value proposition..
I second that. I drove my exter SX (4 people+ luggage) to Manali, Chakrata, Lanced owner and nainital. No problem atall. Average varies from 20+ KMPL in plains to 6-10 in hills. On steep hills had to be put in 2nd gear. AC was continuously on. At one place where there were steep slopes and the surface had debris and loose dry soil, I had to switch off my ESC. It's an all round "bigger" small car. Suspension is soft but it's absolutely comfortable. People seems to be sharing their opinion without experiencing the drive of this car. Lots of places Exter drove pass successfully where Fortuner got stuck due to its dimensions. Guys, take a test drive. If you buy cars for ride quality, peaceful ownership experience and reliability, then just go for it handsdown

Bought exter a week back. Driving experience of the AMT is indeed smooth. Inside space is really good with lot of room for someone like me with 6.2 ft height

However, Hyundai hasn't particularly concentrated on making suspension tuning which is just the same Nios. Very nice car , only experienced person used Exter car only say that its so spacious, no engine noise , smooth driving etc, its value for money, wait exter will capture the market..
Hey Motorinc, i love all your car reviews, they are informative, trustable and straightforward. I would like to have your take on the Toyota Rumion, MG Astor, and the new Toyota Taisor. What I think about the Exter is that Hyundai is trying to recreate the Santro vibe among the middle class target audience in India. The way its promoted as the taller SUV, wide space in the backseats, great first car choice for a small family all sounds familiar to how Santro was introduced back in 1998. Anyways love your videos and looking forwards for more detailed reviews! Thank you!
Got the Exter full option (manual) a few months back and took back to back trips and clocked more than 8K. It's an all rounder car. Packed with all the right features to pamper you along the way.
Last year in November was researching on which car to buy under 15L and 3 car topped my list 1. Nissan Magnite CVT Turbo 2. Hyundai Exter 3. I have that car for 5months now and on highway I have extracted a mileage of 20kmpl. Its tall has more boot space and highest ground clearance among all 3. if XUV300 is updated it would easily become the standout car among all the 3 and if anyone is planning to buy just wait for the facelift of XUV300
Bro run away from anything that has a cvt that isn't a Toyota, trust me this coming from a guy that basically lives at a garage. This Nissan/Renault partnership is truly terrible and has made nissan one of the worst brands in the world because of it. Nissan no longer makes their own auto transmission they buy it from a terrible company called jatco
@@motorinc most common is that the belt in the CVT just explodes into a million pieces, for people that have sadly already have one we advise a transmission oil change every 20,000km over the 60,000km that the dealership advises because they all blow up at around 40-80k km. When they do blow up you'll need a brand new one which is more expensive than the traditional auto transmission that's much more resilient.
I have 2017 IGNIS AMT driven 188000 Kms and Exter Manual Driven 16000 KMS. Both are CNG. Ignis is fuel efficient + gr8 Load carrying capacity I have covered 1000 kms with @500Kg load and car delivered mileage of 30 Kms/Kg(m3) @ 43 Km/hr avg speed. but now i avoid driving IGNIS due to Noisy cabin and bumpy ride as Exter manual's smooth suspension and calm cabin gives u far less fatigue on highway drives. On Highway Ignis gives 29~33 Km/m3 (kg) and Exter gives 25~28 Km/m3, in city Ignis gives 19~23 Km/m3 and exter gives 16~19 Km/m3. On highway Road+ tyre + wind Noise of Ignis cabin ruins all advantages of its gr8 Music system. so its better to buy Exter AMT top and upgrade music system alongwith good sequential CNG kit. Both cars have gr8 ground clearance and good engine that will allow you to drive it anywhere whithout any hassels. if you are on tight budget go with Ignis but if you can afford then u must go with Exter AMT Top. its silent cabin and smooth ride will enhance your longterm ownership experience.
People downplay the importance of electronic features in cars. Often these are called gimmicks & unnecessary additions which increase the chance of faults & the cost. This line of thought would have made sense 10-12 years back but today with the increasing traffic & our connected way of life, your car is more than just a means of transport & a car is expected to provide more than an AC in terms of creature comforts & safety.
I bought Hyundai exter sx variant it's been almost 6000km. Done with both city and highway driving. I am very much satisfied with the performance and fuel economy. In the city u won't get it will be mostly like 10 - 13kmpl. On the highway I got it like 19kmpl. And coming to its look it may seem to looks compact but once ur inside the car u won't get that small feel for sure. One thing for sure is that power in 2nd gear ⚙️ u may feel some power lag that's minor other than that everything is good.
Nissan Magnite Turbo Or Kiger Don't think of Exter as an SUV, it's an "inter" like Kartik mentioned once City usage, it's fine.... nothing more than that You should look at Mahindra XUV 3XO under 10lakhs.. it's an excellent value unless you want too much of equipment And also has a refined engine unlike Magnite or Kiger
I own Exter SX AMT and it’s best car for city commute. I like the auto ac, amt is tuned good enough, I have several long trips like Jabalpur to Pune 1000km and I have no complaints. Also I drove last month from Pune to Goa via Amboli ghat. If you are going to buy this thinking it’s suv then you will be disappointed.
I would suspect it is the tuning. Vanue engine will probably last less and burn more fuel... And in the end it gives you worse performance overall. Just watch some drag races between 1.2l venue and exter. Exter pick up ends up being much better and reaches higher speeds better. That is because the venue weights more. In lower horse power segment, any additional 10kg really makes a big difference in how the engine pulls. Venue has almost 200kg extra! That's like having to drive 3 adults in your car at all times! At 150- hp, the weight of the car makes a huge difference! Always consider it.
Awesome ! 🙌 people compare it with Tata Punch and wagon r but the Exter is a much superior product. The engine refinement, the reliability, the fit and finish, the equipment, the comfort, the cabin space. For me sitting high or low doesn’t matter, i just love the way the seats are. I drive always so havent ever been in the rear seats. But all i can say, if you just ignore the pseudo- suv fetish of the market, This is the ultimate city car for me. well i have the polo(2012) and i20(2023) also but this is always the vehicle of my choice. ❤
@@akshatkhedekar8561segment wise, looks wise yes ! But it is a very wide car. Trust me it’s not at all a small car. Only its under 4m in length. I had to expand the width of my shed where i used to comfortably park my Ford Figo (new gen) The exter is much easier vehicle to handle in the city.
1:11 ,, couldn't agree more ,, i really wish they had worked a bit more on the suspension The rear suspension almost looks as if its bottoming out with 2-3 adult passengers , let alone with luggage.... Otherwise it would have be a perfect daily commute + weekend day trip car. I mean they advertised it like that.
Hi Motorinc! for primarily a city runabout automatic car, which one of these would you suggest: Exter, Ignis, Fronx or Glanza/Baleno? I've test ridden them and feel the AMT of Hyundai is a generation better!?
Hullo VI! The Suzuki 1.2 equipped cars are excellent. That engine is a gem. Yes - the Exter’s AMT is awesome. But the stronger engine in the Suzuki’s makes them a better pick. More responsive and more efficient.
I am using it for couple of months refined and smooth engine very good quality esp interior good service from hyundai only prob i felt is milleage in city is 9kmpl..
I'd go with the exter. Tata service is so shitty. My parents regret buying the Nexon ev because everything started rattling around, and there is no support from tata.
Hi sir, Sir I m first time buyer. My family chose three cars according our budget..I.e Fronx Delta+, Punch Accomplish, Exter SX all in AMT. Plz suggest me which one should I have purchase... We are confused in these cars. Waiting for your reply
I have SX O AMT of this, done 1000kms, 1st service is due. No regrets so far, only one thing to say the suspension setup should have been a little stiffer for highways, otherwise car is buttery smooth. AMT is smooth and I generally don't feel any head nod. 5 people comfortably sit in it irrespective of their heights. One more thing, when 5 heavy people sit with luggage rear of the suspensions feel as if being throat-choked. But that's also rare for me since I mostly drive alone or with my mom and sister.
Can you please review the MG Astor? It's one car from that segment that gets overlooked by reviewers, maybe for good reason😅 but loved your take on the C3, and am sure your take on the Astor will be interesting, so please lets do this @Motorinc
Hi @motorinc Great evaluation and delivery Good job and it's clear that lot of work goes into making these videos. It's difficult to gauge the size of the car, boot space, leg room etc in the clips that is being shown. It would help for ex: if there is pic of boot space filled with suitcases.
Hi Motorinc . Kindly suggest which amt car will be better amongst Exter ,Punch and Kiger? Have heard about engine and reverse gear issues in Kiger amt. Also kindly sugggest better vehicle between nexon smart plus amt and breeza vxi at tc?
The Exter. Four cylinder engine smoother and its AMT is quick. Just keep in mind - that its suspension and cabin feel is not SUV. It’s more city friendly hatchback.
Those shots of the suspension going over bumps and breakers are nailing it. Its trying to take on the wagonR, Ignis and Punch in a single package with a tinge of opulence and modernity. Not bad and it does catch attention.
Hi Motorinc, There is a great room for the NEXA IGNIS review from you. Kartikeya sir, you own one. Please we would love to hear from you ! Loads of love to the symphony!
@@motorinc you have to believe this , I just booked the IGNIS and still holding on the full payment since I didn’t hear from MotorInc yet. I am very determined to hold on the purchase until Kartikeya himself talks about the IGNIS😄.
Exter is a car which looks amazing in the front , and the side also looks good for the first half of the car, the back and the second half of the side profile looks rushed and unpolished
Great review as usual ! Love the way you guys put it across in a calm manner :) I recently saw your review on the Renault Triber, and would love to know your opinion/review on the Renault Kiger as well. I'm a first time buyer/driver and it fits right in my budget! Cheers and have a good one! :)
Go for it. That’s a very sensible car. Also check out its sibling - the Magnite. Its comfort front seat and backseat is a bit better - if that matters to you. Keep us posted!
I own i10 nios AMT. And I love the car. I would strongly suggest you to pick the AMT. I drove the manual and you have to work the gears to keep it in the powerband. But if you have an AMT this job is done by the car. It's extremely convenient in Chennai traffic. Pick the AMT.
Driving the xcent for 11 years, hassle free , maintenance free experience… was looking to upgrade. The exter felt like the perfect city car with occasional highway drive… should we go ahead? Had looked at creta but that is really a stretch beyond. Suggestions please
I just love how Kartikeya explains everything ❤ Following him since autocar😊 Respect bro😊 And I bought exter 3 months bqck Used on hills on some bad patches, city traffic, relaxed highways And it perfomed excellent. The engine is smooth and silent, suspension is also great, provides all the necessary and luxury features in budget. Overall excellent all rounder family car Negative point which i felt was Shoulder room and understhigh support could be better, but nevertheless excellent package. Fully satisfied
Hullo ASf! Firstly - congratulations! Also, thanks for having this chat with us. We love it that we can have different view points and still chat like this. Just for that - ❤️!
I own this for last 6 months.. the oly vfm Variant is SX Yea it cannot have the suvish driving exp like Punch, but still its a very good car for smooth driving exp..and 4cyl engine was my main reqmnt. After first 5k km, my highway mileage also increased to 21kmpl(cruise between 80-85) From the downside part, suspension isnt great and nvh is high after crossing 90kmph.. Overall better alternate to many hatchbacks available and bit safer too(as it weighs 999kg)
Suspension issue is predominant in Hyundai cars, I own Verna and exter both cars bottomsout in big bumps. So does creta, this is the only negative of owning Hyundai car. But don't know if Hyundai going to change it or not. As this has been a prolonged issue. I had 2006 Verna and now have 2015 Verna fluidic both has almost same suspension set up.
@@anujdhmn ah i wasnt aware of this, i had i10 which was probably the worst, and this exter i thought below average.. Whereas the same segment fronx was much better
As a person who have extensively experienced grand i10 Nios, I can say that engine refinement, interior and over all build quality will be superb for that segment.(Note : I don't associate build quality with Crash safety protection). Also, kappa engine seems to be better when it comes to feel and efficiency when compared to Revotron(Punch). But Punch has an upper hand on Ride quality, Toughness and Ground clearance. Also, not a fan of exter's wierd rear end(but added a rear end headroom bonus ). Those who don't want to deal with Tata's niggles, can buy THIS else get the Punch or as the video suggest, lower trims of segment above cars, if you are not a feature geek🤓
Hey K S ,doing a good job man. Just one thing, try to get Y T to include a Speed somewhere between 1.25 X (too slow) & 1.5 X (too fast). Normal has one wondering "Whose?", . Would do well on Mind Your Language though !
Which is a better one ? Baleno or exter for city day to day usage from court to home, home to court. Looking at the mileage and resell ig i would go for baleno ! What your verdict ?
Great car and specially the amt variant, one drawback drive slowly over un-uniform breakers , as suspension is more towards softer side, at high speed say above 30/35 kmph , the bottom will hit, as per comfort and ride no complains and also there is a lag shifting from 1st to 2nd gear rest is smooth
Hi sir, I am confused between exter and tata punch. I am looking for long term usage and I am first time buyer. Please suggest which one is good. Normal usage for daily commuting to office and occasional trips. Open for suggestions. Thanks
Ignis is good car.. but steel quality is not competitive... Swift is a hatchback car.... Again steel quality is not good.. In both of these cars.. engine is very reliable.. But if you are looking for a SUV style vehicle.. then try Venue, sonet, Nexon or Mahindra xuv300 (wait for facelift)
Hi team Has your take on Exter changed during this full review? Asking bcoz in earlier first look video FAQ Exter Vs Ignis, you recommended Exter as the better of the two cars..
Hello VI! The FAQs explore the pros and cons of the comparison. There is also one which states the pros of three Ignis relative to the Exter. Do check them out. Thanks!
For 1st time buyer is this good? I have small family(2 right now, 3 if get married this year) I , only short trips but there will be some high way trips, is suspension is that bad? I don't really get a hatchback because there are some speed breakers around my area which are quite high.
In the last part of the video, exter was briefly compared to venue and baleno. But what about Hyundai's own i20 base model? Any thoughts on how exter compares with it? And how i20 generally fares in the 10L segment?
That also has the same engine - which also feels similarly dull to drive. Venue will provide you a higher stance so the compromise of the dull engine might still be worth it. Between i20 and Baleno we’ll pick Baleno.
Firstly, very well put together facts and reviews. Very appealing video.. clearly there's a lot of work gone behind by team motorinc, making videos like this.. the presentation and visuals are just amazing.. I am looking at buying an exter base model..my major use is in the city.. maybe once a year to other cities.. Is the suspension too bad to not consider buying this? I won't be able to wait to see upcoming cars.. considered this for the use, height, engine, looks and budget as the base model fits well in 7.5L.. Would really appreciate your advice for buying it! Thanks.
Can you make a comparison video of Wagon R vs Citroën C3. Both have manual 1.2 L engines and a tall seating position. When it comes to brand popularity, both brands stand poles apart. It will be an interesting comparison.
Is the suspension a deal breaker, like under heavy load & highway speeds? If yes, I will consider the Punch. In all other aspects, this seems better than the punch.
I bought Exter and fully satisfied with the product.... Jo isko use kar raha hai wo sab ke sab happy hain iske performance se....and I am one of them... You wont regret..... Jo car use karta hain uske alawa koi aur bata nahi sakta about actual car performance... So ask any owner of the car....you will always find the owner is fully satisfied with the EXTER... GO FOR IT....😊
@@motorinc its a great car....performing very nice in city and highway both....Spacious cabin and premium interior make you happy in every drive....didn't find any single issue with suspension......so no problem so far😊
Baleno/ Fronx - are such good machines put together..they always get a mention as your near the 10L mark.. and with a Suzuki badge..they win most of the times!
Guys, you've got to do an in-depth comparison of the Creta, Elevate & Seltos ASAP, covering topics that only you talk about like suspension tuning, reliability, durability, practicality, service cost & experience.
Amazing vehicle. When buying a 82BHP car , one should not expect it to be an all rounder. The best part of the Exter is it's AMT , those who have driven Maruti and Tata AMT will fall head over heels. The downside i see is like any car in this budget the roll back in slight inclines like speed breaker is prominent.
Brought home AMT SXO CONNECT Dual tone model 20 days ago w only 400 km as of now , as our 2nd car , 1st being the diesel 2018 Creta Auto , except the lack of power and suspension ,we genunely are justified for value of money , this car provides for the segemnt , my parents love the car and its genuenly the most feature packed car in the segment , like we didnt went for venue (mid model) for the same price , instead this car we feel we got more value for money with features , IT COULD HAVE BEEN A MARKET KILLER JUST WITH 20 EXTRA HP AND SLIGHTLY BETTER CONFIDENCE INSPIRING HIGHWAY HIGH SPEED TRACTIBILTY , OTHER THAN THAT ITS A AWSOME CAR CALM AND GENTLE LIKE A GENTLEMAN .
AMT with paddle shifter is really good, only complain - even with SX no rear wiper , I mean 6 air bags are good but what about visibility in rainy, foggy seasons?
I was confused between exter and punch manual. Being a new driver and my first car, after the test drive i decided to go for the punch. The seating position in the exter is low and visibility isn't as good as the punch. Its steering is too light for me and it is pricier and low vfm. Sxo was going beyond 10.5 lacs and one to two month waiting. The punch is easier to drive and looks better as well. Exter looks like wagon r of Hyundai not a santro.
Hey can you suggest one under 10lk .its a new one for our family of 4 so basically my mother will be more driving so looking more into automatic.(except baleno and ignis)😁
Can you please compare how much higher is drag, air friction and centre of gravity in exter vs i20 and it's practical implications on mileage and handling?
@@motorinc Yeah. Sorry I should rephrase my question. Can you compare mileage and handling of these two and based on the results maybe we can say the tall body caused drop in mileage by what percentage. Likewise how you felt about handling and body roll.
@@motorinc I sounded stupid to be asking to compare drag and centre of gravity. I actually wanted to ask about mileage and handling in the context of distinct body shape of the two
you guys should do a recurring series by creating a tier list for the best second hand cars every year. considering how car prices have shot up it will be an instant hit
@@motorinc interesting I hadn't thought of that. I suppose if you have someone on your team who's tech savvy they could build a web crawler to find prices of different vehicles across different second hand platforms and compile a data sheet to find the averages. This would be a lot of work but I think it's worth exploring.

Hullo RC! Could you tell us more about the service aspects? What seems to be the issue?
Getting mine delivered this Saturday! So excited!👉👈
Hullo RS! Congratulations!
Wonderful to hear that @anuroop7450. Thanks for sharing!
Hi, I was thinking of getting a suv under 10Lk. Exter was in my mind. Any other suv u can please suggest? Thanks
Nissan Magnite Turbo
Or Kiger
Don't think of Exter as an SUV, it's an "inter" like Kartik mentioned once
City usage, it's fine.... nothing more than that
You should look at Mahindra XUV 3XO under 10lakhs.. it's an excellent value unless you want too much of equipment
And also has a refined engine unlike Magnite or Kiger
This guy has finesse. I mean it Kartikeya, you’re really good at what you do.
Thanks a ton! We'll pass your compliments on to the team, Ankit!
Thanks for sharing Sujeet! And congratulations! Enjoy your drives!
+1 Haven't done any long trips so far in my 3 months with it. What sort of mileage are you getting? Do you use the auto mode throughout?
@@nanoginesI got 18kmpl on my 1000km trip and we were 4 people in the car and luggage was full and ac was on throughout the trip.
Isn't good to add a coil spring with suspension because for 5 members riding in a car its ground clearance get lower . Isn't a good option
Hey, can you kindly share your honest opinions about the "Honda AMAZE cvt" variant vs "Tata punch AMT" ?
Amaze CVT is excellent value and a great little car. If it works for you - go for it.
Venue also has the same engine right? Could you pls enlighten why it is better than exter?
I would suspect it is the tuning.
Vanue engine will probably last less and burn more fuel... And in the end it gives you worse performance overall.
Just watch some drag races between 1.2l venue and exter.
Exter pick up ends up being much better and reaches higher speeds better. That is because the venue weights more.
In lower horse power segment, any additional 10kg really makes a big difference in how the engine pulls.
Venue has almost 200kg extra!
That's like having to drive 3 adults in your car at all times!
At 150- hp, the weight of the car makes a huge difference! Always consider it.
Even Hyundai has not showcased Exter like this. Excellent Videography and editing. Good lighting.
That’s satisfying to hear. Thank you so much.
Bought Exter SX AMT DT in March-24 , so far driven 4000KMs , its the best decision i hv made , costed me 11L
Glad to hear that @merajesh514. Thanks for sharing!
Isn't i20 a better car than this?
@@akshatkhedekar8561segment wise, looks wise yes ! But it is a very wide car. Trust me it’s not at all a small car. Only its under 4m in length. I had to expand the width of my shed where i used to comfortably park my Ford Figo (new gen) The exter is much easier vehicle to handle in the city.
Hello again A9! And thanks a ton for putting your take out there!
@@Ashes-9 oh ok
1:11 ,, couldn't agree more ,, i really wish they had worked a bit more on the suspension
The rear suspension almost looks as if its bottoming out with 2-3 adult passengers , let alone with luggage....
Otherwise it would have be a perfect daily commute + weekend day trip car.
I mean they advertised it like that.
The second line and the last line! Spot on!
He is a paid vlogger of suzuki
The back seat of Exter... ahhh soooo comfy... The ac cooling is toooo good.... Suspension is awwwwsome.
♥️
Which one is better- Baleno Alpha MT or Exter MT for city drive in Kolkata?
I am using it for couple of months refined and smooth engine very good quality esp interior good service from hyundai only prob i felt is milleage in city is 9kmpl..
Wow! That’s lower than we have seen. Which city are you in? And do you have the manual?
The automatic gives a mileage of 13 in the city and 18 on highway. The mileage improves post 5K on th3 odo
Own one and it’s amazing in the budget. Amt version and its urge is amazing.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
As a 1st time car buyer, should I go for exter or punch? Or anything else at 10 lakhs?
The R wagon!!!
Also drive the Baleno and Ignis!
I'd go with the exter. Tata service is so shitty. My parents regret buying the Nexon ev because everything started rattling around, and there is no support from tata.
@@motorinc sure I will try test driving all and then decide!
@@tanishqgandas2633 yeah, I also have heard horror stories of Tata service .
Hi sir,
Sir I m first time buyer. My family chose three cars according our budget..I.e Fronx Delta+, Punch Accomplish, Exter SX all in AMT. Plz suggest me which one should I have purchase... We are confused in these cars. Waiting for your reply
Go for Exter SX(O). You will not regret with this variant.
Thanks for taking the time to share @Hemant81Kumar. Keep us posted on your service experience.
@motorinc sure, thank you too, since I watched your video before purchasing it. 😊
Can you please review the MG Astor? It's one car from that segment that gets overlooked by reviewers, maybe for good reason😅 but loved your take on the C3, and am sure your take on the Astor will be interesting, so please lets do this @Motorinc
Hi @motorinc
Great evaluation and delivery
Good job and it's clear that lot of work goes into making these videos.
It's difficult to gauge the size of the car, boot space, leg room etc in the clips that is being shown.
It would help for ex: if there is pic of boot space filled with suitcases.
Hey SA! Thanks so much for your inputs and feedback. ❤️
I transported a lot of luggage on it today. Was able to easily fit 2 suitcases in with the tray on!
its worth buying trust me it is .😘
Thanks for sharing! Do you have one?
@@motorinc no but someone I know has is quite happy as they are aged couple.
Listening to Motoinc is like zen mode to me 😂❤❤

Love your channel but one feedback - the glare from white background makes it really hard to watch on mobile screens
👍🏽 and, hello SD!
I already have 1st gen alto k10..What shud i buy ? Breeza or jimny?? I want good suspension comfortable ride ..
Pls reply..I need advice on this
Brezza - petrol, Nexon venue sonet - diesel
DRL lits orange when inidcator turned on and get backs to DRL. Awesome little thing. Looks stunning from outside.
Yes it does!
Hi Motorinc,
There is a great room for the NEXA IGNIS review from you. Kartikeya sir, you own one. Please we would love to hear from you !
Loads of love to the symphony!
Underrated car, my wife drives Ignis AGS too!
He does love his Ignis! Will ask him to get one done!
Hullo AJ! Thanks for sharing your take.
Could anyone tell me how much mileage it's giving???
13-15 in city
20+ in highways
Exter has very good engine and mechanical features as compare to punch except strong body.
I own i10 nios AMT. And I love the car. I would strongly suggest you to pick the AMT. I drove the manual and you have to work the gears to keep it in the powerband. But if you have an AMT this job is done by the car. It's extremely convenient in Chennai traffic. Pick the AMT.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Sir Exter top version or Breeza base version ??
Driving the xcent for 11 years, hassle free , maintenance free experience… was looking to upgrade. The exter felt like the perfect city car with occasional highway drive… should we go ahead?
Had looked at creta but that is really a stretch beyond. Suggestions please
We will recommend waiting and making the stretch. Then you’ll be set for the long run. 😁
Sir, you do drive ignis too right! Is it good for 1st time buyers in the budget of 8 to 8.5 lakhs?
It's small, spacious but it's not attractive from any angle especially from rear
Gotcha!
I just love how Kartikeya explains everything ❤
Following him since autocar😊
Respect bro😊
And I bought exter 3 months bqck
Used on hills on some bad patches, city traffic, relaxed highways
And it perfomed excellent.
The engine is smooth and silent, suspension is also great, provides all the necessary and luxury features in budget.
Overall excellent all rounder family car
Negative point which i felt was
Shoulder room and understhigh support could be better, but nevertheless excellent package. Fully satisfied
Hullo ASf! Firstly - congratulations! Also, thanks for having this chat with us. We love it that we can have different view points and still chat like this. Just for that - ❤️!
Bloody sweet Narration and Top Notch Videography
Thanks O01! Appreciate it.
I own this for last 6 months.. the oly vfm Variant is SX
Yea it cannot have the suvish driving exp like Punch, but still its a very good car for smooth driving exp..and 4cyl engine was my main reqmnt.
After first 5k km, my highway mileage also increased to 21kmpl(cruise between 80-85)
From the downside part, suspension isnt great and nvh is high after crossing 90kmph..
Hey Pradeep! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
@@anujdhmn ah i wasnt aware of this, i had i10 which was probably the worst, and this exter i thought below average..
Whereas the same segment fronx was much better
@@pradeepb1277 yes, in terms of suspension Suzuki cars does have better suspensions.
I just loved the way you presented this. Super.
Thank you so much 🙂!
What's your opinion on hyundai i20 ivt ??
Is it reliable for longer usage ?
Very nice reliable car.. IVT in i20 is perfect match...
It have mileage issue
You have to drive the CVT slightly differently - with a lighter foot.
Thanks for sharing your perspective @arunvishnum.e3156
Bro I felt very boring while watching this video and fall asleep for 2 and half hrs.😂😂
Hullo MJ! Did you finish watching it after you woke up? 😃
@milind Go watch that guy who shouts to the top of his lungs and breaks 10 traffic rules every two minute in the name of a car review.
5:11
Even the Gi10 Nios and infact the whole range of Hyundai cars have got six airbags as standard, Kartik.
Please take a note of the same .
Thanks for sharing that!
I landed here directly from BK Shivani's channel😅, Kartikeya looks so much at peace (and lil baked).
Comprehensive as always!
Now we have to Google that!
Hey K S ,doing a good job man. Just one thing, try to get Y T to include a Speed somewhere between 1.25 X (too slow) & 1.5 X (too fast). Normal has one wondering "Whose?", . Would do well on Mind Your Language though !
Hahaha! Alright … or should we ask him to speed up a bit?
Which is a better one ? Baleno or exter for city day to day usage from court to home, home to court. Looking at the mileage and resell ig i would go for baleno ! What your verdict ?
Agreed! Baleno is our default recommendation - it sits in a sweet spot. Big enough, small enough, fun enough, practical enough.
@@motorinc sir between baleno alpha ,i20 sportz and fronx delta plus optional which is good ,70% city drive 30% high way monthly usage 1000 to 1300km
Very well presented. A great script and awesome production design.
Thank you 🙏🏾!
Oh my God! Even you made a video on Exter but not on Venue! Are you going to make one?
Karthik hitting out on them Gen Z's!! Dayummmm
😁
Sometimes I feel, Exter looks like rival of Maruti Wagan R. Tall boy edition, boxy design.😅 Jokes apart, Exter is far better than PUNCH.
Exactly!
Hi sir, I am confused between exter and tata punch. I am looking for long term usage and I am first time buyer. Please suggest which one is good. Normal usage for daily commuting to office and occasional trips. Open for suggestions. Thanks
Our recommendation is to try out the Ignis. And if you can - wait for the new Swift. Let us know how we can help!
Definitely worth waiting for the 300. And the Sonet is worth trying out for sure.
Hi team
Has your take on Exter changed during this full review? Asking bcoz in earlier first look video FAQ Exter Vs Ignis, you recommended Exter as the better of the two cars..
Hello VI! The FAQs explore the pros and cons of the comparison. There is also one which states the pros of three Ignis relative to the Exter. Do check them out. Thanks!
It feels like modern version of Santro Xing. With the looks, tall boy stance and spacious cabin.
Nooooo. Let’s leave the Santro at its iconic status.
For 1st time buyer is this good? I have small family(2 right now, 3 if get married this year) I , only short trips but there will be some high way trips, is suspension is that bad? I don't really get a hatchback because there are some speed breakers around my area which are quite high.
Hullo E404! If you plan to hold onto it for longer - we would wait and buy something that’ll be satisfying for longer.
@@motorinc oh OK!
@@motorincwhy not Fronx? It's a raised Baleno
Thanks.
You could look at honda amaze, give it a test drive.
Can you make a comparison video of Wagon R vs Citroën C3. Both have manual 1.2 L engines and a tall seating position. When it comes to brand popularity, both brands stand poles apart. It will be an interesting comparison.
Thanks for the recommendation!
So exter for highway is a no go then ? Is there something available with similar pricing that I can get?
Hello! For regular highway use - it will feel dull. For highway use with family and luggage on board - Nope.
Ignis is Kartikeya’s top pick. The engine is awesome.
My dad drove it from Kolkata to Jamshedpur and back. It's not bad on the highways but you can't compare it to cars twice it's price for sure.
Is the suspension a deal breaker, like under heavy load & highway speeds?
If yes, I will consider the Punch. In all other aspects, this seems better than the punch.
Especially those conditions!
I come across the comment in of one the exter video and that stuck in my mind. It like
"Exter is modified Wagon-R". I can't unstuck it.
GO FOR IT....😊
Thank you for the glowing recommendation @sagarsonawane8470. What is your usage like with the Exter?
@@motorinc its a great car....performing very nice in city and highway both....Spacious cabin and premium interior make you happy in every drive....didn't find any single issue with suspension......so no problem so far😊
Baleno/ Fronx - are such good machines put together..they always get a mention as your near the 10L mark.. and with a Suzuki badge..they win most of the times!
If exter gets a 4 star rating, it would become a slight better option IMO
Baleno is our default recommendation in this price range.
I had bought a second hand i20 Asta and I faced sponges clutch issues with it. Scared of going back to a Hyundai now 😢
Guys, you've got to do an in-depth comparison of the Creta, Elevate & Seltos ASAP, covering topics that only you talk about like suspension tuning, reliability, durability, practicality, service cost & experience.
Thanks SK! Noted! We want to get the siblings together for sure.
Its actually much better value proposition than Baleno. I enjoy the ride height of Exter than Baleno.
I20 vs exter which is better in term of low cost service and long term hassle free
Hi we are thinking of buying this sx amt version would you suggest please reply asap
Go for it
AMT with paddle shifter is really good, only complain - even with SX no rear wiper , I mean 6 air bags are good but what about visibility in rainy, foggy seasons?
The AMT is epic. And spot on about the rear wiper.

Thanks for sharing your take.
Hey Motorinc, The color correction seems to be off. Is this how it meant to be? This isn’t the exter green.
Hullo AJM! Any specific point or generally?
Hey can you suggest one under 10lk .its a new one for our family of 4 so basically my mother will be more driving so looking more into automatic.(except baleno and ignis)😁
Can you please compare how much higher is drag, air friction and centre of gravity in exter vs i20 and it's practical implications on mileage and handling?
Quite simply - they would all be higher/worse than the i20. The exact details needs some serious mathing!
@@motorinc
Yeah.
But prices can vary by year and usage. How should we slice up the used car pie? Please help!
@@motorinc interesting I hadn't thought of that. I suppose if you have someone on your team who's tech savvy they could build a web crawler to find prices of different vehicles across different second hand platforms and compile a data sheet to find the averages. This would be a lot of work but I think it's worth exploring.
Hullo RB! Noted! And, thanks for the recommendation!
