Hair flaking is usually due to your scalp getting irritated by the retightening process. This is normal, it's just because metal has been scraping against your scalp during each rotation. Your scalp might be a bit more sensitive too. Probably wash it soon after the retightening using tea tree oil or peppermint essential oil and then massage your scalp to release some sebum for moisture and protection.

Cute style... in reference to dry and flaking.... that is common. I tried rosewater back on the day.
..also love this style. Also happy to see someone with thick hair and sisterlocks. How long have you had your sl..... I will celebrate 6 years on 1/23/18. I have 700 sisterlocks. Started with 698.

Alright PA!! Checkout the Sisterlocks website at sisterlocks.com to find you either a certified consultant or trainee. My consultant was a trainee at the time when she installed mine and she did a fabulous job. Don't be afraid to try a trainee. They have the skills and most times are cheaper. It was for me. I would look in Houston. They have many Sisterlocks consultants and trainees. Good luck on your journey. Hit me up if you have questions ;)

Iyron Nixon thank you for watching. I have a total of 640 Sisterlocks. The size of my locs are smalls and medium according to my consultant. I have a lot of smalls. The front from ear to ear is all smalls. That's around 350 locks. I also have smalls all are the perimeter with some mediums in the back. My consultant counted and showed me my lock sizes according to the parting guide.
Kellum sounds like me. I have small and medium size sl as well.
NaturalNikkiDST awesome. Most people say they have the standard sizes which is smalls, medium, and large. Looking at yours give me and idea of how mine may look when matured. You have a few more than me. I have 640. I can't wait until they mature but I'm just going to enjoy this stage in the meantime.
Kellum I purposely asked for small and medium... I have been told that mines are smaller than the average size small and smaller the the average size med.... I choose that bc back in the day when I got sisterlocks there were only 2 or 3 bloggers that had thick hair so I saw what a large look like on someone with thicker hair and I did not like the way it looked. And my consultant just so happen to be a licensed cosmotologist and she had thick hair. She showed me how the back of her head looked and we both agree that a large on someone with thick hair was a no go. I'm ok with sitting. But it still does not take long to retighten my hair..... if I retighten it takes me anywhere from 5.5-6hours over the course of 1-3 days(I'll do 1.5-2 hours a day) if my consultants retighten s my hair she can get me in and out between 3-4.5 hours (3 hours if I go every 4 weeks) at the end of the day it's all about whay the individual wants.... but your square is an indicated of how big your locs will be. Enjoy the ride. In was not concern with when or if they locked. I was just and still an excited about the journey.
