I used to sit by myself at school and listen to the Jr.But nobody at the time even considered it a band! They all thought Nirvana was our saviour. And yet I loved this band without judgement they made me feel good. That is all I could really ask.
Beautiful! Know exactly whattcha mean. They kinda sad my life. 💜💚❤
Dinosaur Jr was always better then Nirvana
Ironically Kurt asked j mascis to be second guitar
a masterpiece in chord progressions
I love the way Lou plays bass
I feel kind of ripped off by life when I watch this stuff. They were like 22-24 then and I was 11. Ten years later when I was old enough to be a part of this stuff we had...Limp Bizkit and nu-metal. Fucking hell, man.
Okay and I’m 24 and w** a** p**** is at the top of the charts
@@BigDawg588 this wasnt exactly a chart topping band...
@@glaper they somehow had one of their old songs chart Japanese charts a couple of years ago though.
Korn had some cool sounding guitar work in their old stuff
Dino still tours dude! Go see em, they're still killin it!
this is the coolest band ever❤
My favourite Dino Jr song.
Ever.
Back when Murph had hair. A LOT of hair!!!
woah i didn't know J was this tall and thin in the old days. and it sounds fucking pristine. god the distortion hit at 1:44
Thank you.
Just saw them at FYF fest a few weekends ago!!!! 23 years later, and they're still rocking just as hard!
one of the best bands of all time! soo ahead of their time!
The sheer abandon is impressive...Attack with no let-up...Love it
one of the best live recordings i have ever heard. damn.
Wow, Lou's bass playing looks fierce! This is an amazing video - thanks so much for posting it!
One of my favorite bands. Just brilliant.
AMAZING cut of an AMAZING song
J mascis is still god
yeah
Yeah
This is the second last show Lou played with Dino before they broke up, the last show was the next day at the Fonda theatre with Red Kross.
2021 and J still has it
Wow, Murph with Hair...amazing song, amazing video, thanks for all
a true lost gem. thanks so much for posting!!!
Thank you very much for posting.
It's amazing.Thanks once again.
P
Yes! been waiting for this, kudos for posting more songs from this show man!
best live performance of all time
The chorus is so fucking heavy god damn I love this song and this whole album
Awesome, seen them 11 times. Sadly I was only 14 during the SST era. This is a gem.
yes, this was an exceptional catch of a video. thanks greatly for the post. take care all
Late '80s / early '90s Dino is still unsurpassed. Often I wish Jimi had lived on to see his legacy in Bad Brains, Death, Dino, and Wipers. J and Greg in particular would have don him proud, I'm sure. And imagine what they might have taught each other!
these dudes are awesome
They played the Roxy a few weeks later while still on the West Coast. It was louder as the Roxy had a great house PA and Jay, Lou and Murph took full advantage of it. They were really an outstanding band at this point. This was their peak ( for me ). It was pre-Nirvana. There was no "grunge" on the radio yet ... or MTV, per say . But there was a program called 120 Minutes that played Toad The Wet Sproket, Chapterhouse, Big Head Todd ... and "Furry Little Things" video. Outstanding.
These guys kick all kinds of ass!
FUCK YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!! CLASSIC BAND LOVE EM !!!!
I like how the first related video is the same song, jay appears to be wearing the same plain purple shirt, and playing the same guitar. But hes been at it for so long his hair faded from near black to near white.
Raw, awesome
yeah!
I bet that was so fucking loud.
i used to live for this song.
more from this show please? by any chance do you have drexel university, may '88?
Epic
❤
Lou in the plain white tee
?! j was never a boozer, he was an uptight anti social straight edge kid , lou on the other hand boozed like a sponge ... probably to cope with j's micro managing of every thing to do with the band. great show btw!
@podisracer Dude, so ahead of their time it's actually frightening. Have we even caught up yet?
Curiously back then J played à la Jimi Hendrix, using his thumb to press the lower strings, while now I think he plays using regular barré.
+Carlo Marchiori I just see him using his guitar pick...
On the left hand, he means.
Check your facts
Any more from this set?
I watch the guitar solo...and it's pretty good considering that the album solo is pure genius. It was the alcohol that made him solo like this. Now you see it and the solo goes on for two or three minutes. J will always be my guitar hero.
noise skinny kids
is that even Murph? I thought he never had hair... :)
ugggh.... such a disfunctional group back then .. good to see that they're back together so that's gotta tell you that they must be doing something right now :)
yep '89 - this is one of the last shows.
really '89? I knew Lou Barlow was already kicked out at this time.
G
that's the green mind line up
+dave frazier No, this was still the classic line-up. That's Lou on bass and Murph on drums. Green Mind was the first album without this line-up, and that album wasn't until '91.
i wonder if they would have made it big w a more "normal" singer
They wouldn’t her made it at all without j
J actually went through a big drug problem around the time of Green Mind due to his break up with ex gf Uma Therman
nymetsrock you misunderstood something, Uma wasn't her Gf in The Year Punk Broke what he said is just a joke
@McDonald's recipe J never dated Uma, she never even went the whole thing was an inside joke on the '91 euro tour. however J does live in the house she grew up in now which leads to a lot of confusion
AWSOMENESS......
